1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Open the hood. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Remove the radiator cover (ten clips and four retaining tabs). 5. Remove the air duct cover (two clips), and pull it out toward you. Remove the air duct by pulling it out toward you. 6. Remove and discard the fog light cover from the front bumper (five retaining tabs). 8. Route the 2-pin connector end of the fog light harness in front of the radiator along the vehicle harness. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector through the front bulkhead and alongside the vehicle harness. 2-PIN 9. Remove and discard the lower bolt that secures the hood latch bracket. Using one ground bolt and the washer supplied, attach the fog light harness ground terminal to the hood latch bracket. 10. On the left side of the vehicle, secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with five wire ties in the areas shown. Push the fog light harness clip into the hole in the body panel. 11. On the right side of the vehicle, secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with a wire tie at the green tape. 14. Remove the two bolts that fasten the under-hood fuse/relay box. S FUSE/ BOX BOLTS BOLT WIRE TIE WIRE TIE GREEN TAPE (Do not allow the harness to contact the air conditioner pipe.) 12. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with three wire ties. 13. If equipped, remove the sub fuse box (one retaining tab). SUB FUSE BOX 5411042P AIR CLEANER HOUSING COVER BOLT (Remove.) 15. Remove the one bolt that fastens the air cleaner housing cover. 16. Release the six retaining tabs, and remove the under-hood fuse/relay box under cover. 17. Raise the under-hood fuse/relay box. 19. Unplug the vehicle 14-pin and 20-pin connectors from the under-hood fuse/relay box. Release the FUSE/ BOX (Raise.) lock on the vehicle 14-pin connector, and insert the fog light harness blue wire terminal into the vehicle 14-pin connector. Reattach the lock on the 14-pin connector. 14-PIN UNDER- HOOD FUSE/ BOX FUSE/ BOX UNDER COVER 4803040Y 18. Release the lock on the vehicle 20-pin connector, and insert the fog light harness blue/red wire terminal into the vehicle 20-pin connector. Reattach the lock on the 20-pin connector. 21. 22. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with one short wire tie in the area shown. FUSE/ BOX FUSE/ BOX UNDER COVER SHORT FOG 23. Reinstall the under-hood fuse/relay box under cover. Be careful not to pinch the wires. 4804010Y 25. Under the under-hood fuse/relay box, locate the vehicle 3-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness, and remove the blue tape to free the connector. Connect the fog light harness 3-pin connector into the 3-pin connector you just freed. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with four wire ties in the area shown. NOTE: If the 3-pin connector is already used by another accessory, locate the 3-pin connector taped to that other accessory harness. Remove the tape and dummy connector from that other accessory harness. Plug the fog light harness 3-pin connector into that other accessory harness. 3-PIN OTHER ACCESSORY 3-PIN 3-PIN 27. Plug the fog light harness 4-pin connector into the relay, and install the relay bracket to the vehicle frame.. L4 Model: Install the relay bracket to the vehicle frame with the washer-bolt supplied. If equipped with the vehicle bracket, remove the mounting bolt that secures the vehicle bracket, and attach the relay bracket using the vehicle bracket bolt. BRACKET (If equipped.) 28. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with three wire ties in the areas shown. 30. Attach the 20A fuse label over the No.10 spot of the under-hood fuse/relay box cover. Reinstall the under-hood fuse/relay box cover. FUSE LABEL (20A) FUSE/ BOX COVER No.10 29. Remove the under-hood fuse/relay box cover (four retaining tabs), and install the 20A fuse (provided) into the No. 10 slot of the relay box. Installing Fog Lights (Left Side) 31. Using a utility knife, cut the front bumper in the areas shown. Cut out. 32. Slide two spring nuts onto the front bumper from the inner side. SPRING NUT BUMPER 34. Install the left fog light on the left fog light trim using two 4 mm step screws and one 4 x 8 mm washer-screw. LEFT FOG TRIM 4 mm STEP SCREW 4 mm STEP SCREW 4 x 8 mm WASHER- SCREW LEFT FOG 5411220Y 33. Install the left fog light bracket onto the front bumper with two 5 x 16 mm self-tapping screws. BUMPER 5411240Y 35. Install the 5 x 16 mm washer-screw and screw lock on the left fog light trim as shown. 36. Install the fog light harness clip on the left fog light bracket. Routing the Switch Harness 40. Remove the driver s dashboard lower cover: LEFT FOG BRACKET CLIP 2-PIN Remove the one self-tapping screw. Release the four clips on the left side first by pulling out on the driver s dashboard lower cover. BUMPER After releasing the four clips, insert a flat-tip screwdriver between the clip and the dashboard frame. Gently twist the screwdriver to release the clip. Release the two clips on the right side last. Unplug the vehicle connector, and remove the lower cover. RETAINING TAB 5 x 16 mm WASHER- SCREW INSTALLED IN STEP 35 LEFT FOG 5411262Y CLIP (Release these clips first.) 37. Connect the fog light harness 2-pin connector to the left fog light. 38. Align the two retaining tabs on the left fog light trim with the corresponding slots in the front bumper, and install the left fog light onto the front bumper using the 5 x 16 mm washer-screw that you installed in step 35. 39. Repeat steps 31 through 38 to install the right fog light. CLIPS (7) DRIVER S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER SELF- TAPPING SCREW FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER CLIP (Release these clips last.) 41. If equipped, remove the driver s dashboard under cover (three clips, one pin, and one holder). HOLDER NOTE: If the fuse box 6-pin connector is already being used by another accessory, unplug the 6-pin connector from the under-dash fuse/relay box. Locate the 6-pin connector taped to the switch harness. Remove the dummy connector from the switch harness. Plug the other accessory harness 6-pin connector the into switch harness, and plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the underdash fuse/relay box. 6-PIN DUMMY OTHER ACCESSORY 6-PIN PIN CLIPS (3) DRIVER S DASHBOARD UNDER COVER 42. Plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the 6-pin connector in the under-dash fuse/relay box. 6-PIN UNDER-DASH FUSE/ BOX 43. Route the switch harness 5-pin connector (blue) along the vehicle harness to the body panel opening. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie in the area shown. 44. Behind the steering hanger pipe, locate the 2-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness. Connect the switch harness 2-pin connector to the vehicle 2-pin connector. 45. On the left of the steering shaft, locate the 3-pin connector black-taped to the vehicle harness, and plug the switch harness 3-pin connector in the 3-pin connector. 2-PIN STEERING HANGER PIPE 3-PIN STEERING SHAFT 2-PIN 3-PIN 5411350Y NOTE: If the 2-pin connector is already being used by another accessory, locate the 2-pin connector taped to that other accessory harness. Remove the dummy connector from that other accessory harness. Plug the switch harness 3-pin connector into the other accessory harness. 46. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness with six wire ties in the areas shown. 48. If equipped, reinstall the driver s dashboard under cover. HOLDER CLIPS (3) DRIVER S DASHBOARD UNDER COVER PIN 47. Remove the switch lid from the driver s side dashboard lower cover, and install the fog light switch in the driver s dashboard lower cover. HOLE 49. 50. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 51. Reinstall all removed parts. Check that all clips and fasteners are installed securely. 52. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. USE AND CARE How to Operate Fog Lights Turn the light switch to the on position (headlights on low beam ). Press the fog light switch (indicator is on). The fog light lenses can cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather. Fog Light Aiming Adjustment 53. Adjust the fog light: Adjust the aiming according to local laws and regulations. To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment screw in or out until the correct aiming is obtained. 54. Reset the clock, and reset the radio station presets. 55. Do the ECU idle learn procedure. Make sure all electrical items are turned off. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on. Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed and with all electrical items off. NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on during this step, the time when it is operating must not be included in the 5 minutes. NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver s window AUTO function is disabled. 56. Start the engine. Push down on the driver s window switch until the window is fully open. 57. Pull up on the driver s window switch fully to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 2 seconds. 58. Test the driver s window AUTO function. BULB REPLACEMENT 1. Loosen the screw inside the hole of the fog light trim, and pull the fog light trim toward you. 2. Disconnect the fog light harness 2-pin connector, and remove the fog light from the front bumper. 4. Install the new bulb into the socket. BUMPER Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N 33165-S5A-003 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mind detergent solution. Align the tab on the fog light with the cutout in the bulb when installing the new bulb. If not aligned, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers. SCREW LEFT FOG 5411383Y 3. Remove the bulb. SOCKET FOG NEW BULB 5411400Y 5. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. Be sure to tighten the screw securely. 6.
