A broad performance spectrum ensures individual tre fitment options for ever application: light trucks for the short-haul and regional traffic, trucks in on- and off-road usage, as well as long-distance coach lines. The universal selection for varing conditions of usage is reflected in the new tre designations, which includes the axle position on the one hand, and the tpe of usage on the other. The Highwa series shines with high mileage in both regional and long-distance transport. Optimum tread patterns on all axles combine to make up an economical overall concept. In construction-site transport, the On-/Off-Road series, with its tres for front, drive and trailer axle, has a firm grip also on loose surfaces, and is also particularl durable under the most uncompromising conditions. Winter series treads don t lose their grip on ice and snow, either. High-traction drive and firm grip when steering take driver and load safel to their destination during the cold season. Uniroal commercial vehicle tres, with their durable casings and high mileage performance, are a technicall and economicall convincing proposition on an axle. The excellent regroovabilit and retreadabilit assure these tres a particularl long service life.

Tre designation idewall markings peed designation 1 ie designation in inches or mm; here: 315 = nominal width in mm; 80 = aspect ratio in % (Aspect height/aspect width), R = radial tre, 22.5 = rim diameter in inches. 2 Nominal operating code. This is made up of the load smbol for single and twin trefitments and the speed smbol for the reference speed. 154 means 3,750 kg per tre as a single tre fitment and 150 means 3,350 kg per tre in dual fitment. M standsfor a max. speed of 130 km/h. The speed smbol indicates the speed at which the load capacities corresponding to the load indices appl under specific operating conditions. In the case of light truck tres (LI 121 and below), the tre s specified speed can be exceeded with reduced loads. This applies for light truck tres (LI = 122 and above), as well as for reference speeds of 110 km/ h (= 68 mph) (peed mbol = K) and below. Load capacit designation The load indices refer to the maximum tre load capacities applicable at the speed indicated b the speed smbol under specific operating conditions. peed smbol peed categor A 1 5 A 2 10 A 3 15 A 4 20 A 5 25 A 6 30 A 7 35 A 8 40 B 50 C 60 65 E 70 F 80 G 90 J 100 K 110 L 120 M 130 N 140 P 150 Q 160 R 170 180 3 Additional service description. On tres which are suitable for a variet of applications (e.g. on trucks and buses), the permitted load can be increased and the maximum speed reduced, or vice versa. An additional load index is then given for single/twin tre fitments and a letter for the appropriate reference speed. The additional service description is encircled. 4 Pl rating: Refers to the load capacit tpe. On crosspl tres this used to indicate the number of plies in the casing. Regrooving recommendations Regrooving recommendations Regrooving Highwa On public roads a tread depth of at least 1.6 mm over the entire circumference of the tre is required. The following should alwas be adhered to when doing regrooving work: FH 110 ie epth (mm) (mm) To further increase the service life and econom of Uniroal tres, the so-called undertread can be regrooved. The undertread refers to the laer between the top side of the belt and the tread grooves (see figure). Regulation: - tones or other foreign material lodged in the tread are to be removed. - The tread pattern must be maintained at ever point on the tre. There must not be an bald spots. - The most worn spot on the tre determines the depth setting for the regrooving tool. 8.5 R 17.5 2 : 9-10 / : 5-6 Provided it is marked REGROOVABLE, a commercial vehicle tre ma be regrooved down to a residual undertread thickness of 2 mm above the breaker or belt. In order to exploit the full kilometre reserve regrooving affords, it is absolutel essential that the work be carried out in a thoroughl professional manner. This is all the more important if the tres are to be subsequentl retreaded. Cutting the tread too deepl in the course of regrooving could damage the steel belt, resulting in the formation of rust. Not onl is there then a greater danger of tre failure, but the tre s retreading suitabilit is also severel reduced. - The regrooving depth indicated in the table for the respective tre sie and tread pattern tpe is to be added to the minimum tread depth. The regrooving knife is set to this combined depth. - Onl professional regrooving tools should be used. - Regrooving operations should alwas be carried out as shown in the following figures. - After regrooving, check the grooves for an sign of exposed belt wire. If the wire is exposed at an point, the tre ma not be used.
