B. Product Specification for C-VIP Frames 1.0 Frame Configuration - Multi-throw, balanced-opposed rigid alloy-iron frame ribbed and reinforced with integrally cast crosshead extensions. Closed frame top construction. Gasketed doors in top and sides permit limited access to running gear. Lower part of frame forms sump for lubricating oil. Flat bottom mounting surface with leveling screws. 3.0 Connecting Rod Configuration - Semi-marine type, 2 piece construction, I-beam sections, drilled passages for pressurized oil lubrication to crosshead and crosshead guide. 4 bolt configuration. 4.0 Crosshead and Connecting Rod Pin - Standard crosshead is nodular iron with babbitted running surfaces. I-beam designed drilled to provide pressure lubrication to the crosshead running surfaces. The connecting rod pin is hardened steel with machined oil passages to provide pressure lubrication into the crosshead. Where required, aluminum and/or heavy crossheads made of nodular iron with babbitted running surfaces may be provided for balancing requirements. Disc type jam nuts and heavy connecting rod pins may also be provided to balance opposing throws to within 1 pound maximum. 5.0 Distance Piece - Frame is close coupled with cylinder. No distance piece. Similar to API Type I. Options - Single compartment 13" distance piece with bolt-on steel covers. Top vent, bottom drain connections. Similar to API Type II. Also available with purged packing and purged wiper case. 6.0 Bearings and Bushings - 6.1 Frame Main and Thrust - Spherical type roller bearing L10 rating - 54,000 hours, 6 years. 6.2 Connecting Rod - Crankpin Bearing - Split, precision, tri-metal, replaceable shells. Connecting Rod Bushing - Aluminum alloy, interference fit. 7.0 Frame Lubrication 7.1 Main Pump Drive - Positive displacement, externally mounted, gear type pump. Directly driven off crankshaft. Cast iron case. Cast in header distribution. 7.2 Oil Piping - Carbon steel, seamless or welded schedule 40 pipe with threaded or non-threaded unions or carbon steel seamless tubing. Option: Stainless steel piping upstream of standard filter. 7.3 Oil Filter 25 micron, full-flow oil filter with cartridge-type replaceable elements. Option: Dual Frame Oil Filter With Transfer Valve (Frame Mounted). 7.4 Oil Cooler - Fixed bundle shell and tube watercooled oil cooler. Steel shell (housing), carbon steel tube sheets welded to shell, single pass design with cast iron bonnets, seamless admiralty tubes, 25 BWG. Oil in shell. Option: Tema C Page 2 of 7

7.5 Prelube Pump (Option) - Hand operated, frame mounted, positive displacement pump. 7.6 Frame Oil Heater (Option) - Immersion oil heaters available for all frame sizes. Circulation type heaters are recommended for 4 throw frames (packager supplied). 440/480 volt, 3 phase is standard. 8.0 Crankshaft Seal Assembly - Prevents oil leakage from frame, non-pressure containing design single lip, solid type seal. 9.0 Oil Wiper Packing Case - Furnished with optional distance piece. Prevents oil leakage from frame. Bolted to distance piece. Contains bronze oil wiper rings and Teflon seal rings. 10.0 Tool Kit - Consisting of valve removal and disassembly tools one set per location. 11.0 Paint - All castings are shot blast, chipped and cleaned. Internal surfaces of the frame, frame extensions and distance pieces are painted with an oil-poof white primer. All external surfaces are painted with a red oxide primer. 12.0 Preservation for Shipment - Lubricated Cylinder Applications - For domestic (North America) applications, all internal components within the cylinder and frame are coated with a rust preventative light oil. For overseas shipment or extended storage (6+ months) the compressor frame and cylinder internals are coated with a heavy oil. Critical components within the cylinder such as piston and rods and valves (less inlet valves) are removed and boxed separately for better preservation. It is recommended that most of the heavy preservative be removed prior to start-up. Special Note: If the compressor is a domestic shipment, but the package is export and the packager will be run testing the package in house, it is then up to the packager to insure overseas preservation measures are taken on the compressor prior to overseas shipment. Non-Lube Cylinder Applications - For domestic (North America) applications, aluminum paint is used in the cylinder gas passageway and heads as a corrosion preventative. On export shipments or extended storage, the gas passages and heads will be sprayed with a mineral rust preventative after the aluminum paint is applied. Pressure, partition packing and oil wiper rings are removed and placed into a greaseproof, waterproof, flexible barrier material followed by an outerwrap. Export or extended storage also require the piston and rod assembly to be removed for shipment. Piston and rider rings are to be removed and packed like the packing rings mentioned earlier. Piston and rod are sprayed with a fingerprint neutralizer, then the piston, rod and jamnut are spayed with a rust preventative and finally wrapped like the packing rings mentioned above. Page 3 of 7

13.0 Quality Assurance - All major components are visually and dimensionally inspected and their material content reviewed for compliance. Procedures are per D-R Standard manufacturing specifications (See GFP28). Any records generated as a result are maintained at the factory. Compressor - Frame - Crankshaft - Connecting Rod - Crossheads - Crosshead Pins - Distance Pieces - Running clearances and balancing checked and verified. Bar-over and rod run out. 1 hour no-load mechanical run test. Documentation provided: QAF-262 (assembly and test record). Chemical, physical, magnetic particle and ultra-sonic. Chemical, physical and magnetic particle. NOTE: Additional dollars are required for the following (see pricing pages): QA/QC requirements outside the standard plan.
