PM DM driven by motion PM DM Specialized in modern motor systems, Precision Motors Deutsche Minebea GmbH (PM DM) designs and produces motor systems for computer hard drives and a host of other electric motors. Our systems optimize workloads, ensure process flow stability, and drastically reduce pollutant emissions by motor vehicles. Our development center for spindle motors in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany is the only center of its kind in Europe. We are part of an international alliance, headed by our Japanese parent company MinebeaMitsumi Inc. Tokyo, a leading producer of electromechanical components. In Villingen-Schwenningen, apart from so-called spindle motors for hard drives, we develop innovative electrically commutated DC motors (BLDC motors / brushless direct current motors), customized drive systems for the automotive industry and energy harvesting systems, which derive energy directly from their environment. The development process is supported by modern manufacturing and measurement equipment for series production, which, after a successful start, is completed at our European and Asian production sites. True to the motto, In Europe, for Europe, our BLDC motors are produced exclusively at our European manufacturing plants. ABOUT MinebeaMitsumi Minebea Co. Component manufacturing, assembly, analysis and qualification take place almost entirely at the development center in Villingen-Schwenningen. Energy Harvester Our experience with building specialized motors has played a large role in the development of energy harvesting systems. Berlin 2012 APPLICATIONS Industry We develop motors for pump drive systems, power tools in the premium segment, engineering and robotics, medical and analysis equipment, transport and sorting facilities, significant damper and valve adjustments in construction and air conditioning technology, and of course for communication technology. Automotive Our motors and systems can be found in many locations in motor vehicles. These pieces do not only serve to improve the aerodynamic aspects of the vehicle and minimize the CO 2 emissions, but also provide safety and increase comfort. Medicine and Consumer Due to the constant advancements in the medical world, it is important to have a reliable partner at one s side who can offer flexible drive solutions. Developments made by PM DM also enable end users to operate sustainably. SPINDLE MOTORS The spindle motor carries the storage disk, which directly rotates around the spindle. The name PM DM can be found on almost every second hard disk drive in server systems, desktops, laptops, or various diverse recording devices and is responsible for reliable and safe data storage. PM DM driven by precision ENERGY HARVESTER Today we automatically think of electrical outlets or batteries as the source of power for electrical devices. The new business area of energy harvesting systems allows us to use our experience and know-how of motor manufacturing and contribute to a modern and sustainable technology. This extra technical effort makes sense especially in cases where it is undesirable, expensive, perhaps even impossible to regularly change batteries. Our energy harvesting systems produce electricity through vibrations, force and pressure, or warmth. Smart Valve, a radiator valve operated without batteries. Power is made through a thermoelectric generator from heat produced by the radiator. Vibration Energy Harvester (Electromagnetic Harvester) with an excellent power density for sensor control and monitoring. BLDC MOTORS Electronically commutated 3 Phase brushless DC motors are very suitable for applications that run smoothly and have a long service life. They are optimized for this purpose and also serve to save energy. The permanent magnets provide a high acceleration rate with high efficiency. The feedback of the rotor position is accomplished electronically through three Hall effect sensors. We also develop motors with encoders for high resolution positioning control or motor systems with mechanical gears.
