Barak5/3 Printer General: Drain the Water Filter by opening the drain tap. Drain the Oil Filter by opening the drain tap. Clean, check, or replace: Only use alcohol for cleaning components. Do NOT use solvent. Clean the Free Fall and the Flat Bed rollers with industrial alcohol. Clean the Rubber Rollers (Y & W) with industrial alcohol. Clean the Metal Rollers with industrial alcohol. Clean the Printing Table with industrial alcohol. Clean the Media Sensor with industrial alcohol. Clean the end of the Media Sensor with industrial alcohol. Check and remove the cured ink in the Purge sink. Check and the Waste Ink Tank. Check and if necessary, replace the UV filters. Check and, if necessary, replace the Ink Filters. Check that the UV Bulbs are working correctly (ink is fully cured in all modes) and replace them if necessary; otherwise, replace them every 1,000 hours. Check that both the UV glasses are clean. Check that the INIT procedure works. 2
Barak5/3 Printer Motors: Make sure that all motors are working: X motor. Y motor In addition, check that the Motor s screws are tight. Z motor. T motor. F motor. Pistons: Make sure that all the pistons are working properly: The Press Roller is moving up correctly. The Y & T Rollers are moving up to the Flatbed position The Free Fall Pistons are working. The Flatbed Pistons are working. The Print Cover Pistons (UV Protection cover). Emergency Stop: Activate one of the Emergency Stop Buttons and check that the Hood opens. Activate the Emergency Stop Cord and check that the Hood opens Print Heads: Purge, clean and perform a "Nozzle Test". Check the Print Heads alignment and if necessary, adjust it. After contacting Matan Support, if authorized, replace the Print Head if it is not working properly or there are missing nozzles. Do a Nozzle Test Print, and keep it for your records. 3
Check that the left UV lamp is working. Open the Lamp and check that all screws are well tightened (use Loctite 272 or Nural 30 to tight screws) Turn ON : Yes No Shutter Open/Close : Yes No Fan Working : Yes No Using a voltmeter on leg #K5 and K6, check that there is 11 17v. Check right UV lamp is working. Open the Lamp and check all screws are well tightened. Software: Carry out a Back-Up to the primary BARAK FE Directory. Power up the Barak PC and carry out the Scandisk routine. Only in the presence of the customer, delete any unwanted temporary files. Upgrade the PLC and/or Motion versions if needed. (make sure to have the Plug for the PLC Upgrade). Upgrade the Barak FE version. Check the printer s parameters such as Speed, etc. 4
Mechanics / Electronics: Tighten critical screws (Electric Cabinet, Heads Cables, Electronics, and Pneumatic, UV lamps etc). Check that the X Motor and the Gear are firmly attached to each other. If necessary, remove all the screws and use Loctite #272 to attach the components again. Make sure that the air & ink connections are well connected and there is no leakage sweating. If necessary, use Loctite #542. Check that the Press Pistons are moving correctly, and adjust them if necessary. Make sure that all cables are firmly connected. (If any adjustments have to be made, don t forget to turn off the printer. Check that there is no damage to the Carriage Rails by manually disconnecting the X Motor Power Cable, moving the Carriage from Right to Left and back. Don t forget to reconnect the cable. Make sure that the Left & Right Limit switches are working correctly. Make sure that the "Init" procedure is working. Check the log file for frequent errors, copy the current log to your Hard Disk. If there is a problem, send this file to Matan Support. Make sure that all the sensors are working properly: Media Measure Sensor. End of Media Sensor. Vacuum Sensor (valve between 0.8-1.0). Funnel / Sink Sensor. Print Cover (UV protection cover). Roller Pistons. 5
