With Leds in particular, the current values that pass through the light source must remain constant and if necessary measurements are not taken to keep these parameters constant, the LED will tend to absorb higher currents resulting overheating triggering a vicious mortal cycle of the semiconductor. Because of this physical-electric phenomenon the systems with LED technology need very sophisticated control devices compared to the traditional sources. The current control can be integrated into the power supply or can be placed between the power supply and the LED system.
