Thanks to Alabama Power of Southern Power Co. for hosting the meeting. The attendance was very good. There were about 44 in the room and about 6 people on the WebEx. The roll call is shown below. The meeting started about 1:00 pm. The agenda was presented. It is shown at the end of these minutes. The meeting started off with safety protocol from security at Barber. Bill Jones from Alabama Power of Southern Company gave a short welcome to the group. After introductions, Mark Kosowski gave a general update for the group. 1- Overview Bus Meeting March 2017 Next Rodney McGee presented a status of the SAE J-3068 3 Phase AC Charging document. 3- SAE J2954-2 Heavy Duty EPRI Truc John Halliwell proceeded with a set of slides for an update for the J-1772 program. The new program will be extending the voltage limits from 500 V to 1000 V and from 200 A to 350 A providing a maximum 350 kw charge. See the J1772 slides. 4- Halliwell_J1772 Update_IWC_03-27-2 Paul Stith from Black and Veatch presented the next slide deck about Scaling the Transit Infrastructure. 5- BV Scaling Transit Infrastructure George Bellino presented a presentation on the Charging protocols. 6- VGI-standards-comp Mark Kosowski presented for Lu Chun the lead of the Bus Battery Committee SAE J-3125. See the slide deck below for more information. 7-TEVVBC 22 Bus Battery Systems Com Mark presented an update for the SAE J-3105 Overhead Charging Document. The committee is making good progress towards a standard overhead charging system. The team members are all cooperating effectively. The team meets twice per month. The team met face to face in Palo Alto California at EPRI on November 16 and 17. 8- J3105 Update Bus Meeting March Discussion in general occurred during each of these presentations. Page 2 5
Next Meeting The next meeting will be held on June 6, 2017 in Washington DC hosted by PEPCO. The meeting will have updates on the SAE work including the new Bus Battery Committee and general discussion will proceed. An Agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting.
