This turning force distorts the brake shoe holder due to the wedge effect of the cam, acting on the brake shoe and locking the piston rod by tightening on it with a large force. Unlocking occurs when air pressure is supplied to the unlocking port, causing the brake piston to counteract the force of the spring and push the brake lever back.
