Cre for your roof rcks IMPORTANT: Plese Red Thoroughly Before Use. Plese ensure tht Roof Rcks re fitted in ccordnce with the Fitting Instructions. It is importnt tht you oserve ll recommendtions outlined elow. Sfe usge It is essentil for the proper ssemly; opertion nd use of the Roof Rck tht the instructions nd sfety precutions supplied re strictly oserved. Red ny fitting, use nd cre instructions crefully. When loding, py prticulr ttention to weight distriution. Alwys ensure tht the lod hs low centre of grvity. Fsten the lod securely ginst sliding nd check regulrly for correct positioning. The Roof Rck nd roof lod must not project eyond the ody of the crrying vehicle. The lod must not extend eyond the sides of the Roof Brs. Long lods should e positioned centrlly on the Roof Rck nd securely fstened t the front nd t the rer. Nrrow nd hevy lods should e crried s close to the end supports s possile. It is your responsiility to comply with sttutory requirements regrding the projection of your lod. Alwys secure the lod with sufficiently strong synthetic or textile strps. Do not use elsticised or "Occy" strps. Do not use dmged or fryed strps nd replce immeditely efore susequent use. 21

Sfe usge (continued): Where permissile, when crrying hevy lods, the ddition of extr crossrs hs proven to e the most successful wy to minimise vehicle roof deformtion. However, incresing the numer of crossrs does not increse the vehicle's mximum permissile roof loding. Check the security of your lod nd the tension of the olts nd fstenings of the Roof Rck efore deprting nd t regulr intervls during your journey. Specilised systems: where pplicle, specilised Roof Rck nd ccessories should e used to crry or secure your lod (eg, Bike Crrier, Wter Crft Crrier). The mximum permissile lod for your Roof Br is the lower of the mximum lod cpcity specified in your vehicle opertion mnul, or specified s pplying to the Roof Rck. Do not exceed the mximum specified lod cpcity. Mximum permissile lod = weight of the Roof Rck + weight of ccessories + weight of lod (crgo). Surfords: surfords should e loded on top of ech other rther thn side y side. Skis: skis should e loded with the front tips fcing towrds the rer of the crrying vehicle. The mounted & loded Roof Rck will ffect your vehicle's hndling chrcteristics, prticulrly relting to crosswind sensitivity, corners, nd ends nd rking ehviour. Exercise extreme cre when driving nd djust for the chnge in vehicle hndling nd rking ehviour y lwys driving sfely nd t speed pproprite to trvel conditions nd the lod eing crried. Wind resistnce is the numer one cuse of Roof Rck filures. Prior to securing lod, consider the surfce re of the lod to determine the suitility of crrying the lod on the Roof Rcks. Extr cution should e tken when trvelling in high winds, t high speed, or when crrying lods with lrge surfce res (eg tles, ed ses nd mttresses, sheets of wood).t 22

Mintennce: When not used to crry lod, the roof-rck shll e removed. The Roof Rck should e removed regulrly to clen djoining vehicle surfces, ttching loctions nd the Roof Rck itself. It is your responsiility to ensure tht the Roof Rck is dequtely mintined. You should routinely nd regulrly check the proper functioning of your Roof Rcks, nd tighten ll screws, olts, connections nd strps. Immeditely replce ny worn or dmged components. Remove Roof Rck efore entering n utomtic crwsh. To increse fuel efficiency, remove Roof Rck from crrying vehicle when not in use. We recommend tht you store the Roof Rck Security Key nd Fitting Instructions in the glove comprtment of your vehicle. Usge Instructions It is essentil for the proper ssemly, opertion nd use of the Roof Rck tht the instructions nd sfety precutions supplied re strictly oserved. The mximum permissile lod for your Roof Br is the lower of the mximum lod cpcity specified in your vehicle opertion mnul, or 75 kg. Do not exceed the mximum specified lod cpcity. Mximum Permissile Lod = Weight of the Roof Rck + Weight of Accessories + Weight of Lod (Crgo). When fitting the Roof Rck nd trnsporting lod, ensure the vehicle s functions re not impired (eg. sunroof, erils, windscreen wipers, mirrors). Rer doors on Htch, nd wgon-type vehicles should e inspected for dequte clernce for full opening opertion of the oot/tilgte. Stop nd check ll screw connections, olts nd retining strps fter short distnce of trvel. Repet these checks t regulr intervls. We recommend tht you remove your Roof Rck if using n utomted Cr Wsh or similr. Cequent ccepts no responsiility for dmge in such circumstnces. Wrnings Rememer tht the fitting of Roof Rck nd the trnsport of lod increses the overll height of the crrying vehicle. Where the Roof Rck is to e used in off-rod conditions, sfety weight reduction of 1.5 should e oserved from the totl crrying cpcity (eg. 60kg/1.5 ecomes 40kg). Cequent will not e lile to the purchser or ny other person for ny concequentil, direct or indirect loss, dmge or costs incurred or suffered y the purchser or ny other person including ut not limited to dmge to persons or property, loss of turnover, loss of profits, loss of usiness or goodwill rising from or in reltion to the ssemly nd use of the Roof Rck, or the non-oservnce of the fitting nd cre instructions. 23
