These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. NOTE: This installation instruction show the left fog light being installed. The same procedure applies to installing the right fog light. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Remove the radiator cover (five clips). RADIATOR COVER CLIPS 2328091K 2 of 12 AII 40515 (0810) 2008 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 4. With the help of an assistant, remove the front bumper (five clips, four stepped bolts, and four selftapping screws). 6. Inside the bumper, use a utility knife to cut out the fog light opening. Remove any burrs from the cut edge. Do not cut. Do not cut. Cut off. FRONT BUMPER 5 CLIPS 4 STEPPED BOLTS 4 SELF- TAPPING SCREWS 850902AS 5. Attach masking tapes to the front bumper around the fog light opening as shown. FRONT BUMPER (surface side) MASKING TAPES 851113AS FRONT BUMPER (Inside ) 7. 8. Inside the bumber, slide the fog light assembly into the cutout and secure it with two self-tapping screws and one washer-bolt. Routing the Fog Light Harness 10. Starting under the left headlight, route the fog light harness 1-pin connector and ground terminal through the hole in the front bulkhead. 2 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS 1-PIN LEFT FRONT BUMPER WASHER-BOLT, (reverse) 5 x 12 mm 9. Repeat steps 5 thru 8 to install the fog light on the right side of the front bumper. 851103AS BLUE TAPE GROUND TERMINAL VEHICLE 1-PIN LEFT FRONT BULKHEAD PANEL 6224051K 11. Locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness and remove the blue tape to free the 1-pin connector. 12. Remove the ground bolt that fastens the vehicle ground terminal and secure the fog light harness ground terminal using the ground bolt. 14. Behind the front side frame, route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (short end) down, and out through the clearance between the side frame and front bumper beam. LEFT FRONT SIDE FRAME GROUND TERMINAL GROUND BOLT Reuse. 6224011K 13. Secure the fog light harness 1-pin connector and the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. Do not secure the 1-pin connector to the SRS harness with the wire tie. SRS SENSOR 1-PIN SRS WIRE TIE FRONT BUMPER BEAM 2-PIN (SHORT END) 851308AS 15. Route the fog light harness 2-pin connector (long end) from underneath the left headlight to the engine compartment, then along the vehicle harness behind the front bulkhead upper frame. 16. Continue routing the fog light harness 2-pin connector from underneath the right headlight to the front of the vehicle, then down to the bottom of the front side frame along the outside of the right bulkhead side stay. 19. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with three wire ties in the areas shown. VEHICLE RIGHT HEADLIGHT FRONT SIDE FRAME 2-PIN FRONT BUMPER BEAM 5003041K 17. Push the two clips on the fog light harness into the holes in the bulkhead side stay. RIGHT BULKHEAD SIDE STAY GREEN TAPE WIRE TIE 2 CLIPS HOLE 851309AS 18. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle frame with one wire tie at the green tape location. 2 WIRE TIES 851111AS 20. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with the seven wire ties in the areas shown. 21. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. Secure the fog light harness to the left bulkhead side stay with one wire tie with clip. 23. Push the one clip on the fog light harness into the hole in the left bulkhead side stay. 24. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle frame with one wire tie. 25. While holding the front bumper near the front of the vehicle, plug the fog light harness 2-pin connectors into the 2-pin connectors from the fog lights. Reinstall the front bumper. 2-PIN RIGHT 2-PIN FRONT BUMPER 2-PIN LEFT 2-PIN 851104AS Routing the Switch Harness 26. Remove the driver s dashboard lower cover, turn the knobs clockwise, then pull the cover out toward you to release the six retaining tabs. 6 RETAINING TABS DRIVER S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER KNOBS 2403050K 2008 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 27. Lower the steering wheel using the tilt lever. Remove the two self-tapping screws and one washer-screw from the lower steering column cover. 29. Slide the relay bracket onto the switch harness relay block. STEERING WHEEL Turn the steering wheel 90 clockwise. 6 RETAINING TABS RELAY TILT LEVER SELF- TAPPING SCREWS WASHER- SCREW Press. UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 6516060K 28. Separate the upper steering column cover from the lower steering column cover. Turn the steering wheel 90 clockwise, and press point to release the retaining tab. Press point and then to release the retaining tabs. Once these retaining tabs are released, the retaining tabs on the opposite side will release. A C B RELAY BLOCK RELAY BRACKET 5926052K 30. Plug the relay into the switch harness relay block. 31. Install the relay bracket on the data link connector bracket using one 6 x 16 mm washer-bolt and flange nut. 32. Remove the one clip from the front bulkhead. VEHICLE 3-PIN VEHICLE 37. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. VEHICLE WIRE TIES VEHICLE 3-PIN CLIP BLUE TAPE Remove. CLIP 851315AS 33. Locate the 3-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness and remove the blue tape to free 3-pin connector. Slide the clip onto the 3-pin connector you just freed. 34. Plug the switch harness 3-pin connector into the 3-pin connector freed in step 33. Push the clip into the hole shown. 1-PIN FUSE BOX FUSE BOX 1-PIN PORT FUSE CASE HOLE DATA LINK BRACKET 20 A FUSE LABEL 3-PIN 3-PIN Freed in step 33 CLIP 5926072K 35. Attach the 20 A fuse label to the switch harness fuse case. 36. Plug the switch harness 1-pin connector into the fuse box in the location as shown. 38. Turn the steering wheel 90 counterclockwise. VEHICLE 16-PIN CASE LEVER TAB HOLE COMBINATION STEERING COLUMN RETAINING TAB 5926082K SELF- TAPPING SCREWS 851321AS 39. Unplug the vehicle 16-pin connector from the switch. 40. Remove the two self-tapping screws from the combination switch. While pushing the retaining tab, slide the combination light switch out, and remove it from the steering column. 41. Install the new combination switch on the steering column using the two self-tapping screws. Hold the case by hand, then install the new combination light switch to the steering column. Do not push on the lever when installing the case. Push in on the case and securely set the retaining tab into the tab hole. VEHICLE 16-PIN LEVER TAB HOLE CASE RETAINING TAB COMBINATION STEERING COLUMN SELF- TAPPING SCREWS 851322AS 42. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 43. Reinstall all removed parts. Check that all clips and fasteners are installed securely. 44. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 45. Reset the clock, and reset the radio station presets. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected, the driver s window AUTO function is disabled. Start the engine. Push down on the driver s window switch until the window is fully open. Pull up on the driver s window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 1 second or more. Lower and raise the driver s window to check operation of the driver s window AUTO function. USE AND CARE Operating the Fog Lights Turn the light switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Turn the fog light switch (indicator in the meter comes on). OFF - - - - - - ON - 851114AS NOTE: The fog light lenses can cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather. Adjusting the Fog Light Aiming Adjust the aiming according local laws and regulations. 1. Remove the four stepped bolts and two bolts, then push in the inner fender. INNER FENDER Replacing the Bulb 4. Remove the four stepped bolts and two bolts, then push in the inner fender. INNER FENDER 4 STEPPED BOLTS BOLTS 2. To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment knob in or out until the correct aiming is obtained. To raise. To lower. AIMING ADJUSTMENT KNOB 3. Reinstall the all removed parts. 851110AS 851106AS 4 STEPPED BOLTS BOLTS 851110AS 5. Unplug the connector. Turn the bulb counterclockwise and remove it from the socket. 6. Install the new bulb into the socket. Take extreme care when replacing the fog light bulb to avoid damaging the lenses or finished surfaces of the body. Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N 33165-S5A-003 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. When installing the new bulb, align the cutout on the fog light with the tab on the new bulb and turn the new bulb in completely. If not properly aligned, the fog light may blind oncoming drivers. BULB Turn the bulb until it stop. 851108AS 7. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. Make sure to tighten the bolts securely. 8.
