RED M DESIGNED TO REDUCE OPERATING COSTS The RED M Reciprocating Rod Pump Surface Blow Out Preventer/Controller is designed to provide oil producers with a combination BOP/shutdown system to prevent oil spillage and environmental damage on pumping oil wells. The system pays for itself by providing mechanical insurance that ensures costs associated with an accidental oil spill are minimized. In addition, the tool provides an extra level of protection so that routine oil well supervision expenses can be lowered by reducing the number of visual inspections requited to determine if the well or pumping system is leaking. HOW IT WORKS Simple to Install The unit is installed on top of the existing stuffing box, and easily crosses over to the most popular designs. The self aligning swivel joint ensures the BOP and secondary seals align themselves with the polished rod with minimal adjustment and installation time. Shuts Down Well If Stuffing Box Fails The chamber above the swivel joint contains a shutdown system which detects a leak in the stuffing box and, in conjunction with an electronic controller, shuts down the pumping system before oil spillage occurs. The secondary seal on top of the pressure control chamber ensures that no spillage occurs in case of stuffing box seal failure. BOP Prevents Oil Spills The BOP is designed to close in the well and prevent oil spills in the case of a broken polished rod. The BOP valve closes automatically when the polished rod that holds it open is removed, whether or not there is pressure in the tubing. After installation, the unit is easy to service and requires little maintenance.

The BOP/Controller, when properly assembled and maintained, will provide a service which will: * Protect against leaks due to stuffing box failure or polish rod breaks * Lengthen polish rod and packing life. The following guidelines on installation and service are provided to assist you in achieving the above. INSTALLATION 1. Shut in pump motor, pump and well in a manner that will allow removal of the top portion of existing box, packing and carrier bar; slip the top portion of existing box, plus rod rotators, ect. Over the top of polish rod. 2. Slip BOP/ Controller starting with adapter over the polish rod (as well as rod rotator ect.) 3. Take weight off string back onto carrier bar, remove rod clamp, replace stuffing box packing, if necessary, and install BOP/Controller adapter. 4. Tighten adapter onto the stuffing box in the same manner as the old top of box. Start pump and check for leaks. 5. Attach BOP/Controller to the adapter. Make this piece up hand tight. BNO 36 PIPE WRENCHES. The ball has to swivel and the o-ring is the seal, so do not over tighten to the point that the swivel action is destroyed. 6. Fill the body with oil or an inhibited fluid, if desired. 7. Install and hook up pressure switches, gauges etc. in the remaining openings. REMINDERS 1. Swivel action must be allowed at point where ball nut joins adapter. Ball nut must be only tight enough on adapter to prevent leaks, but not tightened to a point where o-ring is damaged. 2. Top packing should only be hand tight. 3. Pressure switch should be set at 50 pounds to 60 pounds. 4. If unit is shutting down or pressure over 20 pounds is observed on the unit, bottom packing needs service. SERVICE Unit should be checked at least on a three-month basis to observe flapper check, top and bottom of packing.

Stuffing Boxes Along with offering new stuffing boxes we also provide the service of repairing stuffing boxes. We offer packing that is best suited for the well conditions providing the greatest longevity at economical prices. The Dual Pack Stuffing Box is the most common stuffing box and can be used in working pressures up to 3,000 PSI. Their unique misaligning characteristic reduces the need for exact alignment with the pumping unit. Rod Rotators Rod Rotators are attached to the polish rod and are designed to rotate the polish rod, sucker rods, as well as the pump valve rod and plunger. This allows equipment to wear evenly which becomes especially important in deviated wells. Rod Rotators are relatively maintenance free and provide a positive return on investment. Along with stocking complete units, Prime Pump stocks Rod Rotator parts for lost-cost reconditioning. Blow-Out Preventers The Huber-style blow-out preventer consists of 2 hammer-type caps that are designed to eliminate cross-threading. The screws are designed to be blow-out proof. The body is composed of ductile iron and is corrosion resistant. The BOP can be sold with sour service rams suited for sour conditions.

Flow Tees We offer flow tees in the sizes of 2, 2-1/2, and 3 in working pressures of 2,500 and 3000 PSI. They are coated with Zincphosphate to improve the thread lubrication and are precision machined. We also offer a cast stainless steel model for high concentrations of CO2. Polish Rod Clamps Prime Pump sells 3-bolt Polish Rod Clamps and can order in 2- bolt Polish Rod Clamps. They are made of high strength forged steel and are designed to fit 1-1/8, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 polish rods. They have precision machined parallel faces and perpendicular rod bore. Interchangeable springs enable each basic unit to be used for a variety of pressure ranges. Accurate operation and repeatability are provided by the smooth plunger movement and precision manufacturing. Long life is ensured by a guided plunger, resulting in a useful life that exceeds other types of pressure switch mechanisms. High proof pressure is provided by a positive plunger stop so that the Presco-Switch will withstand overpressure and surges. Rugged design enables the Presco-Switch to withstand severe operating conditions including shock, vibration and corrosion. Standard male 2 NPT pressure sensing connection provides a solid mount that will not plug off or freeze readily. Presco Isolator Prime Pump provides this type of locking valve with most new completions. It is a simplified means of field calibration or removal of a Presco- pressure control switch of pilot under field operating conditions. The Presco-isolator is supplied with a lockable operating handle and is available in a wide variety of end connections and trims.

Back Pressure Regulator The use of a Back Pressure Regulator (BPR) can be very beneficial on the pumping wells that tend to head up and flow. An adjustable type is preferred so the pressure setting can be fine tuned to the well s characteristics. The BPR is connected to the tubing outlet and adjusted at a high back pressure to prevent the well from flowing. The pump can easily overcome the extra pressure and is benefited by a more constant supply of fluid for coolant and/or lubrication. In effect, the BPR puts the operator in control and forces the well to pump instead of flowing off. Best results are achieved by loading the tubing first with fluid, setting a high pressure, and then commence pumping. API Polish Rods Prime Pump offers five different grades of Polished Rods for all applications and well conditions. Wells with moderate amounts of load and corrosion a 431 Stainless Steel Rod is recommended. For wells is sand at medium depths where abrasion and/or corrosion are evident, spray metal should be used. The XM-19 (N50) is suited for the most severe applications where high corrosive and high load conditions are present. 1045 Piston Steel: Utility grade carbon steel material. This is a medium strength rod and is relatively soft; it works well in common applications with little corrosion or abrasives present. 4140 Alloy Steel: An improved carbon steel material with chromium and nickel added. This rod is stronger than piston steel and gives better corrosion protection and improved hardness. This is a good rod for mild corrosive and/or mild abrasive conditions.

Spray Metal Coated: These Polish Rods use a 1045 Piston Steel rod as the base material. A very hard Nickel Alloy is applied to the surface and then ground and polished to size. The Nickel coating provides excellent abrasion resistance and moderate corrosion resistance. The coating can be applied to the end, center or full length of the rod. The Spray Metal coating thickness is 0.010 to 0.015 431 Stainless Steel: A mid-grade stainless material with substantially more nickel than a 4140 Alloy rod. It has higher strength and hardness characteristics than alloy steel and offers good corrosion resistance to help reduce pitting in H2S environments to 5% max. XM-19 (N50) High Strength Stainless Steel: This is the highest quality polished rod available. XM-19 is a high quality, high strength austenitic stainless steel, which has been fortified with Molybdenum and Nitrogen. XM-19 out-performs 431SS and hard faced rods in severe service applications as its chemical composition gives excellent tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Minimum tensile strength for all couplings is 95,000 PSI but the high-grade carbon used will significantly exceed the minimum. A phosphate coating is applied to all couplings for anti-galling protection. Grade SM (Spray Metal) couplings start with the same high quality T coupling and have a very hard Nickel alloy coating applied to the outside diameter and face of the coupling. The spray metal thickness is a minimum of 0.010 and the hardness is a minimum of 55Rc. SM couplings are intended for use where abrasion and/or corrosion wear is a problem.

RED M Reciprocating Rod Pump BOP/Controller Electro-Luber The classic ELECTRO-LUBER was developed in 1982. The ELECTRO-LUBER uses an electro-chemical reactor cell which converts electrical energy into safe, inert nitrogen gas. The gas is trapped in a hermetically sealed bellows type gas chamber. ATS Electro-Lube was the first company to use this self-contained automatic lubrication technology; as the gas is produced an internal pressure builds up in the bellows and is applied against the orange piston. The piston then forces the lubricant out of the cylinder and into the point of lubrication. The unit can empty between 15 days to 1 year depending on the setting of the simple user-programmable DIP switch. The selection can be changed or turned off at any time.
