Please read and follow these steps before beginning the installation. These products may represent a potential shock or fire hazard if improperly installed or attached in any way. Products should be installed in accordance with these instructions, current electrical codes and/or the National Electric Code (NEC). DANGER/RISK OF SHOCK: Do not connect directly to high voltage power (120v-277v)! WARNING: To avoid electrical shock, disconnect or disable power at the source prior to installation or maintenance. To avoid electrical shock, use only with 12v or 24v DC hardwire or plug-in power supply. Factory warranty will be void is used otherwise. To avoid product failure, pair the correct voltage power supply to the correct voltage Linear LED e.g. 24v Linear LED with a 24v power supply. Factory warranty will be void if used otherwise. Do not energize Linear LED lighting when rolled up in it s spool. LLIA s Linear LED products are UL listed. Uncoated products are intended for indoor use in dry locations. Coated products are intended for outdoor use in damp /wet locations; Solid Silicone (SS) - IP68, Silicone Covered (SC) - IP67, Resin Dipped (RD) - IP65. Solid Silicone (SS) and TPU products are wet rated and can be submerged. Do not use if there is any damage to the unit or to the wiring insulation. Inspect periodically. Do not route cords or Linear LED through walls, doors, windows or any similar part of a building structure. Do not secure Linear LED or it s power cord with staples, nails, or any other sharp objects that may cause damage. Do not install Linear LED lighting closer than 6 to combustible material. Ensure proper gauge wires are installed between Power Supplies, Controls & Linear LED to avoid voltage drop. Ensure applicable wires are in compliance with local codes (In-wall rated, wet-location, high temperature, etc.). Maximum load for power supplies is 80%. ***If you have any questions or concerns about your installation, please call our Technical Specialists at 847.412.4880*** 2

Prep Linear LED for Installation STEP 1 STEP 2 Remove the Linear LED spool from it s package and un-roll the LEDs. Measure the location where the Linear LED will be placed and identify the cut point of the Linear LED. The cut point be marked with a black line or a small scissors image. STEP 3 STEP 4 Cut the Linear LED to the desired length. Make sure you cut along the marked line and that the cut is straight. Peel back about a ¼ inch of the red backing and the adhesive tape, exposing the copper pads on the back of the Linear LED. NOTE: This product can be interconnected and energized by soldering leads to the copper pads. Soldering allows the uncoated Linear LED to fit tight spaces. NOTE: The Linear LED lighting only installs in one direction, load from top of connector only. The top of the connector has a red dot. If the Linear LED is installed upside down, it will not light. Linear LED end must have a straight cut for solid contact with connector. 4
Slide Connector Installation STEP 5a STEP 5b Carefully pull and extend the black clip on the connector. Push the Linear LED lighting into the space between the clip and the connector and push the black clip back. STEP 6a STEP 6b Carefully unsnap the cover on the connector. Push the Linear LED lighting into the groove on the connector so that the lighting contacts are positioned under the connector tabs. Push the cover back onto the connector. Ensure that the connector cover clicks and locks securely. ATTENTION- If you are mounting the Linear LED without channel follow steps 7-9, if you are mounting the Linear LED with channel please skip to step 10. 5
Installation without Channel/Lens IMPORTANT: Prior to mounting the Linear LED, please ensure the surface is clean and free of any loose debris. STEP 7 STEP 8 Remove the red adhesive backing from the Linear LED lighting and carefully place against the mounting surface. After mounting the Linear LED lighting ensure the assembly is flat against the surface. Secure lead wire from connector with the appropriate fastener. STEP 9 If you are interconnecting Linear LED sections you must use appropriate connector. NOTE: If you are done interconnecting your Linear LED, install the proper gauge wire from the power supply to the LED section. Please refer to the LLIA voltage drop chart on Page 9. Connect the low voltage wires to the leads attached to the Linear LED. 6
Installation with Channel/Lens IMPORTANT: Verify that the Linear LED and connector width are sized properly to fit into the channel with no interference to the lens. STEP 10 STEP 11 Measure the channel and cut to the desired length. Make sure to accommodate the profile of the endcap and the desired length for your Linear LED before cutting. Pull the wires through the endcap(s) and remove red adhesive backing from the Linear LED lighting. STEP 12 STEP 13 Carefully place inside the aluminum channel and place endcaps onto ends of channel. Ensure a tight fit between the channel and endcaps. LENS OPTION: Measure the opening for the lens between the endcaps. Cut lens to desired length and insert into channel. 7
STEP 14 Measure the channel and cut to the desired length. Make sure to accommodate the profile of the endcap and the desired length for your Linear LED before cutting. NOTE: This product can be wired and interconnected by soldering directly to the solder pads. Soldering allows the Linear LED to fit into tight spaces. NOTE: The Linear LED only installs in one direction, load from top of connector only. The top of the connector has a red dot. If the Linear LED is installed upside down, it will not light. Linear LED must be cut straight for solid contact with connector. IMPORTANT: Polarity is crucial for the operation of the Linear LED lighting. Please ensure that your wiring corresponds with the polarity of each copper pad. Power Supply & Receiver Setup STEP 15 STEP 16 Locate and route power feed wire back to power supply. Mount power supply in desired location and connect Single Color Linear vled to low voltage output of power supply. Connect the power supply to AC power/line voltage. Please refer to the wiring diagram of the power supply being used. Each power supply has it s own specific wiring. 8
