CARBON COMPOSITE MATERIALS Nowadays carbon composite materials is the most advanced technology for modern braking systems. High specific heat capacity, low specific weight, constantly high coefficient of friction make these materials particularly effective in braking systems of civil and military aircraft, sports cars, motorbikes and other vehicles. Next generation materials such as Termar-КV (carbon-carbon family) and Tersil-FG (carbon-silicon carbide family) are currently at the test stage. These materials have higher oxidation, abrasion and heat resistance, they are not susceptible to negative influence of humidity and other factors. 9 2 Buran Spacecraft The success of worldwide-known programmes "Proton", "Buran" and numerous others is largely due to the end-use of our products. These are for example miniature autonomous hydraulic systems, powerful pumps, hydraulic motors for missile control actuators, heavy-duty brakes, fly-by-wire braking systems, bench testing equipment for launch complexes. MISSILE AND SPACE SYSTEMS Rubin Aviation Corporation is making a significant contribution to the supply process of highly reliable units and systems for missile and space programmes that meet the stringent requirements for aerospace objects. Special attention is paid to fundamental requirements such as volume and weight. Rubin Aviation Corporation is the successor of the pilot plant 279 one of the first specialized companies of Minaviaprom (Ministry of Aviation Industry (Soviet Union) created for development of aircraft landing gears, brake and hydraulic systems and their components. A great contribution to the formation of the enterprise activity, organization of production and testing, establishment of a team of experts was made by its first chief designers and executive officers Trifon Bashta and Ivan Zverev. During that time the plant has acquired necessary machinery and testing equipment for production of the entire product range. Rubin formed a strong design bureau and necessary departments and, most importantly, the factory has trained highly qualified designers, engineers, testers, machine operators and other specialists. Fifth-generation aircraft In the beginning of the 90's due to decisions taken by CEO Boris Okulov the policy of expanding international cooperation was adopted and a number of contracts on Mig and Su supplies were signed. It helped Rubin to withstand negative changes in Russian economy. Hydromotors for flight control actuators and main pump of Buran According to the specialists T-50 fighter jet has all the best that Russian aerospace industry has ever had. A great deal of credit must go to the team of Rubin specialists that have been working for 5 years to develop a number of units for T-50 fighter jet including nose wheel, main brake wheels, control units, brake system, fuel and hydraulic pumps,hydromotors. New target characteristics required revolutionary ideas and engineering design that was only possible to implement with new machinery and testing equipment. For example earlier test bench for brake systems required pressure equal to 280 kgf/cm 2. For the new fighter jet the level of pressure increased up to 350 kgf/cm 2. 7 4 HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS UNITS INTEGRATED CONSTANT-SPEED GENERATORS Rubin Aviation Corporation designs and manufactures motor-driven pumps, hydraulic motors, fluid flow control units, hydraulic converters and other aircraft hydraulic systems units. Application of stable frequency sources in aircraft electric power units made it possible to significantly reduce mass of an aircraft and to provide necessary quality of electric current. Rubin Aviation Corporation has developed and manufactured several generations of hydromechanical drive generators fully satisfying the needs of aircraft industry. Tu-204-300 Significant results have been achieved in this field based on many years of experience. Parametric range of key units has been developed to satisfy the demands of aviation industry for the whole pressure range up to 350 kg/cm 2 and flow rate over 300 l/min.
