We, Keyang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd., would like to express our sincerest gratitude to you who always use our power tools. You must read carefully this instruction manual before use the tool for safe and effective operation. 2

N o t e We, Keyang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd., have done best efforts for research and development to improve quality of our products. Thus, the shape or structure of the model can be changed without previous notice. 3

The instructions in this user s guide include critical information for safe use. When you do not keep the instructions, you may cause death, serious injury and property damage. Please always keep in mind that Brush Cutter is a machinery that uses sharp blades and gasoline, which is an inflammable matter. Use it with care. For safe usage, the notations are divided into Warning and Caution depending on the level of danger involved. Their meanings are as follows: In order to prevent accidents that can happen easily while using or handling the Brush Cutter, and also for work safety, the Safety Instructions are divided into the sections of Clothing, Environment, Fire hazards, Pre-operation stages, Operational stages and Postoperation stages. These warnings and cautionary instructions for safety cannot cover all possible situations or conditions that can happen. Therefore, scrupulous cares are needed when operating or storing the product. Please read completely and understand. And be careful so that accident does not occur. Illustrative signs used on the product and in the handling instructions are as follows: This sign means Care is needed because there are possibilities that danger may occur under certain conditions. This sign means Prohibited because there are possibilities that danger may occur under certain conditions. When working, wear the following protective gears. To protect head, wear safety hat. To protect eyes, wear safety glasses. To protect ears, wear earmuffs. Wear knee protectors. If protective gears were not worn, flying objects such as rocks can cause injuries. 4

Wear clothing that is suitable for work. Wear slip resistant safety shoes. Wear gloves when working. Tie long hairs above shoulders. Do not wear hanging down clothes, neckties, scarves, or ribbons. Working with unsuitable clothing can become a cause of accident by slipping, getting burned, or getting caught in the machine while working. Do not use the tool in indoors or where ventilation is poor. Toxic emission gas can cause suffocation. Do not use when it is raining. Can receive electric shock and can cause an accident by slipping Do not use when unable to operate the product normally due to alcohol, drug or anything else. It can causes a safety accident. 5

Do not open the fuel tank cap or refuel while the engine is running or when the engine is hot. It can cause fire or burn. Do not smoke or make a bonfire near the Brush Cutter. It can cause a fire. Remove rocks, wires, cans, etc. from the working area. Obstructing objects can cause injuries. Inspect the safety cover and always use with the safety cover attached. If used without the safety cover being attached or used with a cracked or malfunctioning safety cover, foreign objects such as rocks can shoot out and cause injuries. 6

Check tightness of each part before using. If used with loosened parts or without some parts, the product can be damaged or cause injuries. Absolutely do not use when there is something wrong with blade. If used when there is something wrong with blade such as being nicked, cracked or bent, it can cause death or injury. If there is something wrong with blade, always replace with a new one. If the way the blade is assembled looks not right, do not use the equipment After the blade is assembled, turn it with hand. If there is wobble or strange noise, it can cause an accident through vibration when it rotates. When there is something wrong, always reassemble and verify before using. Before turning on, always adjust the throttle lever to low speed (L). Only after that, turn it on. If the lever is at high speed, the blade starts rotating abruptly and can cause an accidents. Grab the Brush Cutter securely so that it won t move and make sure that the blade is not touching the ground, and then, turn it on. If the blade touches the ground, it can break off or shoot out and cause an accidents. 7

Do not turn the adjusting screw on the carburetor. It can make the blade start rotating abruptly and cause an accidents. When working on a hill or a sloping ground, make sure to maintain the balance and work with stable posture. Working from unstable posture can cause slipping or falling and can cause an accident. While working, do not allow any animal or person to approach within 15 meters radius. Rotating blade or foreign object can shoot out and cause injuries. Use the blade for designated uses only. Number 3, 4 and 5 blades are only for cutting grass and thus, should not be used for wrong uses such as cutting trees, etc. 8

Do not work near steel wires or vines. Steel wires or vines can be tangled up or shoot out and cause an accident. Do not allow any part of body or clothing to touch the blade while operating. The sharp blade rotates in high speed and can inflict serious injury. Be careful not to come into contact with hightension wires or with spark plug area while operating the equipment. It can cause an electric shock. The old and the weak or children should not use. Unskilled use can become a cause for an accident. 9

When stopping the work or moving to another location, make sure to stop the engine and be careful not to allow the blade to touch your body. In case the blade rotates due to malfunction or bumps into body, it can cause an accidents. If fuel is spilled, wipe it off thoroughly. Spilled fuel can stain clothing or cause a fire. Start the engine at least 3 meters away from the place where you refueled or where you store fuel. Because of heat or the sparks generated by the engine, fire can be ignited. If there is any abnormal vibration while operating, stop the engine immediately. It can cause a breakdown of the machinery or can cause an accidents. 10

Do not operate with only one hand. Unstable manipulation can cause an accidents. When the Brush Cutter is not used while resting, etc, stop the engine and put it down in horizontal position. In case fuel gets leaked out, it can cause a fire. When inspecting, do it after stopping the engine and separating the spark plug cap from the plug. False start can cause an accidents. Do not touch the engine until it cools down There are many parts that radiate large amount of heat such as muffler, etc. These parts remain hot even after the engine is turned off and can cause burns. 11

When storing for a long-term(more than 20 days), always drain fuel before storing. If stored with fuel undrained, it will become difficult to start the next time due to the settled deposits in fuel passages. When storing for a long-term, clean each part and apply thin coat of oil on metal parts. Rust can make the product inoperable or degrade its performances. Observe the mixture ratio of the fuel. Observe the mixture ratio of 20~25 parts of Gasoline to 1 part of 2-cycle engine oil. Too much oil causes smoky exhaust fume and degrade the output power. Too little oil can damage the engine due to excessive heat. 12

13

Keyang brush cutter is separated in 3 different parts at large; Main body(engine part), Flexible shaft hose part and Working bar. Please assemble as following order and technigues. Before assembling the flexible shaft hose and main body, please remove the cap A and B; when keep in store by separated, please cover the caps. After removing the bolt by L wrench, please push in the elastic shaft into connector; and then set the bolt as well. After connection, be sure to check if the flexible shaft hose and drive shaft tube are well set each other by pulling. (If too much tight set, it might cause broken the unit.). After assembling, be sure to check the connecting condition once more. 14

Please set the protection rubber to the flexible shaft hose as figure. Please cover the connected part with protection rubber as arrow direction. (when engine starts, there might happen being burnt.) It can cause a burn while running the engine Stop pin, Up, Down, Socket, When assemble the flexible shaft hose, with stop pin up, please push in the flexible shaft to socket hole correctly, then set free the stop pin. When the pin enters to the hole, it sounds "click". After setting together, please pull the flexible shaft hose, to check if it removes. 15

When shipping at factory, as the throttle lever and wire are assembled, in order to assemble the throttle wire on the drive shaft tube with setting the throttle lever at low speed, please pull the wire as arrow direction; and then the wire gets separated from the throttle lever handle. After assembling the throttle wire in lever, please set the lever on the bar, where the location it is possible by hand control. After setting the lead wire cover on the flexible shaft hose assembled with releasable tie please connect the black and red lead wires; the throttle wire let be passed inside the rubber handle. 16

Please assemble completely the handle as figure shown at the convenient position for working. Release the handle in counter clockwise. After pulling the stop pin, the shaft A gets pushed the socket B hole in; with the holes of stop pin position and drive shaft tube set together; the stop pin sets free.( click" sounds). By turning slowly the drive shaft tube of no getting hole together with stop pin; get set the holes together correctly. Caution Never set the handle tightly without drive shaft tube. After assembling, be sure to check if they are well assembled by pulling. Common blade(3 way, 4 way, circular saw) setting In gear assembly, after assembling the washer A, blade, washer B, blade cover, and nut by order; with L wrench, the grass cover hole gets in washer hole A; after getting no turning the blade, the nut should be set tightly with box spanner.(in case of no getting together the holes of grass cover and washer A; with L wrench by turning the blade a little the holes get together; and then the blade is being set.) 17

How to assemble the nylon blade(option item) After setting the L type wrench by inserting the grass cover washer A, with washer B gets set, by turning left the nylon blade, it gets assembled. The length of nylon blade is mostly suitable in 12cm and 14cm. gear cluster, grass cover, washer A, washer B, nylon blade, left setting Please assemble carefully the washer A and B by order and direction. Fuel gets filled in fuel tank. Fuel can be used the mixed oil with the unleaded gasoline for automobile and engine oil for 2 cycle engine. Mixing rate of gasoline and 2 cycle engine oil Fuel gets filled in fuel tank. In case of using of wrong blending oil, It can cause some engine troubles. When oil gets spilled out, always clean up ; if not, It can stain clothing or cause fire. Set the throttle lever to the lower speed L by adjusting. If it is set at high speed position, since the blade gets turned suddenly, it is very dangerous. Turn the fuel cock to open position and supply fuel to the carburetor 20

As figure, with holding the main shaft, after stepping the lower frame, let start the engine. When getting started, please move the throttle lever a little up. This time the engine gets idling condition. At this time, the engine shonld be running on idle but the blade shaould not rotate After shouldering the brash cutter on your back, raise the throttle lever slowly until the blade stant to rotate, then work As shown below, by order please get the grass cutter on your back shoulder. Slowly engine rotating up control, please work safely and successfully. Idle means that the engine is operating without rotating the blade, disengaged from the load 21

(1) Put the throttle lever in low speed position; and make the engine in idling condition. (2)When push the stop switch, engine gets stopped. Until the fuel gets finished, never use the engine. When gets fuel finished during working, it's very hard to get started for next operation. In case of emergency, you can turn off the engine by pushing the stop switch If the stop switch does not work, you can turn off the engine by pulling out the ignition plug cap. Since the blade rotates left direction (counter clockwise in upper view), It is more effective way to cut the grass towards left side. In case the blade hits hard object like stone etc, while rotating, turn off the engine and check if there is any crack on the blade. Tighten the blade and check if it makes any noise when shaken on turned by hand. If the engine keeps in no use with fuel filled in tank for a long time, it can cause an impossible use due to get clogged with fuel contaminates in the passway of the carburettor. Please remove the rest fuel from tank. With the condition of fuel cock closed, please try to get the engine started or let the engine leave it until it gets stopped automatically. And please take out the fuel in carburettor. 22

1) After the work is completed, detach the washer A from the gear assembly and clean out scraps, grass, etc, lodged inside. Clean and apply oil sparingly. Take off the blade, clean and apply oil on both side 2) Remove Air clenner, full filter, etc. clean and dry them and reassemble. 1) Flexible shaft hose After getting separated the flexible shaft hose from drive shaft tube and engine unit, the flexible shaft gets removed from it; apply grease at all part of the square spring shaft. After reassembling, keep them covered with cap. The connecting parts of the drive shaft tube and engine should cover with cloth for not getting other dirty things in it. Be sure to keep the unit not to be bending, when the flexible shaft hose assembled together on the grass cutter. 2) Loosen the joint pant between the drive shaft tube and flexible shaft hose. 23

3) How to dispose the remaining fuel When storing for a long-tem, drain the fuel from the fuel tank and drain the fuel that remains within the Carburetor chamber following the contour of the chamber as shown by the illustration. If it is stored with fuel in the fuel tank for a long-tem, the engine oil(lubricating oil)settles at the bottom of the fuel tank and becomes a cause for failure to start. 4) Inspection and periodical checkup table Before working After working Every 25 hours Every 100 hours Blade checking Inspect Blande Inspect the tightness of the Blade holding nut Inspect the holding bolt of the Gear assembly Inspect Safety cover Inspect bolts Inspect drive shaft tube Clean Gear assembly Inject Grease into Gear assembly Clean Clutch drum Tightening parts Apply grease onto Flexible shaft It is dangerous for consumens to troublshoot or repair for themselves for abnormal engine. Please call for A/S center and follow the instructions. 24
