To convert from one-way pull to center open, the key is to pinpoint where to attach the second master carrier. Please follow the instruction step by step. First, we have to dismantle the Track partially as follow: Take off the 2 screws on the Carrier and remove the E-spacer Loose only a couple rounds of the screw. Pull the Drive Unit off the Track. Remove Eyelets. Loose only a couple rounds of the screw. Pull the Idler off the Track. While the belt still stays inside the track, from the Idler end, use the slot screwdriver to unlock the Clamps attached on BOTH ends of the belt. Then you could pull to remove the Idler off the Belt. To prevent confusion, we now define the track side facing you as S side, the opposite as N side. Now from the Idler side, attach the Clamp & Fixture to the S side belt end. This step is just for temporary measure purpose. You don t need to lock the Clamp yet as it will be taken away next step. Align the Drive Unit just touches the track end, but do NOT insert the track into the Drive Unit for now. Do not insert the Track to the Drive Unit, just touching each other. 2
6 teeth Also next to the Idler, by pulling out the N side belt inside the track with a slot screwdriver, match the Fixture end and the S side track end even. Align the Belt with the Track edge In the mean time, while aligning the Belt with the Track edge, go to the Drive Unit : While meticulously keep the belt still to the Drive Unit, mark the gap line between the Drive Unit and the track end. 12 teeth Then pull out the belt, count 12 teeth to the left & mark the teeth as shown on the picture. Now turn to Idler side, remove the Clamp & Fixture attached to S side belt end. Then attach & lock the Clamp onto the N side belt. Put on the Fixture. Move it inside the Track. 3
Back to the Drive Unit: From the drive unit side, on the 13th teeth mark, lock two Clamps (keep one tooth in between) & attach the Carrier onto the clamps. (Note: the picture shows the Fixtures which should be the Carrier) Attach the Carrier instead of the Fixtures. 12 teeth Keep one tooth in between Carrier The Carrier should be here already Lay half quantity of total Eyelets into the track channel. Push the track into the Drive Unit. (To avoid the belt might get jammed inside the Drive Unit as it often happens, hand move the Carrier forward or backward while inserting the Drive Unit) Secure the screw on the S168 Drive Unit by tightening the screw. 4
Now turn to Idler side --- guide the S side belt end through the idler to N side. Lock the 2nd clamp, put on the fixture & guide this end into the track channel as shown in the next picture. Guide the 2nd fixture into the Track to meet with the 1st fixture. Lay the remaining half quantity of total eyelets into the track channel. Push the track into the idler. You will see the two fixtures merge. Insert the E-Spacer, then Pull the Idler slightly outward to straighten the Belt inside. *Very Important* Secure the stopper by tightening the screw. Assemble the handle. One complete master carrier will be made. Hand move either one Carrier back and forth the whole Track to make sure it travels the whole track smoothly. 5
Please note: the handles of the 2 Master Carriers are assembled in different directions in order to make the curtains overlap. Hand move either one Carrier back and forth the whole Track to make sure it travels the whole track before mounting it. 6
