Accomplish this Service Bulletin at the next scheduled maintenance or annual inspection, whichever occurs first. Compliance time begins upon receipt of this Service Bulletin.. EFFECTIVITY. APPROVAL FAA approval has been obtained on all technical data in this Service Bulletin that affects type design. Aircraft not operating under FAA requirements and regulatory oversight: It is the operator's responsibility to ensure that installation of this Service Bulletin has been accepted by the local airworthiness authority. 4. PURPOSE On affected aircraft, Cirrus has been made aware of a TKS line that may not be properly routed. To correct this condition, this Service Bulletin provides for the replacement of the quick connect-to-check valve TKS line and rerouting of the radome TKS line. 5. DESCRIPTION This Service Bulletin contains instructions for rerouting the radome TKS line. 6. WARRANTY INFORMATION For aircraft under warranty, enrolled in JetStream Plus or JetStream Concierge at the issue date of this Service Bulletin, Cirrus will cover all parts and labor costs for this Service Bulletin if the work is accomplished within the compliance time period and the work is performed at an Authorized SF5X Cirrus Service Center. 7. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS. A. Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Description P/N or Spec. Supplier Purpose Container - Any Source Catch fluid drip. Clenching Tool, /8 T00-45 CAV Aerospace Swage ferrules. 5-Minute Epoxy VT90 Vibra-TITE Adhesive. Spiral Wrap 47F005 Newark Electronics Protect against line chafing. B. Set BAT and BAT switches to OFF positions. C. Pull WING/STAB IPS, WINDSHLD IPS, and RADAR circuit breakers. D. Remove access panel NR. (Refer to AMM 6-00) E. Remove radome. (Refer to AMM 5-50) F. Replace Quick Connect to Check Valve TKS line. (See Figure 0) () Remove and discard existing line. (a) Place container below coupling to catch fluid drip. (b) Disconnect line from check valve. Remove and retain check valve nut. Remove insert and line from check valve fitting. (c) Remove and retain quick connect fitting. (Refer to AMM 0-80) (d) Discard line, insert, and ferrules. () Install new line. (See Figure 0) (a) Install existing quick connect fitting. (Refer to AMM 0-80) (b) Connect line to check valve. Install existing check valve nut onto formed tube (item 4). Use clenching tool to swage ferrules (item ) and (item ) onto end of tube (item 4). (See Figure 0) (Refer to AMM 0-80) Install insert (item ) into end of line (item 4). 4 Fully insert line (item 4) into check valve fitting. Page
5 Secure with nut. a. Rotate nut finger tight. b. Mark nut at 6 o clock position. c. While holding fitting body steady, tighten nut.5 turns to o clock position. G. Reroute Quick Connect to Radome Nozzle TKS line. () Remove and discard existing cable ties and tie-downs. Note: Maintain minimum bend radius of.0 inches (7.6 cm) in TKS line. If existing TKS line is too short to reroute, fabricate new section from anti-ice nylon tubing (item 7). () Route TKS line from radome spray nozzle to quick connect fitting around EVS offset and away from core. (See Figure 0) Note: Permissible to trim middle tie down (item 6) to fit between EVS offset and foam core. (See Figure 0) () Install tie-downs. (See Figure 0) (a) Prepare tie-downs (item 6) and surfaces. (Refer to AMM 5-0) (b) Bond tie-downs (item 6) to radome inner surface with 5-minute epoxy as needed. (c) Use cable ties (item 5) to attach TKS line to bonded tie-downs (item 6). (4) Apply spiral wrap to tubing in any areas where contact may occur. H. Install radome. (Refer to AMM 5-50) I. Install access panel NR. (Refer to AMM 6-00) J. Reset WING/STAB IPS, WINDSHLD IPS, and RADAR circuit breakers. K. Perform Operational Test - Windshield/Radome Sprayer. (Refer to AMM 0-40) L. Complete airplane records by noting compliance with in Aircraft Logbook.
