2012 (71 Passenger) School Bus The Van Buren Intermediate School District is requesting sealed bids for two (2) 2012 model of 71 passenger completed school buses with wheelchair lift and A/C in accordance with the bid specifications listed in this proposal. All questions or inquires regarding this bid should be directed to Randy Hood, Transportation Department at (269) 539-5240. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner(s) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the Van Buren Intermediate School District or the Superintendent of the Van Buren Intermediate School District. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include a sworn and notarized familial relationship disclosure statement. Van Buren ISD has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Sealed bid proposal envelope must be marked 2012 School Year Bus Bid Proposal and are due no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the VBISD Administration Office, Attn: Randy Hood, 490 S. Paw Paw Street, Lawrence, Michigan at which time bid proposals will be publicly opened. Sealed bids can be mailed or delivered in person. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Bids are to be submitted to comply to the attached body and chassis specifications and other specified instructions, and must include all other equipment to meet the safety requirements of: Michigan Department of Education Safety Specifications, the National Minimum Standards, and the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as applicable to school bus. 2. The completed unit is to be inspected and adjusted by the dealer and approved by the Michigan State Police before delivery. 3. The completed unit shall be lettered and numbered according to Van Buren Intermediate School District requirements. 4. Any deviation from the specifications as written must be explained in writing. 5. Quotes for vehicles with diesel engines are required. 6. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and is not bound to accept low bid. 7. Bids are due at the Van Buren Intermediate School District 490 South Paw Paw Street Lawrence, MI 49064 March 23, 2012 on or before 12:00 noon, to the attention of Randy Hood, Transportation Dept.
