INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. REPLACE ALL WARNING LABELS WHEN THEY BECOME UNREADABLE. (ANSICD-1) USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE DRAWING INCLUDED. UNPACK, IDENTIFY AND FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE UNIT. ROLL ASSEMBLY STANDARD INSTALLATION Assemble -1- G1633 Center Section into the right and left side rollers on the ground. The left or drivers side roller is the one with the folding crank attached. Bolt -2- G2005 Roll Mounting Angles to the inside of each Bearing Plate using the 3/8 bolts, nuts and lock washers provided. Place the roller assembly on the top front portion of the container approximately 3 back from the front edge. Check to see that the Roller Assembly is square to the container and then tack weld the bottom of the roll mounting angles to the container. The roller is telescopic and can be expanded or collapsed to fit the application WINDSCREEN Included in the kit are 2 pcs. of 2 x 2 x 1/8 48 steel angle iron (G2120) that are to be welded to the top front of the container to support the Windscreen (G2080). Weld these in place on the container making sure they are straight and square to the container. Place the 2 pc. Windscreen on top of the Mounting Angles making sure that the edges butt tightly or overlap in the center. The bottom lip has pre punched holes which must be marked and drilled in the Mounting Angles. Mark and drill these holes and then fasten the Windscreen to these angles with the 3/8 hardware provided. DO NOT WELD THE WINDSCREEN TO THE MOUNTING ANGLES. It has been shown that welding the windscreen to these angles or to the container results in the cracking of weld and weakening of the windscreen. COVER (TARP) Make sure the shock cords are on the top of the tarp. Wrap the tarp ¾ of the way around the roller in a clockwise direction as viewed from the left (crank or drivers) side of the container using -5-1 sheet metal screws and fender washers provided. Two extra screws are provided to anchor the center section to the left and right roller halves. Install these to hold everything in place. Make sure the tarp is straight on the roller and the fender washers are firmly in place over the grommets. After attaching the tarp to the roller, you are ready to install the 2 pc. Rear Section. Assemble the two pcs. by screwing them together at the coupling and tighten securely with pipe wrenches. www.pioneercoverall.com 3 866-353-5826

Slide the assembled Rear Section thru the pocket at the rear of the tarp and center the tarp on this tube. NOTE: THE REAR SECTION MAY HAVE TO BE CUT. A GOOD GUIDE FOR THE PROPER LENGTH IS 3-4 WIDER THAN THE CONTAINER AT ITS WIDEST POINT. Insert -1- G2014 Cover Spring into each grommet at the rear of the tarp. Drill -1- ¼ dia. Hole in the Rear Section on both sides and insert -1- ¼ Cotter pin into each hole and spread open. Attach the loose end of the cover spring into the eye of the cotter pin. The cover springs are intended to keep the tarp centered on the Rear Section. The shock cords on the top of the tarp are designed to fold the tarp upward and inward so the 9 wide tarp will roll up between the bearing plates on a container. This is accomplished by firmly tying one end of the shock cord to a loop on one side of the tarp and then passing the other end thru the loop in the center of the tarp towards the other side and stretching the shock cord so that it pulls the tarp up and in. The amount of tension applied to the shock cord will vary depending on the width between the bearing plates. Tie a secure knot in the loose end of the shock cord when a satisfactory amount of tension has been applied to cause the tarp to wind properly. The best test for this is to check the tarp while it is being wound onto the roller in a clockwise direction as viewed from the drivers side. The tarp should not bunch up and/or rub on the bearing plates. Shock cords that are too tight are as bad as those which are too loose. Be patient, they may have to be adjusted a couple of times in order to get them right. Make sure that the first couple of winds on the roller are smooth and even. If not, the tarp will wind up faster on one side than the other because of the extra material which gives a larger circumference to the roller. Check to make sure that the tarp, when fully wound onto the roller does not rub on the windscreen. If it does, the roller assembly can be moved back. When you are satisfied with the position of the roller, securely weld the Roll Mounting Angles to the top of the container. TARP STRAPS Included with your unit are -13- Tarp Straps and -26- S hooks. Assemble the S hooks into the tarp straps and use as follows: 1 Tarp strap is used to secure the crank handle when the tarp is either rolled up to prevent it from unrolling or when the tarp is covering the container to prevent excess tarp from unrolling off the roller. 2 Tarp straps are used to secure the rear section down over the back of the container. 10 Tarp straps are used to secure the tarp down over the sides of the container when the container is covered. CURVED BOWS (OPTIONAL) The number of curved bows used on each container is left up to the user to decide depending on the type of use required. The location of the bows is best determined by moving the tarp over the container to its covered position and then marking the tarp strap location on the side of the container. It is best to locate the bows in line with the tarp straps so the tarp may be pulled tightly across the bows. The bows have a 6 rise built into them and they may be welded directly to the container such that the ends are even to the top sides of the container. This will prevent the tarp from snagging on the corners and causing damage to the tarp. www.pioneercoverall.com 4 866-353-5826

NOTE: THE BOWS ARE 8 LONG AND MAY BE CUT IF NECESSARY TO FIT INSIDE YOUR CONTAINER. IF THE BOWS ARE TO BE CUT, CUT SOME OFF EACH END SO THE HIGHEST POINT OF THE CURVE STAYS IN THE CENTER OF THE BOW. WATERPROOF INSTALLATION In a waterproof installation, the windscreen and mounting angles are not used. Assemble the roller assembly and mounting angles as shown above. Mount the roller assembly on the FRONT of the container so the bearing plates have their long dimension (10 ) are horizontal and the top edge of these plates is 3 below the top front of the container. This type of installation pulls the tarp down over the front of the container and when used properly with the tarp straps will give a waterproof installation. Make sure there are no sharp or rough edges on the front corners of the container that will cause excess wear on the tarp. Use caution when rolling or unrolling the tarp so it does not snag on the front edge of the container. The balance of the installation is the same as above. TO COVER A LOAD: AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, STAY CLEAR OF CRANK 1. Fold the crank out and remove the tarp strap from the crank. 2. Move the tarp to the rear of the container until it overlaps the rear of the container by 1 to 2 feet and secure in place with -2- tarp straps 3. Turn the crank handle in a clockwise rotation to take extra slack out of the tarp. 4. Fold the crank in to its stored position and lock in place with a tarp strap to prevent the tarp from unwinding. 5. Secure the tarp over the sides of the container with tarp straps. TO UNCOVER A LOAD: 1. Unhook and remove the tarp straps from the sides of the tarp. 2. Unhook and remove the tarp straps from the rear section. 3. Remove the tarp strap from the crank and fold out. 4. Turn the crank in a CLOCKWISE DIRECTION to roll the tarp onto the roller. 5. Fold the crank into its stored position and lock in place with a tarp strap to prevent the tarp from unwinding. www.pioneercoverall.com 5 866-353-5826
