1. INTRODUCTION More and more countries are introducing regulations for reducing energy consumption and CO₂. As such, electric motors are concerned. Purpose of this guide is to provide as much information regarding local regulations in the world and so offer best LEROY-SOMER motors solution. 2. EUROPE EU (plus Swiss and Turkey) Regulation in Europe This is the directive known as "eco-design", usually named ErP, 2009/125CE of 10/21/2009 with regulations for electrical motors 640/2009CE imposing to place on the market only IE2 motors from 06/16/2011. Regulation in Swiss This is the Energy Order 730.01 of 24/06/2009. It requires to place on the market only IE2 motors from 07/01/2011. Regulation in Turkey This regulation SGM 2012/2 of 02/07/2012 requires to place on the market only IE2 motors from 04/02/2012. Switzerland and Turkey have adopted the same regulation as the EEC. It is therefore the same technical constraints: regulation, standards, and performances. For the three economic areas, second efficiency step is IE3 (or IE2 + drive) mandatory from: - 01/01/2015 for motors with power 7.5 kw - 01/01/2017 for motors with power 0.75 kw Concerned products o AC three-phases motors o 0.75 to 375 kw o Voltage < 1000V 50 or 50/60Hz o 2, 4 & 6 pole o All IP o All mounting o Continuous duty Non concerned products o Motors which are fully integrated in another product (rotor/stator) 3

o Motors designed to operate when fully submerged in liquid o Motors designed to operate at ambient air temperature > 40 C o Motors designed to operate at altitude > 1000 m o Motors designed to operate at maximum operating temperature > 400 C o Safety motors conforming to directive ATEX 94/9/EC o Brake motors (excepted for Switzerland) o On-board motors (road, rail, water) Motor name-plate and labelling Note that there is no requirement of label related to motors. Only IE code is mandatory plus efficiency value (IEC 60034-30). Other contraint Manufacturing year must be plated. Marking All products placed on the EEC market must be CE marked. To be CE, the product must comply with all European related directives. For electrical motors the directives are: - 2009/125/EC (and regulation 640/2009) - 2006/95/EC LS products to propose IMfinity IE3 and IE2 standard motors comply with first phase of regulations and guidelines above. This IFT motors generation includes ranges LSES, FLSES, PLSES and LSMV IE2. 3. USA & CANADA Regulation This EISA regulation «Energy Independence and Security Act» is U.S. law, signed December 19, 2007. This regulation replaces and cancels the previous one, EPAct (Energy Policy Act), and also expands its scope to motors not affected previously. The level of performance increases from "High Efficiency" -equivalent to IE2 60Hz- to "Premium Efficiency" -equivalent to 60 Hz IE3. Rules are defined in the "CFR" (Code of Federal Regulation), reference 10 CFR Part 431.31 For Canada, regulation is "Energy Efficiency Act SC 1992, ch.36. The same rules apply as EISA. USA : regulation applies to motors placed on the market from December 19, 2010. CANADA : regulation applies to motors placed on the market from April 12, 2012 and those in stock since January 1, 2011. Does not apply to motors in stock before 01/01/2011. 4

Concerned products Regulation is applied to general purpose motors. All motors from subtype 1, 1 to 200 HP previously covered by EPAct (High Efficiency), should now comply with Premium Efficiency performances as defined in Table 12-12 of NEMA MG 1. Only motors with voltage 230V or 460V 60Hz and 575V 60Hz for Canada must meet the Premium performance. All motors from subtype 2 that were not covered by EPAct regulation must be now comply with high efficiency performance as defined in NEMA MG 1Table 12-11 of. This particularly concerns the following motors: o U-frame o Design C o Close coupled pump motors o Round body (footless) o Vertical solid shaft normal trust motors o 8 pole o Polyphase motor less than 600V (other 230V or 460V) o Fire pumps motors 1 to 200 HP o Motors from 201 to 500 HP that were not previously covered by EPAct IMPORTANT: EISA regulation concerns all motors such as ATEX, TEFV or ODP motors, all mounting system, all IEC or NEMA base. Non concerned products o Fractional power < 1HP o NEMA base < 143T (90 for IEC) o Design D (high slip) o Adjustable with optimized windings (can not be line started as Design A or B) o Special or adapted motors who can t be used as general purpose motors (definite & special purpose motors) o Non-continuos duty o Geared or brake motors o Submersible motors o Single phase motors o Multi speed motors o DC motors o TENV and TEAO enclosures (IC410 and 418 of IEC) Variable speed used motors Different cases : o Motors specially designed for variable speed as can be, for example, defined in IEC 60034-25 (over-insulation, insulated bearings,...) : this is typical "inverter duty" motor, therefore not covered by EISA. No constraint of minimum performance required. 5

o Standard "general purpose" motors, 460V 60Hz, fixed speed, who can also be used in variable speed. Inside EISA scope, therefore IE3 PREMIUM with exceptions specified in the regulations (round housing, design C,...). o LSMV special case: this motor is only for variable speed use. As this motor is dedicated for variable speed not covered by EISA, there is no constraint of efficiency level. Motor name-plate and labelling EISA regulation imposes additional obligations, not linked to NEMA, on the motor name-plate : o «CC» number (compliance certification). LEROY-SOMER file number is : CC055B o Product year o Efficiency at load 4/4 with : «Nominal Efficiency xx.x%» or «Nom. Eff. xx.x%» or «NEMA Nom. Eff. xx.x%» o label is commercial and not include inside CFR. However, CFR propose to use label. Using this label, which is optional, means that the product complies with the regulation. Other plated information Canada and USA : CSA label link with letters C and US means product is certified for Americans and Canadian markets, following American and Canadian relevant standards. If a product has features from more than one kind of products (e.g. electrical equipment including a combustion fuel), the mark indicates compliance with all relevant standards. This label concerns only finished products as may be complete machines. A motor is only one component and is therefore not affected by this labelling. REMARK: c CSA us and c UL us have same meaning but one is made by CSA and other by UL. Label c UR us is optional and indicates compliance with Canadian and United States requirements. UL encourage manufacturers distributing products with UL Recognized Mark for both countries to use combined marking. For Canada, minimum requirement is c UR us or c CSA us. Both are also possible. Components covered by UL Recognized Mark program are dedicated to installation in another device, system or final product. It will be installed in the factory, not on the field, 6

and its performances capabilities might be limited and limit its use. When a product or complete system containing UL Recognized Component is evaluated, the evaluation process of the final product can be rationalized. LEROY-SOMER choice is : c CSA us + c UR us. Canada: label of compliance with energy efficiency (optional) Other constraint USA: label of compliance with energy efficiency (optional) Country of origin must be indicated on the motor. From June 1, 2016 new motors affected by regulations : o 2, 4, 6 & 8 pole o 1-500 HP (0.75 to 375 kw) o Design or C (N or H CIS) o Frame size mini 3 digit frame 56 + version IP55 o Design A 200 to 500 HP o with heating resistors o with winding sealed (resin?) o Fully integrated in a machine with common parts (motor for gearbox) o TENV (unventilated IC410) o immersible o brake motors o with forced ventilation These motors will have efficiencies in line with appended table based Design (A, B or C) Are still outside scope of the following engines: o Non-vented to the air flow o Cooled water o Submersibles o specific variable speed motors Note that the DOE recognizes that specific motors for inverters, those with permanent magnets, those switch-reluctance motors that are already helping to save energy and as for now there is no rule or standard for testing, are outside the scope of regulation at this time. Note: to be able to sale a motor inside the scope of the regulation in the USA and / or Canada, it must be registered with the Department of Energy. 7

INDIA A new standard has been voted in 2011. It is IS12615. It is exactly the same definition as CEI 60034-30 Ed.1. Only two additional parameters: torque and starting current and maximum current and minimum speed at full load. Although it is possible that Indian authorities impose efficiency level in 2014, to date, there is only one recommendation: - From 2011 IE2 efficiency - From 2014 IE3 efficiency CAUTION: choice of IE2 or IE3 motors is only voluntary. 13

10. JAPAN The name of the Japanese regulation is TOP Runner. From 1 April 2015, all motors placed on the market must be IE3 class efficiency. The motors are those of the scope of JIS C 4034-30 standard (which is equivalent to the CEI60034-30) Concerned motors : o Frequency 50Hz, 60Hz and 50/60 Hz o singlespeed o voltage up to 1000V o nominal power 0.75kW to 375kW o polarity: 2P, 4P & 6P o S1 or S3 o capable of operating directly on network Notes: Non concerned motors: o Motors completely integrated in a machine and which cannot be tested separately o Motors designed for the variable speed that cannot operate on the network. o Motors with special insulation class (H, N, R and 250 C) o Special motors for textile machinery requiring a very high starting torque o Marine motors o Motors totally immersed in liquid o Motors with strong slip o Motors for water gates o Motors caned o Motors specially designed to operate at temperatures <20 C o Motors with forced ventilation For the same magnetic circuit, a motor wound H class supply less power than F class insulation as take up more space in the slots and less place for copper. There is generally a gap of one size between a motor insulated F class and a motor insulated H class. There are several frequencies and voltages depending of the geographic position. Usually, voltages are as follows 200V-50Hz / 60Hz-200V / 220V-60Hz for small and medium power (usually 30kW but it is up to 75kW). For high power, it is more generally requested 400V-50Hz / 60Hz 400V / 440V-60Hz. In fact, votltages/ frequencies 200V-220V 50Hz and 60Hz, are still required by the market. Non-presence of the 200V-60Hz line is generally accepted by the market, it is accommodating the two lines-50hz 200V / 220V-60Hz even though the actual usage is 200V-60Hz. If a motor is plated with two voltages/frequencies 200V-50Hz and 220V-60Hz, it will have IE3 efficiency at 200V-50Hz and at 220V-60Hz. 14

If a motor is plated with three voltages/frequencies 200V 50Hz / 200V 60Hz / 220V 60Hz, it should have IE3 efficiency at 200V-50Hz and 220V-60Hz. At 200V-60Hz, an "intermediate" efficiency is defined in the attached table. This table is valid for voltages 400V-50Hz / 60Hz 400V / 440V-60Hz. Motors labelling: There is no requirement to label product. However, regulation request a special nbameplate. The Japanese Association of engine manufacturers created a label that is optional. TOP Runner motor LS product to propose: IMfinity motors IE3 LSES, FLSES et PLSES, 2-4 et 6 pole. Careful, following all voltages frequencies combinations, it is necessary to use a motor with a suitable winding. 11. ISRAËL Efficiency regulation is SI 5289. Since 2008, it is mandatory to supply the market only with IE2 motors. It s expected to move to IE3 in 2015. Concerned motors: those of IEC60034-30 but for powers 0.75 to 185 kw plus 8 pole (out of the standard today). 15

12. TAIWAN Similar to European regulation. IE2 efficiency class mandatory from 1 January 2015 and IE3 from 1 July 2016. Concerned motors : 2, 4 and 6 pole from 0.75 to 200kW Note: the local voltage is usually 380V-60Hz, therefore it is necessary to propose IMfinity motors specially wound. 13. SAUDIA ARABIA The SAUDI ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM (SEEP) is as follow : All motors which will enter in Kingdom Saudi Arabia should achieve efficiency class: - IE2 from 07/01/2015 - IE3 as of 01/01/2017 It is mandatory to register its production to export its to Saudi Arabia. Efficiency class (SASO IEC 60034-30 ) : The standard applies to the following only: o Single speed, three phase, 60Hz, cage induction stand-alone motors that: o Have a rated voltage up to 1000V (applies also to motors rated for two or more voltages and/or frequencies) o Have a rated output power between 0.75kW and 375 kw o Have either 2, 4 or 6 poles o Are rated on the basis of either duty type S1(continuous duty) or S3 (intermittent periodic duty) with a rated cyclic duration factor of 80% or higher o Are capable of operating direct on-line o Are rated for operating conditions in accordance with IEC 60034-1 clause 6 (Motors with flanges, feet and/or shafts with mechanical dimensions different from IEC 60072-1 are covered) Excluding the following types: o Motors made solely for converter operation in accordance with IEC 60034-25 o Motors completely integrated into a machine (for example pump, fan and compressor) that cannot be tested separately from the machine o Brake motors, gear motors and wound rotor motors o Torque motors (corresponding to IEC design H, e.g. gate motor & crane motor) o Motors specifically designed to operate: in maximum operating temperatures above 400 C In potentially explosive atmospheres (e.g. explosion proof motors) 16
