We re recognised as a world leader in equipment and solution development, and from the opening of our Research and Development (R&D) facility, our innovative product design has dominated industry news and redefined the boundaries of heavylifting capability in a global market. Our world-beating R&D facility works with teams around the world to find a solution for existing challenges and future issues before it s needed. The fleet of innovations are designed with state of the art technologies using industry experts and includes the All Terrain Transporters. These are the latest generation of self-propelled modular trailers which have the ability to travel longer distances with higher speeds, climb steep slopes and transverse across minimally prepared roads. 4 5
DESIGN After requests from clients developing new sites in remote locations, surrounded by limited road infrastructure, ALE started researching for a time and cost effective solution. By engaging clients at an early stage, ALE identified a number of projects where clients were building modules, such as pre-assembled racks (PARs) and pre-assembled units (PAUs), oversees instead of stick build onsite. To move these modules and relocate to an inland location normally takes a long time and requires a lot of costly road infrastructure. Or similarly, to relocate mining equipment within the mine, like dragliners and diggers. Through careful analysis of the current market and early engagement with clients to identify their needs, ALE first conceived the idea of the new transporters in 2015. The concept that ALE developed was the All Terrain Transporter, a fleet of self-propelled transporters which allow fast transportation of large and heavy loads on minimally prepared roads to deep, inland locations. ALE wanted to create a transportation system that: Offered greater axle capacity Could travel on minimally prepared roads Increased safety in its operation Increased the speed of transporting modules inland Has the flexibility of an SPMT and almost the speed of a conventional trailer and truck combination 6 7
OVERVIEW OF KEY FEATURES Modular transporters with adjustable widths ranging from a two file 4.86m wide trailer to a three file trailer 8m wide Self-propelled with electronic controlled steering 40t capacity per file The driving speed is 20km/hr loaded and 40km/hr unloaded Ability to climb steep slopes Designed with the latest engines and a level control system Single tyres are used to prevent mud and rock collection between the tyres Environmentally friendly emission certification and noise emission is reduced 9
DESIGN BENEFITS DESIGN BENEFITS ABILITY TO TRAVEL OVER ROUGH TERRAIN ROUTES All wheels are drive axles, which means that there is more traction than conventional trailers. The distance between the wheels is also wider, so rocks and other aspects of rough terrain are not caught in between the tyres. UNLIMITED CAPACITY The All Terrain Transporters have been designed so that they can be easily combined with additional transporters to transport the load required. 10 11
DESIGN BENEFITS ABILITY TO CARRY LARGE AND HEAVY LOADS The axle capacities are high, with 40t per file. A file consists of a suspension cylinder and two wheels. WIDTH ADJUSTABLE The transporters are modular and only require a narrow public road to the plant for operational use - the narrowest version is the two file 4.86m wide trailer. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY The transporters have been designed with the latest features, such as an environmentally friendly emission certification, and the parts are 100% recyclable. It also has the latest type of engines and an intelligent power management system for optimum performance and reduction of fuel consumption. The three file trailer is 8m wide. The widths can be adjusted by inserting different lengths of coupling blocks. The length is modular with two, three and four axle units. The axle spacing is 2.6m. 12 13 13
OPERATIONAL BENEFITS OPERATIONAL BENEFITS FAST TRANSPORTATION Huge savings on the client side can also be made in the project schedule because of the high operating speeds of the transporters. The driving speed is 20km/hr loaded and 40km/hr unloaded. These self-propelled transporters almost move with the speed of conventional trucks and have the flexibility of an SPMT. FLEXIBILITY TO WORK IN LARGE AND CONFINED AREAS The transporters are self-propelled with electronic controlled steering, and can manoeuvre themselves through almost any route on-road, off-road and on-site. REDUCED COSTS The client s costs are reduced as investment on surrounding road infrastructure is not required. The site may only require a narrow public road to the plant for operational use. COMPLETE TRANSPORTATION The All Terrain Transporters do not require multiple handling of the loads and offer the complete transportation from port to location. 14 15
OPERATIONAL BENEFITS BUILT TO MOVE ACROSS EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS The transporters have been designed to operate in the Arctic, making these ideal transporters to move big loads through rough, frozen areas. INCREASED SAFETY The Transporters contain a level control system to assess the inclination of the module being transported, ensuring accuracy and safety. ABILITY TO REACH DEEP, INLAND LOCATIONS Their large diameter wheels and the number of drive axles enable cross country operations. The stroke in the hydraulic suspensions is 1,000mm to compensate for the unevenness on route. The minimum height is 1.65m and maximum 2.65m. ABILITY TO CLIMB STEEP SLOPES As all the wheels are drive axles on the All Terrain Transporters, the climbing ability of the transporters is roughly 15% gradient. 16 17
SAFETY FEATURES, THE FUTURE & ENGINEERING SAFETY FEATURES, THE FUTURE & ENGINEERING SAFETY FEATURES The All Terrain Transporters have been designed in accordance with the most stringent safety regulations. The All Terrain Transporters were designed with safety in mind, with options to have the cab on top or on the front and lights on the outside. ENGINEERING AND FEED SUPPORT Our experience and pedigree in innovative engineering means we re well equipped to support the process of project development in early engineering and FEED. ALE has contributed to many high profile projects at the forefront of technological innovation. In the long term we will continue to meet the industry s ever-changing demands and improving safety standards. In the short term we are able to adapt as the scope of each project becomes more defined. We work closely with our clients from the very earliest stages, providing engineering advice to establish exactly what is required. We believe that working through complex technical and logistical issues at the outset helps to eliminate expensive changes later. THE FUTURE ALE s R&D facility continues to focus on improving current equipment and creating new solutions for the industry. Having a dedicated development facility gives our highly skilled engineers a platform from which to push the boundaries of design. With this expertise and a close working relationship with our clients, we have gained a comprehensive understanding of the market to develop equipment to meet both current and future demand. ALE is committed to proactively meeting the needs of our clients. Our foundations are not built as an equipment rental company, we actively develop solutions to challenges faced by clients and solve them through innovation. 18 19
