He will be greatly missed by our club. Welcome New Member William R. McCoy from Imlay City has joined our club. He says he has too many scooters to list. We are very happy he has joined us and are looking forward to meeting him.

Meeting Minutes President Tim Brandt called the meeting to order at 1:22 P.M on May 26, 2013 in Battle Creek, Michigan with 24 members present. Tim welcomed and thanked everyone for coming out to Binders Zoo. Tim thanked Paul and Diane Jones for hosting this event. Saturday s ride included one guest, Dave Kline. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Russ Yager, and it was seconded by Mike Niefert. The motion passed with a majority show of hands. Treasurer s Report Diane Brandt gave the treasurer s report giving an ending balance of $346.72.. A motion was made by Don Frasure to accept the treasury report. It was seconded by Frankie Hayes and the motion passed with a majority show of hands. Just a reminder: Dues are due next month, June. Old Business Diana Edmondson wanted to report that we received a thank you note from Colleen and Mike Niefert for the club s support from when her brother passed away. Hats and shirts will be available at Portland. Tom Milanov wanted to let everyone know about the Battle of the Brits Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet on Sunday, September 8, 2013. For more information contact Tom. If anyone is interested on going on the Old 27 Tour, contact Paul Jones. New Business Curtis is doing the Gilmore Museum on June 28, 29, 30 if anyone is interested. Also, he is doing a ride the following weekend if you would like to leave your bikes at Curtis that is fine. The ride will be on Saturday and will be leaving at 11:00 A.M. There are hotels near the Gilmore Museum and Camping is free, but they are asking for a donation. Scooters will be set up near the diner. Tim gave a short talk on bike safety. He reminded everyone to maintain your staggered position while riding and to use hand signals. Adjournment Motion was made by Russ Yager to adjourn the meeting at 1:38 P.M., second by Paul Jones. Motion passed. From the desk of the Safety Officer Tim Brandt I don t want to preach, but just to let you know that I, myself, in the past have been guilty of not following safe riding procedures. To avoid any mishaps or accidents in the future, I am trying to correct that and encourage the club to ride safely also. It has come to my attention that some riders refuse to ride on the right side position and will only ride on the left side for staggered riding. This can cause an unsafe condition

where two left side only riders are behind one another. The rider directly behind has a limited safety distance without causing a large gap between riders. In the future, if you do not wish to ride on the right side, please position yourself on the left side so that you are staggered in the group. Do not follow another left side rider. This rule applies to right side only riders too. This may mean moving to the middle or rear of the group. Also, remember your hand signals: Left arm extended for left turn. Right arm extended bent straight up for right turn. Two fingers in the air indicate staggered formation. One finger up indicates ride single file. Left hand pointing down indicates left side road hazard. Left hand over back of head pointing down to right indicates right side road hazard. I would also encourage riders to move up to side by side formation at a light or stop sign only. Remember we want everyone to be safe. Thank you for your cooperation. Motor City Cushman Club: 2013-2014 Schedule of Events Listed below is the approved schedule for this year as voted on at the Planning Meeting.
