0459EN October 03 Safety pressure switch with manual reset Installation The lockout pressure switch must be installed by qualified personnel. The pressure switch K374Y00 can be assembled either vertically or horizontally by screwing it onto a pipe or a /4 Gc male threaded coupling after preparing the latter with a plug + paste mastic, teflon tape, or anaerobic seal; when properly applied, these materials ensure the seal on the coupling between the /4 Gj female connection of the pressure switch and the /4 Gc male part. K374Y00 Description Safety pressure switch with manual reset, for stopping the heat flow from the heat generator when the predefined maximum system pressure threshold (lockout pressure) is reached. The device is and complies with PED directive 97/3/EC. Allowed installation Setting The lockout pressure value is factory-set at 3 bar. This value can be modified with the aid of a tool, intervening on the regulation nut on the upper part of the casing; read the value on the graduated scale on the side. Triggering The device is triggered when the pressure level reaches the set lockout value; the opening of the contacts causes the heat generator to stop. Reset The system can only be reactivated by pressing the reset button on the lower part of the casing. This must be done when the pressure falls 0,4 bar lower than the set value. The pressure switch must be fixed in place using an open-end spanner no.9 (recommended tightening moment: 35 Nm). If the theoretical short-circuit current is greater than the maximum nominal capacity of the electric contacts, it is compulsory to use a current protection device upstream from the pressure switch, with an intervention value equal to - or less than - 8 A. Electric connection The pressure switch K374Y00 has two NC electric contacts isolated from each other. When the system is subjected to a normal pressure level, the contacts remain closed. When the maximum set lockout pressure value is reached, both contacts are opened. Both contacts will be opened when the set minimum pressure of block will be reached. Restoration In order to reactivate the system, press the reset pushbutton, positioned on the higher part of the pressure switch when the pressure is risen 0.5 bar over the block value. The fastening of the pressure switch shall be made with a fixed key no.9 (recommended torque setting: 35 Nm). Where the theoretic short circuit voltage is higher than the maximum nominal capacity of the electrical contacts, upstream of the pressure switch the use of a protection with intervention values lower than or equal to 8A is compulsory.
