Remove the plastic retaining tabs by twisting them out with a pair of long nosed pliers (as ahown). 2. Use a flat blade screw driver to unclip the factory insert from the chrome frame.. Remove the factory Lincoln emblem from the chrome surround (to be reused)..

5 6 7 5. Install the mesh insert into the back of the factory chrome surround. Install the upper mesh retainers using the factory mounting studs removed in step. Make suer you have the proper retainer in the correct orientation. The inner retainers are taller and will not work on the outer stud bosses. 6. Align the upper center mesh retainer and use a 7/2 drill bit to drill through the existing mounting hole and through the factory chrome surround. Countersink the hole in the emblem recess for flush screw installation. 7. Install the countersunk machine screw through the emblem recess and through the center retaining bracket and install the supplied ESNA lock nut and tighten. 8 0 8. Install the supplied black plastic washer underneath the center top mounting stud (as shown). 9. Install the five (5) lower mesh retaining clips onto the lower factory mounting tabs. Push down on the clips until it snaps over the mounting tab. 2 0. Tape the mesh grille up to the factory insert mounting tabs and paint the inside of the surround and the mounting tabs flat or semi-gloss black (/2 of the inside factory grille surround shown painted in contrast to the unpainted side for paint application area). Make sure you paint both sides.

2. Apply flat or semi-gloss black paint to the visible part of the A/C heat exchanger (radiator) as it will be visible through the mesh grille (one side is painted so you can see that it makes a big difference). 2. Carefully tape up the side of the headlights, exposing the side of the plastic lense that is beveled on an angle and the raised perimeter where the lense seals against the reflector. Scuff and apply flat or semi-gloss black paint to these areas as they will be visible through the mesh grille.. Install the E&G grille support brackets reusing the factory 0mm hex head bolts (hand tighten only at this time). 5 5. Align the Mesh grille onto the hood and reinstall the 0mm hex nuts across the top of the grille and tighten them. 5. Pull the side mounting brackets installed in the previous step as far forward as possible then tighten. This will prevent the grille frame from making contact with the headlights. 6. Align the hood mounting brackets with the factory chrome surround and tighten the 0mm hex bolts. Use a /8 drill bit to drill through the existing mounting hole in each hood mounting bracket and through the factory chrome surround (as shown). 7. Install the supplied stainless steel rivets to secure the chrome surround to the hood mounting brackets.

8 9 8. Remove the 5.5mm hex head screws securing the inner front fender splash panels to the front bumper cover ( screws per side) From underneath, remove the two large push fasteners behind the rubber air deflector securing the lower bumper cover brackets. 9. From underneath, remove the two large push fasteners behind the rubber air deflector securing the lower bumper cover brackets. IMPORTANT: Disconnect the electrical connectors from the driving lamps located in the bumper cover (not shown). 20. From inside the driver s front wheel well, remove four () push fasteners securing the small plastic panel and remove it from the inner wheel well. 2 2 22 2. Remove the three () 0mm hex head bolts that retain the headlights, unplug the wire harness and turn signal / side marker lamp connections and remove the headlight assemblies from the vehicle. 22. Remove the two (2) 0mm hex head bolts (per side) retaining the bumper cover to the front fenders. 2. Squeeze the center alignment pin together to release the bumper cover from the front fenders.

2 25 2. Carefully tape the paint on the bumper cover to protect the finish (not shown). Push down on the upper mounting tabs located under the headlights and across the center of the grille to release them. Carefully remove the bumper cover from the vehicle and place it onto a smooth, clean work surface. 25. Remove the factory grille insert by first removing the factory metal clips that retain the sides of the plastic factory grille insert. Pry them off with a flat blade screwdriver (not reused). 26. Push down to unclip each of the factory mount ing tabs that secure the insert into the bumper cover and remove it (not reused). 27 0 27. Align the E&G mesh section into the bumper cover opening. Make sure the mounting fingers on the bumper cover center bar are pushed through the slots cut in the mesh (slight trimming of the mounting fingers may be required) 28. The hollow arrows shown in the picture are the proper locations for the retaining clips. 29. Install three () mounting retainers (evenly spaced across the top) using the supplied /8 stainless steel rivets. Make sure that the tab is tight against the crimps in the mesh and the mounting leg is on top of the bumper cover to keep it hidden. The rivet head is the only thing that should be visible from the outside. Use of an angle drill (type shown) is necessary. 5 0. Install three () mounting retainers (as shown, evenly spaced across the bottom) using the supplied black truss head screws. Drill a /2 pilot hole through the first two (2) layers of plastic and allow the screw to self tap through the lower section of the bumper cover.
