Refuel Systems Fuel Management System Specification Revision RS1.01 Part 1 General 1.1 GENERAL.1 Provide a pre-packaged factory assembled fuel management system that provides filtration of stored distillate fuel on a timed cycle. The fuel management system shall be integrated with a control panel to provide motor control, system status, alarm indication, and have the capability to be integrated with building control systems. Part 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 ENCLOSURE.1 Filtration system must be protected in a NEMA rated enclosure complete with lifting points. 2.2 PUMP AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY.1 Base mounted, TEFC motor and positive displacement rotary gear pump with cast iron or bronze housing..2 The pump shall be an industrial type intended for continuous heavy duty service..3 Motor to be protected with splash guard..4 Capacity.1 Pump fluid: #2 fuel oil and fatty acid methyl esters (Biodiesel) blends.2 Flow rate: 0.5 L/s.3 Motor 1/2HP, 120V, 1ph, 60Hz, 1750 rpm, TEFC
2.3 FILTRATION SYSTEM.1 Proprietary filter canister with replaceable filter element shall.1 Extract water to 0.009% volume/volume.2 Remove particles down to 0.2 microns.2 The filtration system must work with low sulphur diesel (LSD), ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD) and fatty acid methyl ester (Biodiesel) blends. 2.4 INTERNAL PIPING.1 All internal piping to consist of 316 Stainless steel piping using socket weld and meet ASME 33.3..2 Approved stainless steel flex lines to be used to reduce pump vibration and noise. 2.5 FILTER HOUSING/CANISTER.1 Proprietary stainless steel canister capable of housing a variety of different media sizes. 2.6 CONTROLLER.1 Programmable Logic Controller to ensure automatic fuel maintenance. Automatic start and run time as per manufacturer recommendations. The controller shall be safeguarded against re-configuration by unauthorized/unqualified personnel. The controller shall be complete with local:.1 Alarm for spill detection.2 Water removal.3 Differential pressure indication.4 All alarms to be visible from front panel 2.7 AUXILIARIES.1 Drip tray; pressure transmitters; switch over valves; pressure gauges.
2.8 MANUFACTURER.1 Acceptable Material: Refuel Systems. Part 3 EXECUTION 3.1 External Piping.1 Install fuel oil #2 piping in accordance with ASME B33.3, National Fire Code of Canada and CCME Environmental Code or Practice for Above Ground and Underground Storage Tank Systems Containing Petroleum and Allied petroleum products..2 Manufactures Authorized Agent must inspect existing infrastructure with qualified technician prior to installation and commissioning to ensure existing infrastructure meets existing codes and best practices. Manufactures authorized agent may supply contractor with list of deficiencies to be completed prior to installation and commissioning..3 Assemble pipe and fittings manufactured in accordance to ANSI Standards..4 Connect to equipment in accordance with manufacturer s instructions unless otherwise indicated..5 Use eccentric reducers at pipe size change installed to provide positive drainage..6 Provide clearances for access and maintenance of equipment, valves and fittings.7 Ream pipes, clean scale and dirt, inside and out. 3.5 FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.1 Onsite installations and commissioning shall be performed by manufacturer s authorized service representative.
.2 Manufacturer shall provide a customized professional maintenance program for the filtration systems including the following:.1 Inspection and test of equipment..2 Filter element replacement..3 Annual ISO and water fuel test..4 Preventative maintenance..5 These activities shall be directed on a (quarterly/semi annual) basis based on the quality of initial fuel test prior to commissioning by the manufacturers authorized service representative..3 The equipment being maintained is to be covered under the Parts and Labour warranty for the duration of this and subsequent agreements. Manufacturer to guarantee that the equipment specified is capable of maintaining the Low Sulphur, Ultra Low Sulphur and Biodiesel blends stored under this agreement..4 The Owner shall be informed of the programs progress and the results on an annual basis using detailed service reports, ISO and ASTM approved fuel testing methods..5 Any and all revisions or alterations to the Fuel Management System, piping, and storage facility must first be approved by the manufacturer or risk having warranty and guarantees voided..6 Manufacturers will make detailed inspection including photographs of completed installation prior to commissioning and store such documentation in a central data base for reference. A copy shall be provided to the owner upon completion of installation and commissioning.
