PRESIDENT: JOHN GALVIN (253) 370-5899 galv5451@comcast.net Dear Members, This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Chevelle & El Camino. The flyer, which has two 1969 cars on it, was recently made available at the Winter Party. At the Winter Party we nominated club officers and will take any other nominations at the February club meeting. We will then take a final vote for club officers and then proceed with the 2019 agenda. The February club meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 am. I want to thank all those who came out and made the Winter party a success. I also want to thank Griots again for allowing our club to use their facility. Please make an effort to attend the next meeting. Without your participation, there is no club. So remember, our February meeting is on the 16th, at Dennys in Puyallup, at 10:00 am. Club News Canadian Classic Chevelles and Beaumonts News: I received some sad news from our sister club The Canadian Classic Chevelles & Beaumonts Club. Their long time president Don Earnshaw was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and was forced to resign. Don and his wife Bev have been involved with the club since 1997. I only met Don once back in 2012. Nina and I were on a cruise that stopped in Victoria for the day. Their club news magazine editor Rick Pawlas and his wife Donna met us at the pier and took us to lunch where we met up with Don. In just that one brief meeting we knew Don was the kind of guy you wanted to call a friend. Please keep Don and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Following is the correspondence I received from their club. At a special meeting of the Canadian Classic Chevelles and Beaumonts on Jan. 27, 2019 a quorum of club members voted to dissolve the formal club registered under the BC Societies Act. President Don Earnshaw is facing a severe health issue and Secretary Treasurer Bev Earnshaw is occupied full time in supporting him and managing family matters. No one was nominated at the special club meeting to fill their positions. Our thoughts go out to the Earnshaw family. Our thanks go to Don and Bev for their tireless support of the CCCB club and members since 1997/1998. The Jan-Feb 2019 magazine marks the final issue of the CCCB newsletter. The web site at https:// cdnclassicchevellesbeaumonts.wordpress.com/ will continue. This year s Ernie s Calendar will be completed and available on the web site. Don is an administrator of the CCCB Facebook group. We will depend on administrators Mark Stubbington, Doug Mayorchak and Dave Weir to carry on their support in encouraging communication within our community

Yesterdays 2019 Annual Winter Party Our annual party was held on January 19th at Griot s Garage. There were 30 club members and family in attendance which is about average. We arrived a couple of minutes before 12:00 and there were already several folks there. John passed out a raffle ticket to each person and Kathy sold 50-50 tickets. Everyone socialized for the next 20 or so minutes then John rang the dinner bell. It didn't take long for everyone to line up for the wonderful assortment of food we had. Hot food included a boat load of really tasty baked chicken, 3 different kinds of pizza, spaghetti, home made mac and cheese, beef stew, and tamales. We also had several different types of salads and fruit, and for dessert there were cream puffs, chocolate truffles, apple pie, cheesecake along with cookies and candy. It was a feast!!!

Yesterdays 2019 Annual Winter Party After everyone had time to finish up eating, John called the meeting to order and we nominated your 2019 club officers and accepted volunteers for the volunteer positions, all of which were filled!

Yesterdays 2019 Annual Winter Party After the elections were complete, John and Dennis handed out Club appreciation awards. These awards went out to Pat & Michelle Coffey (also members of our sister club, The Chevelle & El Camino Club of Oregon), Dale Hodson, and both Mike & Audrey Ahrens each received an award. Next it was time for the raffle. Again, John & Dennis conducted the giveaways. We had some pretty cool stuff including a candy basket, gift cards, Seahawks items and some Griot s products. The last order of business was the 50-50 drawing which I recall as being $35. Steve Packer s better half Christina won that one. After the party Nina and I and a few others did a little shopping at the Griot s store and picked up some of their car care products. The party was a great success, everyone had a really good time, no one left hungry and it was just a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon with friends and other car enthusiasts.
