Thank you for choosing a product of Kufatec GmbH. While developing this product, your personal safety combined with the best operating service, modern design and an up-to-date production technique was especially taken into account. Unfortunately, despite the utmost care injuries and/or damages might occur due to improper installation and/or use. Please read the attached instruction manual completely with great care and keep it! All articles of our production line pass through a 100 % check - for your safety and security. We reserve the right to carry out technical changes which serve the improvement at any time. According to each article and purpose, it is sometimes necessary to check each country s legal regulations before installing and starting the unit. In case of guarantee claims, the device has to be sent back to the seller in the original packaging with the attached bill of purchase and detailed defect s description. Please pay attention to the manufacturer s return requirements (RMA). The legal warranty directions are valid. The guarantee claim as well as the operating permission becomes invalid due to: a) unauthorized changes to the device or accessories which have not been approved or carried out by the manufacturer or its partners b) opening the device s frame c) device s repairs carried out by one s own d) improper use / operation e) brute force to the device (drop, wilful damage, accident etc.) During installation, please pay attention to all safety relevant and legal directions. The device has only to be installed by trained personnel or similarly qualified people. 1

Safety Instructions Installation requires special knowledge. Do not install the unit yourself. For safe and reliable installation, consult a dealer having special knowledge. Never use bolts or nuts from the car s safety devices for installation. If bolts or nuts from the steering wheel, brakes or other safety devices are used for installation of the unit, it may cause an accident. Use the unit with a DC 12V negative ground car. This unit cannot be used in large trucks which use a DC 24V battery. If it is used with a DC 24V battery, it may cause a fire or accident. Avoid installing the unit in following places: - Where it would hinder your safe driving. - Where it could damage the car s fittings. This unit is only for use in the following vehicles. Only connections described within this instruction guide are allowed or required to use for installation. For damage impact caused by faulty installation, unsuitable connections inappropriate vehicles Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability. We advise you that these units process datas out of the CAN - protocol from the vehicle. As the supplier of this device we don t know the overall system you are working with. If our device causes damage due to other changes made by to the vehicle Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability. Kufatec GmbH supplier do not guarranty the use of the product for changings within a new vehicle series. If the car manufaturer s don t agree with the installation of our device by reason of warranty the Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability. Please check conditions and warranty before you begin the installation. Kufatec GmbH supplier reserves the right to change the device specifications without notice. Note: This interface does not include pinching protection. The user must watch the opening/ closing process at all times to make sure there are no objects or people (in particular children) in the path of the convertible top. If a person is too close, you can stop the process by pushing the button on the remote or by pushing the interior button again. Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability for any damage incurred if these safety instructions are ignored. Note: In case of low battery the Interface switches by reason of secure into standby. In order to wake up the interface again it has to be unplugged and connected again. References of legal regulations for operation Only use this unit in the intended domain. If you use it in a foreign domain, if the unit is not installed properly, or if the unit will be reconstructed, the guarantee will expire. 2

Convertible Top Interface Features To activate the interface as well as the optional auxiliary functions, use the DIS-steer stick levers (see page 6 operating instruction). Convenient One-Touch operation using the interior button or the remote - fully automated opening and closing. Operating while driving up to the factory speed limit for roof operations. When the speed is exceeded, the opening/closing procedure is interrupted. By returning to the speed range, the opening/closing procedure will automatically resume. All standard safety features remain unaffected. When the speed is exceeded, no operation possible. NOTE: For operating the vehicle has to be unlocked. Commands has to be completed within 3 seconds. Otherwise you need to start the process again. After proceeding a roof operation the window buttons are disabled for about 10 seconds. Remote 2X roof button Push the roof button two times (1-second pulse rate) to automatically open and close the roof (for activated remote). Interior roof switch 2 Seconds/ 2X push/ pull Press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds to automatically open or close the roof (for activated switch). Pull or push the button twice (1-second pulse rate) to automatically open or close the roof (for activated switch). Scope of delivery Interface Wiring harness FAQ Q: The vehicle has not been driven for a long time (saisonal reason). The interface is not working any longer. A: In case of low battery the Interface switches by reason of secure into standby. In order to wake up the interface again it has to be unplugged and connected again. Q: The remote operation is suddenly not working any longer. A: The function has been deactivated by mistake. Please activate it again (see page 6). 3

Installation instruction For accessibility requirements, the roof should be moved into service position for installation (image 1). remove the key from the ignition. Furthermore the stay ropes has to be loosen. Please find the ropes according image 2. image 1 image 2 Angle the ball joint (vertical position) and loose it from the socket by pushing the ball joint (image 3, 4). Move the back part of the convertible top forwards (image 5). image 3 image 4 image 5 Dismantle the two plastic - locking pins from the cowl as demonstrated in image 6. Carefully fold these cowl by pulling towards the rear of the vehicle. On the left hand side you will find the control unit for convertible top operations (image 7). Remove the 26-pole connector. Therefore you need to move the white lock shown on image 8. Remove the housing of the 26-pole connector. image 6 image 7 image 8 4

Installation instruction Remove the housing of the 26-pole connector. Please push the lock on the back of the connector and remove the housing. Remove the Red/ White loom (image 9) from PIN 24 and put it into chamber 1 of the delivered 2-pole connector (image 10). Remove the Brown loom from PIN 23 and put it into chamber 2 of the same 2-pole connector. Now you need to put in the wires (Red, Brown) coming from the delivered wiring into the original connector where you just removed the wires before - Red - PIN 24, Brown - PIN 23. image 9 image 10 image 11 Remove the Yellow loom from PIN 19 and put it into chamber 1 of the delivered 2-pole connector. Remove the Black loom from PIN 6 and put it into chamber 2 of the same 2-pole connector. Now you need to put in the wires (Black/ White, Black/ Yellow) coming from the delivered wiring into the original connector where you just removed the wires before - Black/ White - PIN 19, Black/ Yellow - PIN 6. Please make sure you removed the right 4 cables and check once again with the following sheme. OEM connector 26-pole Red/ White PIN 24 Brown PIN 23 Connector 2-pole Red/ White PIN 1 Brown PIN 2 Yellow PIN 19 Black PIN 6 Yellow PIN 1 Black PIN 2 image 12 The just created 2-pole connections (image 12) needs to be connected with the 2-pole connectors (male) coming from the delivered wiring. Please follow the colour information and put the following colours together (image 12). Red/ White Red Brown Brown Yellow Black/ White Black Black/ Yellow 5

Installation instruction The installation has been finished. image 13 Find a suitable position for the interface. We recommend using the space underneath the 26-pole connector of the control unit. The interface may need to be fixed with tape. When moving the cables be very careful not to squeeze or damage any of the lines. Verify that all lines are connected and secured properly. Operation instruction The settings of the interface need to be done by using the DIS - stalk. By pushing the stalk in the specific direction for about 5 seconds the single functions will be activated as well as deactivated. Current setting will be displayed by Indicators. Activated- indicator right Deactivated- indicator left NOTE: In order to do the settings the key has to be removed of the ignition lock. Stalk to the front - Activate/Deactivate Interface Easily turn off the interface. It is suitable for example before a workshop visit. Previous properties are not affected. Stalk uppwards - Activate/Deactivate interior switch Easily turn on and off the operation by using the interior switch. Stalk downwards - Activate/Deactivate remote Easily turn on and off the operation by using the remote. Safety - Comfort Functions for the Interface Remote Activated + Interior switch Deactivated : Inserting/ removing the key from the ignition during an opening/closing procedure started by the remote control will stop the process. Remote Deactivated + Interior switch Activated : Inserting/ removing the key from the ignition during an opening/closing procedure started by the interior switch will stop the process. Remote Activated + Interior switch Activated : inserting/ removing the key from the ignition during an opening/closing procedure, the originally initiated procedure will be completed. By using the interior switch as well as removing the key from the ignition the car will be locked automatically after finishing the closing procedure. 6
