Overview The 606T-2 unit is designed to be used as a spray or foam unit where up to two chemicals can be attached to the unit along with a clean water rinse. The unit features three ball valves for control of the water through the unit. The inlet and outlet connections are standard garden hose thread connections (3/4 Garden Hose Threads). Warnings All installations must conform to local plumbing codes and use approved backflow prevention devices. A pressure indicating tee is to be installed with existing faucets according to local plumbing codes in the state of Wisconsin and any other state that requires the use of a pressure indicting tee. ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND EYEWEAR WHEN WORKING WITH CHEMICAL PRODUCTS. I-803 Page 1 of 8

Installation Instruction 1. MOUNTING THE SPRAY CLEAN: 1. Prepare the Spray Clean Site. a) Ensure that the Spray Clean intake and outlet ports can reach the supply and outlet hoses. b) The Spray Clean should be positioned no more than 6 ft (2 m) above the liquid chemical container. 2. Screw the Spray Clean Base into a wall or any stable vertical base using the screw and anchor kit provided. 3. Mount the unit on a vertical surface using the six screws & anchors provided through the mounting holes in the base. Drill all of the holes into the wall using a ¼ diameter bit for use with #10 screws & anchors. If mounting the Select-O-Matic to wood and do not plan to use the included anchors, drill 1/8 diameter holes. 4. Connect the discharge hoses to the outlet garden hose fitting. Spray guns, spray nozzles or foaming wands may be used on the hose outlets. 2. INSTALLATION: The water inlet is equipped with a female garden hose fitting. The fitting may be removed to permit direct connect to a 3/8 NPT pipe connection. Water supply pressure should not exceed 125 psi. Water temperature must not exceed 160 F. 1. Position the liquid chemical containers no more than 6 ft beneath the unit and not positioned above the unit. 2. Measure the amount of Tubing you will need to connect from the chemical containers to the injectors and cut to length. 3. Check to insure that the suction tube is not bent. 4. Put the strainer end of the tube into the chemical container, put the ceramic weight on the tubing, and attach the other end to the Injector. 5. Hoses, spray guns and foam wands are available through Dema. See the parts list on page 5, under Optional Accessories for various styles. Operation Instruction 1. OPERATION: a. To operate the Spray Clean, ensure the water supply is turned on within the pressure and temperature range stated above. b. Select which chemical or the water rinse you are using, make sure to only have one of the valves open at one time. c. On the outlet connection make sure your hose is not longer than stated below in the Table 1. If a nozzle is placed on the hose make sure it is not less than 4 GPM at 40 PSI. Table 1 HOSE I.D. 3/8 1/2 5/8 MAX. LENGTH 15 FT. (4.5 M) 50 FT. (15 M) 100 FT. (30 M) d. The chemical feed rate is controlled by metering tips which were included with the unit. The following table shows the various induction rates for differing viscosities of chemical with different metering tips. I-803 Page 3 of 8
WARNING USE CARE WHEN HANDLING HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS. e. Place the chemical container in a convenient location not more than 6 ft. below the Select-O -Matic. (Greater lifts will reduce injection capabilities). The top of the container should not be above the Select-O-Matic. Slip a ceramic weight over a chemical supply tube and slide it against the foot strainer. Cut the vinyl tube to any convenient length that will allow the tubing to reach the bottom of the container. Drop the tubing end with the strainer and ceramic weight into the chemical container. Push the other tubing end over the chemical inlet barb located on the side of the unit. Note: Spartan Select-O-Matic comes with preset tips for Inspectors Choice and Sani-T-10. Refer to Tables 2 thru 5 to select metering tips for other products before attaching tubing to the Select-O-Matic. The Select-O-Matic permits the operator to select one of two chemicals or clear water rinse by opening and closing the appropriate ball valve. Only one valve should be opened at any time. If two valves are opened simultaneously, the injector may not induct chemical. When using a spray gun or foaming wand make sure that the gun on the end of the hose is in the full open position when inducting chemical. I-803 Page 4 of 8

Note: Leaner dilutions are available using DEMA metering tip kit #100-15KU or capillary tip #44-61P Troubleshooting Be sure to turn off water supply before servicing PROBLEM CHECK SOLUTION Unit fails to draw chemical 1. Is more than one valve open? 2. Is the outlet hose being used too long? 3. Is the metering tip blocked 4. Is the hose kinked? 5. Is the gun or nozzle sized properly? 6. Is the spray gun fully open? 1. Close all valves but the one being used. 2. Check Table 1 on page 3 to see proper length needed. 3. Remove metering tip and clear blockage. 4. Undo the kink in the hose and check for other obstructions 5. Take the gun or nozzle off and turn the water back on to see if it will draw chemical. Unit stops drawing chemical 1. Is the foot strainer clogged with chemical or other debris? 2. Is the spray nozzle partially clogged? 3. Is the metering tip blocked? 4. Is the injector check valve blocked? 1. Removed the foot strainer and clean it 2. Removed the spray nozzle and clean it. 3. Removed the metering tip and clean the blockage. 4. Remove the plastic metering knob from the injector to inspect the check valve ball, spring, and o-ring. I-803 Page 5 of 8
Removing and replacing injectors 1. Remove the ball valve handles, the plastic cover, the 2 chemical inlet tubes, and the inlet and outlet hoses. 2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 5 screws holding the manifold onto the base. NOTE: Before continuing, injectors that fail to draw chemical because of hard water deposits can be cleaned by soaking entire manifold in a lime-removing solution. 3. Grab the upper and lower rectangular plastic pieces and pull them apart. 4. Unscrew both injector and adapter assemblies. 5. Unscrew the adapter from each injector, apply pipe dope to the threads of the new injector, and screw the adapter onto the replacement injector noting that the flow arrow of the injector must point toward the adapter. 6. Screw the new injector/adapter assemblies onto the ball valves using pipe dope. Note that the barbs of the metering knobs must point to the outside. (see page 4 of 5) 7. Grab each manifold again, and lining up the holes in the manifold with the adapters and the center pipe, shove them together. 8. Replace the 5 screws that hold the manifold onto the base. If the screws do not thread into the base, either push together or pull apart the manifolds slightly until they do line up. 9. Push the chemical tubes onto the two injector barbs, replace the cover, and replace the ball valve handles, making sure that they are in the horizontal position and the arrows point to the left. 10. Replace the inlet and outlet hoses. CAUTION: WHEN SERVICING UNIT BE SURE THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ACCORDING TO DRAWING. BE CERTAIN CHECK VALVE PARTS ARE IN PLACE.
