SOFTENING INDUSTRIAL WATER SOFTENERS: GUIDE TO TE COICE With steel vessels GEL industrial water softeners can be divided into two groups: A) INDUSTRIAL DECAL (table A) which do not supply softened water during regeneration. B) INDUSTRIAL DUPLEX (table B) supplying softened water 4 hours a day. The Duplex version is to be preferred whenever softened water is needed 4 hours a day and when consumptions are highly variable. The other version is suitable for those cases when daily consumptions are constant and recurring or when a storage tank for softened water, with autonomy over the two hours of maximum consumption, is available. Use the tables A and B according to the kind of softener chosen. The choice of the softener model is to be made according to the nr. people with or the daily consumption m 3, depending on the hardness of the water to be treated. In the column of the hardness of the water to be treated identify the number of people or the daily water consumption in m 3 and read in horizontal line on the left the suitable model of water softener. If the softener is for domestic and not for technical-industrial use, the unit is to be equipped with a resins disinfection system, consisting in a metering pump or two metering pumps in Duplex models, besides building a by-pass for the cutting out of the system to be also used for mixing raw and treated water (unless different indications according to your local laws). DECAL ET DECAL VT Industrial water softeners Decal ET Decal VT SOFTENING Water softeners of the industrial line are used to remove, completely or partially, the water hardness. They have been designed to meet requirements of high flow rate and exchange capacity, giving performances able to satisfy big water consumptions. Water softeners of the DECAL industrial line are made of steel with anti-corrosion internal treatment for food use. The whole water softener is totally managed by the technologically advanced timer VT 000 I especially designed to make programming easy. The timer VT 000 I can be programmed in five languages (GB, F, D, E, I) by showing the instructions through a four-line LCD display. The system is already programmed by GEL, except for two data, like water hardness in and out and working mode of regeneration (Time, Volume, Volume/Time), to be easily introduced from the professional high quality membrane switch. Water and salt consumptions can be optimised by introducing the pressure parameter and having the possibility to carry out a choked regeneration. On the display of the timer some working parameters are shown, such as flow rate per hour, liter counter and number of regenerations carried out. The timer is also equipped with salt alarm device and alarm for exhausted resins. A wide range of different models is available, as they can be fitted with hydropneumatic or butterfly valves, plate or spoke distribution system. Up to the standard models the softeners include brine containers with grid, for not standard models it is necessary to install a suitable brine cistern through the special brine cistern kit. DECAL 500 with butterfly valves If the water to be treated is for potable use, the unit is to be equipped in the VT version with a resins disinfection system, consisting in a metering pump DOSAMATIC PCS, directly controlled by the timer, for dosing chlorine during regeneration. It is also necessary to install a system to mix inlet and outlet water in order to obtain the desired residual hardness. Water softeners of the DECAL industrial line are available in two different versions: In the ET version, working by time, regeneration is automatically controlled by our timer each n days set, at the time desired. In the VT version, regeneration is automatically carried out by our timer in its three different working modes by: - Time - Volume (pure or with regeneration time) - Volume/Time. The control panel is already fitted with the automatic working, to control the self-disinfection system (not included in the supply). DUPLEX VT SOFTENING Industrial water softeners Duplex VT The DUPLEX version is made up of two columns working in alternate parallel. The control panel through the counter with impulse sender makes the exhausted column carry out the regeneration and, at the same time, starts the second column, allowing a continuous operation without stopping the softened water flow. The control panel is already fitted with the automatic working, to control the self-disinfection system (not included in the supply). In the DUPLEX VT version the automatic control device for the regeneration also inverts the columns by replacing the operating column with the other already regenerated and ready to be used.
