The Services are provided by meas of a SIM card istalled i the vehicle. Charges for the speech ad data coectios are icluded i the price for the Services. 2. BMW CoectedDrive basic services The BMW CoectedDrive basic services Teleservices (6AE) ad Itelliget Emergecy Call (6AC) have already bee activated at the poit of vehicle trasfer. I the case of BMWi vehicles, the basic services will iclude Remote Services (SA6AP) as a additioal basic service. a. Teleservices (SA6AE) The Service Teleservices is aimed at maitaiig the customer s mobility. Techical data for the vehicle (e.g. service iformatio o the wear ad tear of idividual parts, vehicle status iformatio such as cotrol messages, battery charge level, data for idetifyig ad localizig the vehicle i the evet of a breakdow) are trasmitted to BMW as required or if this process is triggered or ordered by the customer himself/herself. I the case of a service requiremet, these data, together with the ame ad the email address of the customer as stored withi the BMW CoectedDrive customer portal, will be forwarded via the SIM card permaetly istalled i the vehicle to the resposible Service Parter, BMW Roadside Assistace or appropriate service provider for the purpose of establishig cotact or arragig a appoitmet. These data will be stored by the recipiet util the operatios have bee duly processed. No additioal trasfer of the data to third parties takes place. Techical data are trasmitted from the vehicle to BMW at regular itervals, where they are evaluated for the cotiuig developmet of BMW products, i a process called the Teleservice Report. This exclusively ivolves purely techical data relatig to the status of the vehicle. Other data, such as positio data, are ot trasmitted withi the scope of the Teleservice Report. The Teleservice Battery Guard cotiuously ispects the battery chargig status of the vehicle. If the battery chargig status falls below a defied level, iformatio to this effect is trasmitted to the resposible Service parter, who will, if ecessary, establish cotact with the customer i order to arrage a service appoitmet. By registerig i the BMW CoectedDrive customer portal ( My BMW CoectedDrive ), the customer ca also arrage to be otified of a critical battery chargig status due to a parkig light havig bee left switched o by text message or, i the case of BMWi, by push mail. b. For BMWi vehicles oly: The Teleservice Battery Guard cotiuously moitors the battery-charge status of the vehicle. If the battery-charge status falls below a fixed value, the resposible service parter will be iformed. The resposible service parter will the cotact the customer if ecessary to arrage a service appoitmet. By registerig i the BMW CoectedDrive Customer Portal, the customer ca also be iformed about a critical battery status by text message or, for BMWi by push mail, by meas of illumiated side or parkig lights. Additioal vehicle status iformatio icludes iformatio about the locatio of the vehicle ad iformatio about the chargig status, data about every begi, ed, iterruptio ad errors durig chargig as well as turig o ad off the vehicle is set from the vehicle to BMW ad received by the BMW Car IT GmbH. This data is used for verificatio ad quality assessmet of chargig statios. Verified ad assessed chargig statios will be displayed to the customer i the avigatio system, BMW Olie, BMW Remote App ad i the CoectedDrive Customer Portal. The service Commuity first requires the coset of the customer withi the customer portal or i the BMW Remote App. The service Rage Map, Route to Vehicle, Vehicle Positio uses vehicle status iformatio as well as iformatio about the locatio of the vehicle, that every time the vehicle is tured off is set from the vehicle to BMW. This data is used to represet the geographical positio of the vehicle, which is display i the BMW Remote App ad i the CoectedDrive Customer Portal. c. Itelliget Emergecy Call (SA6AC) Whe the crash sesors are activated (air bag deploymet, frot seat belt tesioers, etc.) the Service Emergecy Call triggers a emergecy call to the BMW emergecy switchboard via the itegrated telephoe uit. The data are trasmitted to the service provider commissioed by BMW to perform the Services, who uses them for purposes of maagig the service provisio ad stores them util the operatios have bee duly processed. Automatic Map Update (depedig o the vehicle equipmet) The Service Automatic Map Update automatically updates the map data stored i the BMW avigatio system of the home coutry up to four times a year. Aoymous evaluatio of sesor data ad usage iformatio for data quality ehacemets ad product developmet For the purpose of ehacig service data quality ad product developmet, vehicle sesor data of the surroudig traffic ifrastructure (usually supplemeted with time ad locatio referece iformatio), the vehicle status ad additioal usage iformatio are beig evaluated withi the vehicle, trasferred to BMW ad aoymised immediately. It is impossible to trace the aoymised vehicle sesor data ad usage iformatio back to a idividual customer. This vehicle sesor data icludes (amogst others) iformatio about traffic sigs, traffic lights, costructio sites, local hazards, traffic flow, road characteristics, parkig spots, or vehicle error etries. For example, iformatio about traffic sigs are beig used to ehace map data quality ad to optimize route guidace. Local hazards like fog are beig used to ehace data quality of traffic iformatio ad to avoid accidets. The usage iformatio is collected to create aoymous usage statistics about the system fuctioality. Based o this iformatio BMW is cotiuously ehacig the experiece ad quality of its products ad services. The trasmissio of vehicle sesor data to BMW is activated by default. The trasmissio of vehicle sesor data ca also be deactivated completely by a customer. To esure that this aim is met, the iformatio services provided withi the scope of BMW Olie udergo regular ispectio. As a cosequece of this ispectio, it is ot oly possible for further iformatio services ad fuctioalities to be added but also for idividual iformatio services or costituet parts thereof to be removed from the BMW Olie portfolio temporarily or eve permaetly. Use of the Service requires idetificatio of the vehicle ad processig of the iformatio eeded for providig assistace. The data are subsequetly deleted. Sed to Car The Service Sed to Car provides the optio of trasmittig complete address data records from the customer s persoal computer directly to the vehicle via My BMW CoectedDrive. This ca take place either before or durig the jourey. Addresses ca be trasferred to the telephoe directory or to the avigatio system as a destiatio. The Service Sed to Car is supplemeted by the Sed to Car fuctios. Addresses ca be foud o Google Maps o the Iteret ad the set directly to the vehicle by the driver. This also applies to the Service HRS Sed to Car, which eables the address data record for a hotel room booked with the Hotel Reservatio Service (HRS) to be trasferred from the driver s ow PC to the vehicle. Real Time Traffic Iformatio (SA6AM) The Real Time Traffic Iformatio ( RTTI - SA6AM) service is activated for 36 moths after first registratio. The customer ca exted the service for a additioal charge beyod the iitial period via the BMW CoectedDrive Customer Portal. The traffic iformatio required for the service is calculated by a variety of meas icludig usig what is kow as Floatig Car Data. I this sese, every CoectedDrive-capable BMW fuctios as a mobile traffic reporter (Floatig Car). The idividual positio ad sesor data of the vehicle calculated durig the trip is trasferred completely aoymously to BMW ad a service provider together with up-to-date time iformatio. 6. Remote Services (SA6AP) Registratio o My BMW CoectedDrive at www.bmw-coecteddrive.de is a prerequisite for the Remote Services (SA6AP) fuctio. This Service has to be booked oce ad ca the be used for a ulimited period of time. Usig this Service, the customer ca lock or ulock his/her vehicle from a distace via smartphoe ad, i the case of selected vehicles, soud the hor ad flash the lights. At the customer s request, vehicle coditio iformatio, such as the geographic vehicle positio are trasmitted from the vehicle to BMW. Furthermore, with the special equipmet optio of auxiliary heatig, the customer ca also programme the heatig periods. The BMW CoectedDrive ad My BMW Remote App applicatios are available for iphoe i the Apple App StoreSM ad for AdroidTM i Google PlayTM.
