Now Candidate A/B: 1. What kind of transport do you usually use? 2. What's the most common means of transport in your hometown? 3. Which one do you like the best, train, plane or ship? 4. Do you often use public transportation? 5. What do you think of the transport conditions in your hometown? 答案 [30 seconds]:30x2.5=75 5.Well, honestly speaking, great transport conditions are great in my hometown although it s a small city. My hometown, Hanzhong, mainly relies on public buses and taxis. It s not a big burden cause there are not so many people and cars. Bicycles are an economy choice for a very number of people, especially, students and it s environmentally friendly as well. Even when it comes to traffic jam sometimes, it won t bother you too long. Part 2 考官录 :Now let s move on to something more specific. The topic that we will discuss today is the Public Transport. Each of you will see a card with instructions for your presentation. You will have one minute to prepare and each of you will have one and a half minute to give your presentation. Now look at your card. Card A: The importance of Public Transport Card B: Problems in Public Transport 分钟准备时间 Now Candidate A, please begin. 学 A 回答 [90 seconds]:
Public transport is important in our life. Firstly, public transport is more environmentally friendly than private cars. Buses and the underground have low carbon emissions per person, which can help cope with global warming. Secondly, public transport can reduce traffic jams. Many Chinese cities have heavy traffic on rush hours, a waste of our time. But if you travel by public transport, especially by trains or other rail transit systems, you can greatly save your time. If the bus or the train carriage is not very crowded, you can do some reading there. If you sit by the window, enjoying the view or taking a nap can be a great pleasure. But you need to pay full attention while driving. Thirdly, Public transport is cheaper than driving your own cars. In many Chinese cities, getting on a bus will only cost you one or two Yuan. And finally, most public transport is safe. Drivers of buses and trains are usually well trained and good at driving. So you don t need to worry about your safety when you are on one. Candidate B, now it s your turn. 学 B 回答 [90 seconds]: 1. Public transport is sometimes inconvenient if you want to go somewhere remote. 2. Waiting for the bus or train to come is very time-consuming. 3. Taking a crowded bus or subway can be a torture. 以上学 A 及 B 的回答,A 与 B 可互相听到 考官录 :Right. Now that we ve talked briefly about the Public Transport, I d like you to develop this topic further and have a discussion for about four and a half minutes. During the discussion you may argue and ask
each other questions. Our discussion is about The effect of the development of the Public Transport Remember, this is a pair activity and you need to interact with each other. So don t keep talking without giving the other a chance. Now let s begin. 考 A 与考 B 开始互动讨论 [3 minutes] The importance of Public Transport A: Well, I benefit a lot from public transport in my daily life. You know, I live quite far away from my college and taking a bus to school can really save my time and money on commuting. I don t have to wake up early in the morning and exhaust my energy by riding a bike or walking a long way to school. B: Yeah, I agree. I think public transportation provides an affordable alternative to driving. You know, my family lives in the outskirts of the city, and we used to drive to the city center. But there were always traffic congestions and even crashes in the main roads. It took time. Worst still, it was hard to find the parking lots in the downtown, which really frustrated us a lot. Now we take the subway instead, which is cheap, fast and can take us to every corner in a city. A: That s true. Public transportation is environmentally friendly too because a well-developed transportation network encourages people to drive less. You know, emissions from road vehicles are the largest contributors to smog. Driving less can really help to reduce smog-producing pollutants and create a healthier living environment. B: I also think public transportation provides access to job opportunities for lots of people. You know, the government needs to hire workers to do the infrastructure work and the companies need to hire employees to provide service for the traveling public. Thanks to public transportation, millions of people have entered the workforce and improved their quality of life.
考官录 :All right, that s the end of the discussion. Part 3 系统从以下问题中挑选 一个问题向 A 与 B 分别提问 1. Which transport is your favorite public transport? 2. Is transportation very important? Why? 3. How do you think the transport system could be improved? 4. Do you think transportation costs are expensive in your hometown? 答案 [45 seconds]:45x2.5=112.5 1.When it comes to me, it s subway, of course, for threes reasons as follows. Firstly, as you know, Beijing has to face serious traffic jam every day, especially in evening peak. So, taking a subway is a wise choice if you don t want to be stuck in traffic when it s already the time for dinner. Secondly, it s money-saving. Traffic jam takes much of your time as well as your money. You might have to pay a huge bill when taking a taxi after work. Finally, Beijing has been badly affected by air pollution for years. As far as environmental protection is concerned, subways help a lot with reduction of vehicle emissions.
