Add washer fluid such as Ultra-Clear Windshield Washer Concentrate (diluted to proper concentration) ZC-16-A,-B or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M17P5-A, as necessary to fill. B6 Brake Master Cylinder If the master cylinder reservoir is excessively low, inspect the brake system for leakage. To check brake fluid level, visually inspect the level through the translucent master cylinder reservoir. 1. The brake fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX level marks on the side of the reservoir. On reservoirs with only a MAX mark, the fluid must be within 4 mm (0.16 inch) of the MAX mark. 2. If the brake fluid level is low, carefully clean and remove the reservoir cap and fill to the MAX level. CAUTION: When adding brake fluid to the brake reservoir, avoid spilling fluid onto the vehicle s plastic panels, including the instrument panel. If brake fluid is spilled on any surface, wash it immediately with soap and water to prevent cracking, discoloration, or other damage. 3. Check the retractors for full extension, retraction and retention of the safety belt. 4. Check the safety belt buckle and clasp for proper retention, release, and length adjustment. 9

F6 Lights It is important to inspect for proper operation of lamps and instrument cluster gauge indicators, because it is evident to the new owner if there is a concern. Check the following lamps and indicators for proper operation of switches and brightness: Headlamps Taillamps, Brake Lamps, Including Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp Turn Signals Hazard Warning Flashers Marker Lamps Instrument Cluster Gauge Indicators Check the detent action and return of the turn signal lever by making full left and right turns during the road test. Refer to the Owner s Guide for more information on the indicators to check during pre-delivery. F8 Instruments for Proper Operation Verify that the instrument cluster gauge operates properly during the road test. F12 Parking Brake (Including Brake Status Indicator) 1.
