VERIFICATION OF TEMPERATURE SENSORS 5.1 PT100 SENSOR Component of PT100 sensor PT100 The temperature sensor is constituted of a resistance sensor with a value of 100 ohms for a temperature of 0 centigrade, 138.5 ohms for the te mperature of 100 degrees. The resistance variation according to the temperature is linear. The resistance measurement gives directly the temperature measured. The sensor is not polarised. The sensor is lengthened with a copper wire. Hints for reading the chart: Find the resistance corresponding to the temperature of 164 C. Find the intersection of the line of 160 C and the column of 4 C. The reading indicated is 162.53 Ohms. Verification PT100 Ω MΩ With a 200 ohm sized ohmmeter verify the sensor resistance (less than 107 ohms for 20 centigrade). Verify sensor insulation between one of the wires and the metallic part with the 20 megohms ohmmeter (the value is over 10 megohms). Verify the continuity between the screen and the metallic part of the sensor. 10
6. SUBSTITUTION OF COMPONENTS 6.1 ACCESS TO THE COMPONENTS LOCATED BEHIND THE FASCIA - Unlock the fixation screws of the control knobs. - Remove the control knobs. - Unscrew and remove both M5 x 16 screws under the strip. - Remove the fascia: for this purpose lift it up (1), then pull it forward by its lower part and free it with a movement downwards (2). For reassembly, carry out the operations reversely. 6.2 ELECTRONIC AND ELECTRIC COMPONENTS Potentiometer Lugs Follow the dismantling procedure of the control fascia. Remove the potentiometer of the on/off switch, for this purpose, unfold the fixation lugs. Potentiometer 11
Clips Support Supply cable Brass ring Dismantle the potentiometer support and mount it on the new potentiometer without forgetting the brass ring. Take care to position the potentiometer properly on its support. The supply wires must be on the same side as the fixation lug. Mount the potentiometer assembly on the electric on-off switch. Screw Open the fryer door. Unscrew both fixation screws from the electric box cover and remove it. Potentiometer connection Disconnect the connector from the old potentiometer and remove the cable together with the grommet. Connect the new potentiometer on the regulating card, without forgetting to put in place the ring protector. (See the regulating card). Be careful with the direction of the terminal strip. The foolproof system ensures that the wires are turned to the sensor terminal strip (upwards). Remove the lid. Now you have access to the control cards. Screw Vis Disconnect the "burner drawer" by dismantling the gas inlet 3-piece connector. Connector Unscrew both fixation screws of the burner on the tank. Remove the burner by pulling it toward yourself. 14
