REPAIR INSTRUCTION Vanes are main wear parts and are recommended to be replaced in due time. They are considered to be worn when the width is less than 7.2 mm Vane 5 6057 1050 8 mm Installation <7,2 mm => replace Disassembly and re-assembly Disassembly and re-assembly should be done only according to the sectional drawing: Never apply force when disassembling the machine. All parts are co-ordinated, so that they can be disassembled by slight pushing on a wooden support or by hitting with a plastic hammer. Use open-end wrenches WS 38 and 36 for releasing the valve and the output. Motor Unscrew the valve completely (WS 38) and push the motor housing item 1 with the open side on a wooden support several times. Thus Motor parts, like end plates, vanes, cylinder bushings, rotor, grooved ball bearings, etc. can be removed completely from the motor housing for further disassembly and check. Mind the spacer rings item 9 and item 17. Output Clamp the motor housing item 1 in a device (soft jaws) and unscrew the drive housing completely (WS 36). Remove snap ring item 65 and pull out the grinding shaft item 62 with ball bearing item 63. Take out feather keys item 68 and pull coupling item 67 from the grinding shaft. Remove snap ring item 64 to slide the ball bearing item 63 from the grinding shaft. Valve After loosening the connecting piece item 33, the screen in the connecting piece can be easily cleaned. Furthermore the pressure spring item 32 and the ball item 31 can be removed. After removing the rivet pin item 42 the valve latch item 41 can be removed as well. Afterwards the pin with o-ring item 34 and 35 can be pulled out. Compiled: 18.07.11 150770010_0020_0050_Inst_en_Version_00 Page 2 of 12
Re-assembly Basically the re-assembly is done in the reverse order than the disassembly. Regarding the motor, pay attention to the following: - the correct installation of the Belleville spring washers (fig. 3). - the proper threading of the rotor pivot in the plastic coupling - the correct space adjustment (fig. 4) The end play between rotor item 12 and end plates item 6 an 14 should be approx. 0.04 mm each. Pay attention to the correct position of the chamfer, when installing the spacer rings item 9 and 17. The chamfer has to point to the rotor centre. Bild Fig. 3: 3 Fig. Bild 4 4: chamfer Tellerfedereinbau Installation of Belleville spring Längsspiel End play/ space / Distanzierung adjustment If the grooved ball bearings in the end plates item 7 and 15 have been replaced, the spacing has to be done again. For this, new spacer rings item 9 and 17 are required, which have to be adjusted to the appropriate measure. - Space Adjustment Install the new grooved ball bearing in the end plate and lock it. Put the spacing ring on the inner bearing ring and press the bearing free of clearance in the direction of the snap ring. Measure the protruding part of the spacing ring and adjust the correct dimension by grinding or fine machining (turning). If there is no possibility to the space adjustment by your own, new complete end plates (5 6057 1940 item 6-9 5 6057 1930 item 14-17), space adjustment premade, can be used. Clean the rotor slots from oil and resin residues before installing the vanes item 13. The new vanes should fall easily into the slots. Grease the ball bearings again. After assembly, the rotor must be easy to turn by hand. If the rotor item 12 is rough running or cannot be turned by hand at all, light hitting with a rubber hammer in lateral and/ or axial direction to the motor housing brings the rotor into a freewheel position. Afterwards, make a functional check of the complete angle grinder: Valve start and stop, tightness Air consumption (see technical specification in the operation manual). Free speed (see technical specification in the operation manual).* Grinding test (traction of the motor) Spare Parts Only genuine spare parts may be used. There is no warranty for damages and liability is disclaimed, if non-original spare parts and accessories are used. Compiled: 18.07.11 150770010_0020_0050_Inst_en_Version_00 Page 4 of 12
