Determining the right solution for your vehicle and your requirements demands special attention to many factors. Unlike numerous aftermarket suspension systems, which are only available in a single configuration targeting lift height, OME offers a range of tuned and matched integrated suspension systems to ensure the right suspension is available to suit how the vehicle is outfitted and the conditions it will encounter. The EMU engineer s objective was to develop an integrated suspension system for the Nissan Navara NP300 both coil spring and leaf spring variants. The key areas that were considered were lift, load carrying and comfort. The leaf spring and rear coil spring variants share the same front suspension set up but selection varies depending on the engine variant as weights differ. Rear suspension selection is available for both leaf spring and coil spring variants with no common parts shared between the 2 different suspension set ups. Front suspension: s: Three spring options were chosen to cater for No Bar, Bar and Bar/Winch vehicle setups. Trim packers have been developed to assist in fine tuning ride height that may be caused by various accessory fitments. Factory geometry allowed for a 20-30mm lift to be achieved as the amount of down travel is limited by the upper control arm and its range of motion. Struts: An extensive development and tuning project was undertaken to correctly match the ride quality to the spring rate and extra time was spent to balance the level of control vs. comfort. An extra 10mm of travel and improved shock tuning has resulted in a more comfortable ride while maintaining excellent control in both on road and off road applications. Rear suspension: Coil s: A 30mm lift was achieved and chosen to match the 20-30mm front lift specifications. The OME engineers have developed a range of 4 springs to improve ride quality and cater for different loading options. With rates being higher than OE, these progressive rate springs have a higher load carry capability while still remaining comfortable on long off road trips. Medium loads (0kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 0-200kgs) Constant 200kg (200kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 200-400kgs) Constant 400kg (400kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 400kg plus) Constant 600kg (600kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 600kg plus) Shock Absorbers: To provide comfort, control and to cater for the four spring options, two new tuned and matched shock absorbers were developed. Primarily the medium shock absorber (60136) was designed around comfort, while not compromising on the control needed in off road situations. Whilst the heavier shock absorber (60137) has greater on centre feel and control, which is required when carrying larger loads. Rear shock length was increased by 30mm to improve wheel travel. Fit Kit: With extending the rear shock length it was necessary to relocate the sway bar link to allow for further travel and prevent inversion of the link. FK 85 has solved this issue and is a mandatory fitment. FK 85 also includes a rear potentiometer bracket to restore factory geometry. Leaf spring: With a large payload capacity, the factory leaf spring design was orientated towards load carrying and at times affected the ride quality. This provided the OME engineers with the opportunity to create a range of 3 springs and an extra leaf option to improve ride quality and cater for different loading options. Medium loads (0kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 0-300kg) Constant 300kg (300kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 300-600kg) Constant 600kg (600kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 600kg plus) Shock Absorbers: To provide comfort, control and to cater for the three spring options, two new tuned and matched shock absorbers were developed. Fit kit: A bump stop spacer (FK83) was created to redistribute compression and rebound travel and is a mandatory fitment.
