C.P.R.M. Team SADC Project Presentation By Lisa LEBLANC Mathias MOUSSAOUI, Maude PAVOT Baptiste ROBERT **** Collège Elsa TRIOLET Thaon les Vosges France

Introduction Approaching 2 and a new decade, the C.R.P.M. Team has decided to create and elaborate a brand new motorized toy concept which will meet exactly children s expectations in terms of colors, shape and performance requirements. This toy will be strictly based on a customer study enabling to meet with fidelity the kids preferences and expectations. The future customers should therefore find in this toy the expression of what they really want and find more arguments to persuade their parents, or more globally adults, to buy it. Customer research A Customer research has been completed to define the most accurately as possible what the kids requirements are (Appendix : Sample Data Analysis Table). The children who answered the survey, were mostly s (63%), therefore it has been decided to create a design which would more attract s. 63% Boys or Girls Boy Girl 37%

The statistics below show that a design is largely preferred by the kids. The shape of the motorized toy will therefore be oriented to a design. Shape 44% 4% 7% 4% Motorcycle Car Animal Truck Other 2% More than half of the interviewed population has a preference for black and red colors with 32% for black and 26% for red. In fact around 8% of the wishes are hold into 3 colors: black, red and gold. These results drove us to the conclusion that the toy should be bicolored with a domination of black including red drawings and gold details. Color 32% 26% 6% 5% 2% Black Red Blue Pink Golden

The decoration should also include sport logos which is the wish of 33% of the kids. 7% Decoration 27% 33% Drawing Name Sports logo 7% Puppets Scratches Other 3% 3% Concerning the performance criteria, 8% of the interviewed kids prefer a motorized toy which goes fast. Progression 8% Quickly Climb 2%

From Customer Survey to Product Concept The main consumers targeted by this toy will be s. For this reason we have decided that the design should be simple but with evocation of rapidity and sports; with not much fantasy but stimulation of creativity. This will be black, red and gold with sport logos. The aerodynamic shape and the flames in red will evoke rapidity. We have also added an aerofoil on the back like on a sport. It will be able to travel over a course of three meters form a standing start under its own power in three seconds or less. After a few tests we decided to choice the gear ratio 3/ (including a gear with 45 teeth and a gear with 5 teeth) to meet these requirements. Motor Driver gear Driven gear

The body will be realized in 3mm thick foam board to have a very light product adapted to small children. To stimulate the creativity of the kids, the idea is to propose a version without decoration but to be sold with color pens and stickers allowing the kids to customize their (Annex 2 Exemple of stickers). Design sketch

Prototype Performance test results All the performance tests showed that the sport will be able to travel over a course of three meters from a standing start under its own power in between 2.6 to 2.9 seconds. Conclusion The logic of our approach and all the above arguments demonstrate, without any doubt, that Mobility Toys, Inc should choice our project to propose a toy which will meet the targeted kids expectations and increase for sure their sales.
