Loosen the battery bracket nut. Remove the radiator cover (seven clips and one bolt). S (7) NUT Illustration of the Fog Lights Installed on the Vehicle RELAY RADIATOR COVER 4. Remove the four clips, four bolts, and two selftapping screws that fasten the front bumper. Remove the front bumper. RIGHT FOG LIGHT LEFT 2821030K INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. SELF- TAPPING NOTE: These installation instructions show the left fog light being installed. The same procedure applies to installing the right fog light. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the radio station presets. 2. 5. Using masking tape, mask the bumper around the fog light opening. RIBS (4) 8. Position the left fog light adjuster on the left fog light, and install the one step screw and one 4 x 8 mm washer-screw. STEP LEFT MASKING TAPE FRONT BUMPER 6. Using a utility knife, slowly and carefully cut out the fog light opening. Be sure to cut your lines as straight as possible, and do not damage the bumper. Remove any burrs from the edges of the fog light grille opening. 7. Attach the rubber trim to the edge of the fog light opening. 4 x 8 mm WASHER ADJUSTER 9. Position the bottom hole of the fog light bracket on the left fog light, and install the one step screw. 10. Install one large spring nut on the front bumper rib. 12. Position the left fog light on the front bumper, and install the two 6 x 20 mm washer-bolts. FRONT BUMPER RIB 5 x 12 mm SMALL SELF- SPRING NUT TAPPING RIB FOG LIGHT TRIM LARGE SPRING NUT RIB 11. Install one large spring nut on the rib of the fog light trim. TRIM 6 x 20 mm WASHER- TRIM 6 x 20 mm WASHER- 13. Slide one small spring nut onto the left fog light trim on the bumper. Secure the trim to the front bumper with one 5 x 12 mm self-tapping screw. 14. Attach the left fog light to the fog light trim with the four 5 x 16 mm self-tapping screws. TRIM LARGE SPRING NUT RIB 5 x 16 mm SELF-TAPPING S (4) 15. Routing the Fog Light Harness 16. Behind the left headlight, locate the fog light 1-pin connector that is blue-taped to the vehicle harness. Untape the connector and plug it into the left fog light 1-pin connector. 19. Locate and loosen the ground bolt. Attach the fog light harness ground terminal to this ground bolt, and tighten the bolt securely. GROUND TERMINAL LEFT HEAD LIGHT 2-PIN (long harness) GROUND 2-PIN (short harness) WIRE TIE HOLE GROUND TERMINAL FOG LIGHT GROUND TERMINAL BLUE TAPE 20. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties in the areas shown. 21. Attach two wire ties with clip to the fog light harness at the green tape location, then push the clips into the holes in the harness bracket. GREEN TAPE WITH 1-PIN S 17. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (short harness), and the ground connector harness through the hole under the left headlight. 18. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (the one with a long harness) to the right along the vehicle harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with the wire tie in the area shown. 22. Remove the two bolts that secure the air duct. Insert the harness bracket between the air duct and the bulkhead, then secure it with the two bolts. Secure the fog light harness with wire tie(s), as shown. 23. Route the fog light harness along the vehicle harness through the right headlight, and secure it to the vehicle harness and vehicle frame with six wire ties in the areas shown. With Security System: FRONT FRAME WIRE TIE FRONT BRACKET SECURITY BRACKET SECURITY 2827030K 2819080K Without Security System: 24. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle ground harness with one wire tie. Do not secure the fog light harness to the SRS harness. 25. With an assistant holding the bumber, connect the two fog light harness 2-pin connectors to the left and right fog lights, then reinstall the front bumper. 2-PIN 2-PIN 27. Remove the driver s dashboard lower cover: Remove the fuse lid (four clips), and open the pocket. Remove the two self-tapping screws. Gently pull out on the driver s dashboard lower cover to release the eight clips. If equipped, unplug the two vehicle connectors and remove the lower cover. (if equipped) (if equipped) DRIVER S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER RIGHT POCKET RETAINING S (4) FRONT BUMPER LEFT Routing the Switch Harness 26. Remove the driver s dashboard under cover by turning the knob clockwise, and releasing one clip. SELF-TAPPING S (8) FUSE BOX LID HOLDER 28. Remove the passenger s dashboard under cover (three clips and two pins). S (3) DRIVER S DASHBOARD UNDER COVER KNOB Turn 90 clockwise. 29. Open the dashboard pocket lid. Remove the lid by releasing the two retaining clips and two retaining tabs, and remove the dashboard pocket (one selftapping screw, then pull out to release the two clips and three retaining tabs). If equipped unplug the vehicle connector. 31. On A/T vehicles only, remove the two clips and the six self-tapping screws, and pull the dashboard center lower cover out toward you to release the six clips. Unplug the vehicle 2-pin connector from the accessory socket, and remove the cover bolts that secure the seat. Remove the two self-tapping screws that fasten the heater control panel to the dashboard. Pull the heater control panel out toward you to release the four clips. Unplug the vehicle connector, and remove the heater control panel. SELF- TAPPING Pull S (6) DASHBOARD CENTER LOWER COVER S (2) 32. On M/T vehicles only, remove the four seat track end covers from the driver s seat, then remove the four bolts that secure the seat. 33. On M/T vehicle only, pull the shift boot down while holding the plastic clip. Remove the shift knob from the shift lever by turning it counterclockwise. 36. Route the two switch harness 5-pin (male) connectors into the body panel opening. Plug the vehicle 5-pin (female) connector into the switch harness 5-pin (male) connector. PLASTIC SHIFT BOOT (Pull down.) 5-PIN 5-PIN 5-PIN SHIFT KNOB (Turn counterclockwise to remove.) 34. On M/T vehicle only, remove the two side covers (four tabs) from the center console. 2-PIN ILLUMINATION BULB BODY PANEL OPENING 2820010K Pull 37. Plug the relay into the switch harness relay box. On M/T vehicle only, remove the two clips and seven self-tapping screws, and pull the front console out toward you to release four clips. 38. Slide the switch harness relay box onto the appropriate bracket, as shown. With Vehicle Bracket: BRACKET 39. Route the switch harness along the body panel through the fuse box area, and secure it to the vehicle harness and body panel with three wire ties. 42. If the 1-pin connector is already being used by another accessory, plug the switch harness connector into the 1-pin connector taped to the accessory harness. 44. Behind the vehicle frame, locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness, and connect the switch harness 1-pin connector into the vehicle harness 1-pin connector. OTHER ACCESSORY S TAPED 1-PIN 1-PIN 1-PIN 43. Unplug the vehicle 12-pin connector from the fuse box, and connect the switch harness 12-pin connector in between. FUSE BOX 12-PIN 12-PIN 2820080K 45. Route the switch harness two 10-pin connectors toward the left. 46. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness with four wire ties. 47. Route the switch harness 10-pin connector between the body panel and vehicle frame in the area shown. Installing the Switch 50. Remove the two retaining tabs, and remove the right switch lid from the left upper cover. WIRE TIE LID RETAINING TABS (2) 10-PIN BODY PANEL FRAME DRIVER S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER 51. Install the switch in the driver s dashboard lower cover. 52. Connect the switch harness 5-pin connector (blue) to the switch, and reinstall the driver s dashboard lower cover. 5-PIN 5-PIN (BLUE) 10-PIN 10-PIN DRIVER S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER (if equipped) CUSHION TAPE 2821011K 48. Unplug the vehicle 10-pin connector, and connect the switch harness 10-pin connector in between. Wrap the cushion tape around the switch harness 10-pin connector. 49. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties in the area shown. 2821020K 53. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 54. Reinstall all removed parts. Check that all clips and fasteners are installed securely. 55. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. USE AND CARE How to Operate Fog Lights Turn the light switch to the on position (headlights on low beam ). Press the fog light switch (indicator is on). Fog Light Aiming Adjustment 56. Adjust the fog light: Adjust the aiming according to local laws and regulations. To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment screw in or out until the aim is correct. 2. Remove the bulb. BULB To lower PHILLlPS DRIVER To raise AIMING ADJUSTMENT 57. Reset the clock, and reset the radio station presets. NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver s window AUTO function is disabled. 58. Start the engine. Push down on the driver s window switch until the window is fully open. 59. Pull up on the driver s window switch fully to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 2 seconds. 60. Test the driver's window AUTO function. BULB REPLACEMENT 1. Remove the two bolts and one self-tapping screw, and pull the inner fender out as shown. 3. Install the new bulb into the socket. Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N 33165-S5A-003 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. Align the tab on the fog light with the cutout in the bulb when installing the new bulb. If not aligned, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers. SOCKET NEW BULB 4. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. INNER FENDER (Pull.)
