Figure 4-9 Connecting the Linkage Arms sensor arm linkage arm Hardware Installation Guide 19

Adjust the Sensor and Linkage Arms Adjust the Sensor and Linkage Arms To adjust the sensor and linkage arms: 1. Make sure the linkage arms never fully straighten or cross over when the wheels are turned to hard left and hard right. 2. Leave the wheel angle sensor bolts protruding down to act as limits for the sensor arm but ensure the sensor arm never touches them. 3. After installation is complete you should check the wheel angle sensor performance with either the "Examine Steering" screen or the "Calibration Wizard" in A5 systems or the "Steering Diagnostics" screen in FarmPro systems. 4. If you slowly turn the wheels from hard left to hard right the sensor counts observed on screen should increase or decrease smoothly and consistently all the way through the range swept out by the wheels. The sensor counts should never reach zero and should never stop counting at the high end of the scale before the wheels hit the stops either. If either of these symptoms occurs you may need to rotate the sensor within its aluminum body. Make sure the linkage arms do not fully straighten or cross over when the wheels are turned hard left and right. 5. Tighten all linkage nuts and wheel angle sensor screws after final adjustments to the linkage arms and wheel angle sensor. Note: This step is done after final assembly during the calibration and tuning steps. 20 AutoFarm GPS AutoSteer
