Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that the U.S. imported a total of,593,000 net tons (NT) of steel in June, including,098,000 NT of finished steel (down 5 and 3% each, respectively, from May final data). Year-to-date (YTD) finished imports are up % vs. the same period in 0. Annualized total and finished steel imports in 0 would be 34.8 and 7.0 million NT, respectively, up and 4%, each, respectively vs. 0. Finished steel import market share in June was 3% and is 4% YTD. A key finished steel product with a significant import increase in June 0 compared to May is tin plate (up 0%).
