International Studies Major Revised: Fall 2017 Checksheet Bachelor of Arts Degree UID: Student Name: Date: The International Studies major is designed to offer students the opportunity to undertake serious study in international politics, culture and society. The major combines intensive study of a foreign language with an interdisciplinary curriculum of study chosen by the student in consultation with a faculty advisor. The specialized tracks include: A. International Diplomacy and Peace Studies B. Area Studies C. Comparative Cultures D. International Economic Affairs E. Global Gender Studies F. Research/Intelligence Analyst Students are encouraged to consider spending an optional term or year of university study abroad in their chosen language. This major provides students with a degree relevant to careers in government, international law, business, and organizations, teaching, or related fields. I.
