COOLING ONLY Airflow is at minimum when thermostat branch pressure is below 8 PSIG. On a rise in room temperature, the thermostat branch pressure increases to 13 PSIG and air flow increases to maximum. The reverse will occur, with a drop in room temperature. 2.) COOLING WITH REHEAT Primary air flow is at minimum and the reheat is energized when thermostat branch pressure is between 3-8 PSIG. As room temperature increase reheat is sequenced off. With a further rise in room temperature the thermostat branch pressure increases to 13 PSIG and primary airflow increases to maximum. The Reverse will occur with a drop in room temperature. NOTE: Optional reheat control requires a normally open hot water valve or normally closed P/E switch. 3.) Damper fails open with loss of pneumatic air. WWW.TUTTLEANDBAILEY.COM 1202P2-9/01 Page 3 of 8

CSC 3000 Series Volume Reset Controller Description The KMC CSC-3000 Series Volume Reset Controllers are designed for use on heating or cooling systems with normally open or normally closed VAV terminal units. The CSC-3000s are sub-master air velocity controllers with adjustable minimum and maximum velocity limits. A master controller, typically a room thermostat, resets the CSC s velocity set point between minimum and maximum velocity setpoints. CSC-3000s universal design is intended for new or replacement applications that call for direct or reverse acting reset on normally open, or normally closed, VAV terminal units. The CSC features field adjustable reset start point and span settings for any application. Features Available in 0 to 1" and 0 to 2" wc ranges Direct or reverse acting reset (normally open or normally closed damper settings) Field adjustable reset start point and span Application CSC-3000s are used in applications that require normally open, or normally closed, VAV terminal units using direct or reverse acting thermostats.!caution Pneumatic devices MUST operate with CLEAN, DRY, control air. Any other medium will result in the device s eventual failure. Mounting Installation Guide Variable Volume Controllers CSC-3000 Series The CSC-3000 Series are position sensitive. They must be mounted AND calibrated in either the horizontal (preferred) or vertical plane. 1. Connect the right angle bracket to the mounting surface with 2 self threading screws in the two 3/16" (5 mm) mounting holes. 2. Inset the controller, face down, up, right or left. Controller must be adjusted and installed in the same plane or readjustment will be necessary. 3. Make sure to leave enough room to make connections. Connections For all models of the CSC-3000 Series use 1/4" (5 mm) O.D. FR tubing, on the following push-on fittings: 1. Connect the clean, dry, main air supply to Port M. 2. Connect the damper actuator to Port B. 3. Connect the Thermostat output to Port T. 4. Connect the total pressure tap on the air flow sensor to Port H. 5. Connect the static pressure tap on the air flow sensor to Port L. Adjustments and Calibration Damper Action The damper action is factory set at Normally Open (N.O.). To field select Normally Closed (N.C.): 1. Loosen damper selection screw. 2. Turn selection dial clockwise until the NC arrow aligns with the Damper arrow. 3. Tighten selection screw. Page 7 of 8
Adjustments and Calibration Continued Thermostat Reset Span and Start: The thermostat reset span is factory set at 5 psi. To field adjust: 1. Remove gauge tap cap at Port G 2. Attach a 0 30 psi pressure gauge 3. Adjust thermostat pressure at Port T to 20 psi 4. Adjust Reset Span (CCW to increase, CW to decrease) until gauge pressure is equal to the desired rest span. This is total span pressure, not the ending span pressure. 5. Adjust thermostat pressure at Port T to desired start pressure. 5. Adjust the Reset Start until the gauge pressure begins to increase slightly. 6. Replace the gauge tap cap. Differential Pressure Range Deviation from the original 5 psi reset span will either directly, and proportionally, effect the CSC-3000 s differential pressure range. To adjust the differential pressure range on a Normally Open or Normally Closed damper with direct or reverse acting thermostat: 1. Adjust the center knob, LO STAT (ccw to increase) to desired air flow with 0 psi at Port T. 2. Adjust the center right knob HI STAT (ccw to increase) to desired air flow with 20 psi at Port T. NOTE: LO STAT is always calibrated first. This air flow setting is the minimum for DA/Cooling or RA/ Heating applications, or maximum for RA/Cooling or DA/Heating applications. HI STAT is always calibrated second. This air flow setting is the maximum for DA/Cooling or RA/ Heating applications, or minimum for RA/Cooling or DA/Heating applications. NOTE: Always make adjustments in the same plane/orientation as the one in which the unit will operate. Maintenance No routine maintenance is required. Each component is designed and manufactured for reliability and performance. Careful installation and use will ensure long term dependability. KMC Controls P.O.
