PowaKaddy and Hilly Billy have both run successful promotions over the summer which has seen an increase in the number of electric trolleys on the golf course. This bulletin is produced for you so please read it and then distribute to all your PowaKaddy repair staff. There is information which will benefit and aid you. If you would like this bulletin sent to any other member of staff then please pass on their e-mail address. H I L L B I L L Y T E R R A I N Our sister company Hill Billy have launched a NEW machine called the Terrain. The Terrain has a lightweight but solid construction. It has a powerful and responsive 200 Watt Motor. A universal handle with soft touch grip with a pre-set timer function. For those agents who have ordered the Terrain Set up Kit this should be with you now, for those agents who have not ordered this kit you should consider adding it to your stock. To help identify parts I have attached the full Terrain exploded diagrams. When ordering parts for the Terrain, please call the PowaKaddy sales line on 01795 473555 with your part numbers. The parts will then be invoiced to your PK account. Any Terrain that is over 14 days old will be referred to you for repair. When repairing any Terrain under warranty, you will need to treat this exactly the same as you would any other PK product. Please complete the warranty claim form ensuring that all sections are filled out.

B A T T E R Y T E S T I N G We don t like rejecting battery claims, and we are aware of the difficulties this causes to all concerned.. In some cases this has lead to Service Agents not replacing batteries to customers straight away and waiting for our testing before passing on the replacement to the customer, obviously this is not acceptable. To ensure that the procedure is fair to all parties including the customer and yourselves we will operate as follows: 1. You must always have replacement batteries in stock 2. Check that battery is In Warranty 3. Carry out the OCV and Run Time tests 4. Replace the customer s battery immediately if in warranty and tested faulty 5. Complete the claim form 6. We will replace or credit the battery if within warranty and you have properly carried out the required tests 7. If you have not carried out the necessary tests we will not pay the Labour Charge 7.50 and Admin fee 0.75, but we will still replace or credit the battery if in warranty If we find that you are regularly out of stock, or your tests are regularly incomplete or incorrect then we will discuss any training requirements and advise you of the standards required to maintain your status as an authorised Service Agent. I have attached again our recommended procedure for battery testing, the main advice though remains, if in doubt ask, we don t want to reject your labour claim so don t give us cause to do so! R E T U R N S T O P O W A K A D D Y When returning batteries to us under warranty, can you please ensure that the battery is sufficiently packed to avoid transit damage. If batteries arrive here in such a state without due consideration to transit damage we will reject them. We do understand that a battery can get damaged in transit even if packed well but a complete disregard to this request will mean rejections.

H I L L B I L L Y R E P A I R S The new Hill Billy Terrain can be repaired in warranty and out of warranty with the parts being ordered through your PowaKaddy account. These parts will be sold to you at trade. Spare parts for older Hill Billy machines may be purchased direct from Hill Billy. The spare parts will be sold at the RRP. Hill Billy s number is 01795 413830. Although you are able to purchase parts for older machines we are not authorising you to do any warranty work on any of the following machines:- All Terrain, Compact, Hi Lite and Compact Plus. The Hill Billy call centre are advising customers that some service agents will repair their older trolley s but to phone the service centre before hand rather than just turning up with a broken trolley T E R R A I N P A R T S P R I C E L I S T I have had phone calls from Service Centres asking for a RRP parts price list for the Hill Billy Terrain. In the Service Centre contract that was sent out in April there was a suggested Terrain Parts Order List, on this list there was the vital part numbers, descriptions, trade price and suggest RRP. I realise that those who ordered this set up kit would have signed this form and returned it so you will have no record of cost. I have now produced a Terrain Price List and have attached it to this bulletin. P K 3 0 2 3 A S S P K 9 9 8 C S & P K 9 9 9 C S When ordering the PK3023ASS you may have noticed that we no longer include the PK3012 starlock washer. This is because on new machines we produce there is no requirement for it and there is no need to use it when fitting on to older machines. Winter is coming, don t forget to order your winter accessories! Please note that all new orders for PK998C, PK999C, PK998CBLACK and PK999CBLACK will be delivered to you without the R Clip. If you require the R clip then please order this, the part number is PK205F

O U T O F W A R R A N T Y R E P A I R S As per the Service Centre Contract, which you all have signed and returned ALL PowaKaddy agents will not charge end users more than the recommended retail price for any part used in repairing any product. This RRP has been published on our website and all agents should have a copy. It is important when billing customers you itemise the bill to show parts cost, labour cost and mileage cost. H I L L B I L L Y T E R R A I N R E P A I R S The Hill Billy Terrain has been out in the field since April. Most PowaKaddy Service Centres would have by now have had one of these in for repair and hopefully be pretty confident in diagnosing and repairing faults I have seen some reports of Terrains collapsing at the central joint, there is an easy fix and I have attached a PDF sheet on how to apply this fix. When changing the motor and gearbox it is important to remember that there is a ball bearing located opposite the grub screw. After replacing the motor and gearbox do not forget to put the ball bearing back in. If this is not done then the trolley will have no drive. I am in the process of producing some repair sheets which will be e-mailed to you all in due course. These machines are distinguished by a different serial number. T R O L L E Y M A N U F A C T U R I N G D A T E S Please find attached the latest manufacturing serial numbers. Please note that this does not include the new Hill Billy Terrain.

T E R R A I N M O T O R & G E A R B O X When changing a Motor or Gearbox on the Hill Billy Terrain you will need to change both items. The part number is TMG01. This is sold to you for 44.53 + Vat and has a RRP of 80.50 inc Vat. Please be aware that if you just return the motor or the gearbox to us then we will reject your claim, we require both items. C H A R G E R T E S T I N G I have been receiving an increase in the number of e-mails/calls from Service Agents who would like to ask advice on the results they have from charger testing, I thought it would be appropriate if I included a section on charger testing in this bulletin. Above is a test on a brand new charger that was taken from stock, the battery used was also brand new. The blue line is the voltage of the battery while charging, as you can see it takes a few hours to reach the desired 14.2-14.7 volts, once it is at this voltage then it stays constant for 6.5 hours then drops to 13.7 which is the float voltage. This is an example of a perfectly good charger. NB - This test must be performed on a discharged battery

3 6 H O L E B A T T E R Y S U P P L I E R We have changed the supplier of our 36 hole battery. We were using Yuasa but have changed to BB. The part number of these batteries are PK383BB. These batteries are rated at 12 volt and 33 Amp. The run time test of this battery remains at 60 minutes. S P E C I A L O F F E R We have a few Wide Wheels in stock and are offering these to all Service Centres at an amazing price!! They are available in tubes of 10 at 60 + Vat. This works out at an incredible 6 + Vat per wheel a massive saving of 50% per wheel on the trade price. These wheels will fit on any trolley that has a clutch. It is ideal to fit these wheels on to our Compact model, this will make them about as wide as the All Terrain for stability. Please note that you purchase them in tubes of 10 to get the price. As an alternative, we can sell these in pairs and they will be priced at 15 per pair. R O B O K A D D Y W I R I N G It seems that the RoboKaddy wiring diagram issued by us to you is wrong. I have attached the correct wiring diagram to this bulletin so please discard any previous diagrams you have had from us. C R E D I T S We have reviewed our warranty replacement procedure, as a result we are now changing back to credits. Please read the letter attached for further details.
