BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT Transylvania Motorway is a four-lane highway with a length of 415 km, roadway length of 26.00 m, each of the 2 lanes on each carriageway with a width of 15.00 m (2 x 7.50 m), 300 bridges, overpasses and viaducts on the motorway, 73 passes over the motorway and 19 road junctions. The motorway route heads north-west from Brasov to Oradea, towards the border with Hungary and serves the cities of Brasov, Fagaras, Sighisoara, Tg. Mures, Cluj West and Oradea. For constructive reasons, Transylvania Motorway was divided into 8 sections, as follows: Section 1A, Brasov - Fagaras - 48.81 kilometers Section 1B Fagaras - Sighisoara - 53.37 kilometers Section 1C, Sighisoara - Ogra - 58 km Section 2A, Ogra - Câmpia Turzii - 37.19 km Section 2B, Câmpia Turzii - Cluj West - 52.55 km Section 3A, Cluj West Mihailesti - 25.5 km Section 3B, Mihailesti - Suplacu of Barcau - 75.48 kilometers Section 3C, Suplacu de Barcau - Bors - 64.5 km In September 2011, the second Amendment to the agreement for the construction of Brasov - Cluj - Bors Motorway concluded with Bechtel Int. Inc. was approved by Government Decision no. 943/2011. According to this Amendment, only sections 2B and 3C will be completed by Bechtel Int. Inc. under the construction agreement; the works for the other sections will be contracted in compliance with public procurement legislation, after proper reassessment and optimization of the s. The public procurement procedure for the agreement for the design and construction of Section West Cluj (Gilau) - Nadaselu, 8.7 km, was started in august 2012. The agreement is in signing stage. Following negotiations with the European Commission to revise the TEN-T network, the other sections of Transylvania Motorway became eligible to be financed with European funds, starting from 2014. 7. ESTIMATED PROJECT SCHEDULE In connection with the completion of the design for several sections, review of existing Feasibility Studies and the schedule of public procurement contracts (execution). 7
