TRANSFORMER STATIONS OF THE SBS 63 160 SERIES GENERAL DESCRIPTION SRS 63 160 is a stand-alone MV/LV transformer station adapted for maintenance form the outside. The station is adapted to the operation with the cable MV power grid. The electrical equipment is a 160 kva maximum power rating, oil-immersed transformer made by Fabryka Transformatorów with an integrated LV switchgear. The transformer protection on the MV side is effected by the fuses installed in the transformer structure. The power supply and the output of the utilization circuits are made via the Hauff- Technik tight bushings located in the bottom part of the building. The MV cables are connected to the transformer via the angular connector heads. For the purposes of maintenance of the transformer and the LV switchgear, a separate doors have been provided in the front (for the transformer) and in the left side wall (for the LV switchgear). Because the fuses have been used, there is no need for additional protection on the MV side. The power supply to the station has to be effected from the cut-outs or switch disconnectors to ensure safe maintenance and repairs of the station. The SRS 63 160 transformer station is a perfect, aesthetic alternative to the postmounted station (especially in the urban areas). SPECIFICATION OF THE BUILDING The building is made as a one-piece casting from the B45 reinforced concrete, which in conjunction with the Hauff-Technik tight bushings technology ensures full water- and oil-tightness. The used concrete has a better heat transfer coefficient than light concrete (I= 21 [W/m 2 *K]). The transformer is installed and removed via the roof, which during operation is bolted to the building structure. FINISHING OF THE WALLS AND ROOF The inside is painted with a white or grey waterproof dispersion paint. The bottom part, painted with an oil-resistant paint, creates a tight oil pan. In standard execution, the external façade is covered with a mineral plaster painted two times with a UV-resistant façade paint. The façade may also be covered with tiles or imitate Prussian wall. The roof is also painted two times with a UV-resistant paint. The outside walls in the areas where they contact the ground are protected with a double sealing coat. The doors are made of the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet and painted with a lacquer in any RAL colour. The doors have a three-point lock. The reinforcement of the building, as well as all metal components (erection rails, bushings, doors) are galvanically connected and earthed. Against a previous arrangement with the manufacturer, customized fixings may be concreted in the roof and walls. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT The sections of the building and the equipment are shown in the drawings below. The transformers installed in the station are oil-immersed type with a fully tight ladle. The cores are made of the cold-rolled sheets covered with ceramic insulation. The used splicing method ensures low noise level and little no-load. The transformer winding is made of the electrolytic copper. The construction of the windings ensures high dielectric and dynamic resistance. The transformer is equipped with the regulating switch in no- condition. Specially selected for operation with the transformer, Medium Voltage fuses are 2 / 6
installed inside the ladle in tight insulation housings to protect the station. The fuses are easily replaceable in the operation stand, without the need to open the ladle.
