Standard solenoid valves with a surge killer (option ode "N") are very effetive to eliminate sparks. However, adequate onsideration should e given to the servie life of the relay to avoid ontat welding due to inrush urrent at solenoid exitation. In appliations where ontat welding due to inrush urrent is expeted, solenoid valves with a surge killer (with resistane) (option ode "NR") are effetive. Note, however, they are not as effetive as standard solenoid valves with a surge killer (option ode "N") in terms of elimination of sparks. When using solenoid valves without a surge killer, adequate onsideration should e given to protetion against the reverse surge voltage generated at demagnetization of the solenoid. (It is advisale to inorporate a surge asoring element suh as a varistor in the iruit.) Be areful aout the polarity (+/ ) when wiring the terminal ox (6) for the M12-4-pin onnetor type.
