Remove Cab Display IMPORTANT: After removal, retain the YMIU, cab display and mounting hardware in a controlled environment. Do this so the YMIU and display may be reinstalled if the combine is later resold. 1. Refer to Figure 2 and remove and retain the screws holding the cab display to the plastic molding. 2. Carefully raise the display until you can remove the cable attached to the display. 3. Remove and retain the display from the combine. 4. It is recommended but not required to remove the plastic molding the display was mounted on. Removal will prevent inadvertent damage to the plastic. Cab display screws Figure 2. Installing Cab Cable Parts required for this procedure: Cab Cable (large diameter cable with rectangular 25-pin connector, matching the connector on the bottom of the monitor). Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Open right side cab door and pull off black weather strip that seals the top and back sides of door. 2. Locate the top section of sheet metal at top of doorway where the weather strip was just removed. Look on top side of sheet metal to find three bolts with nuts that fasten cab headliner upholstery to the cab roof. Use a 10 mm wrench to remove the three nuts. 3. Remove coat hanger on the inside of right rear cab wall. Use a screwdriver to pry up on plastic cover and then remove the screw. 4. Remove right side cab door latch by removing the two bolts with a 13 mm wrench. 5. Locate the seven plastic retaining clips on the vertical sheet metal framing where the latch was just removed. 6. Use a screwdriver to pry the clips loose from sheet metal to loosen side wall upholstery. 7. Remove cover located below the combine console that is attached to the right side of the seat. 8. Remove cup holder located to right and back of seat. 9. Look down through the cup holder space or into the area where fuses and relays are mounted. Locate the bundle of wires that run vertically along the right back corner of cab. 10. Begin routing the cab cable by taking the rectangular D-shaped connector and route it upwards through the crevice where the bundle of wires run upward along the right corner of cab. 11. Pull upholstery out and route cable to the top of cab along the existing bundle of wires. Fasten it under the two black bendable clips that secure the bundle of wires. 4 November 2002
12. Once cable is routed to top of cab, begin routing it forward underneath the headliner upholstery. 13. Route cable in the cavity between roof and headliner so the cable will not obstruct headliner when it is reattached to the metal. 14. The cable should re-enter cab over the front end of the headliner just above hinge of the cab door. 15. Leave two feet of cable extending into the cab for attachment to the monitor. 16. Attach the cab cable to the monitor unit. IMPORTANT: Never use force to mate electrical connectors. If the connectors do not push together easily, they are not aligned properly. Using force will only result in damage to the connectors. 17. Stuff excess cable into space where fuses and relays are mounted. 18. Reattach side wall upholstery, door latch, headliner upholstery and coat hanger. Installing Power Cable Step-by-Step Procedure Parts required for this procedure: Power cable (Identified by yellow in-line fuse holder and two round connectors) 20 amp mini blade fuse 1. Locate the auxiliary power connector to the right and back of seat. 2. Attach female connector of the tee on the power cable to the auxiliary power connector. 3. Route the power cable by inserting the end opposite the yellow fuse through the rectangular slot next to the auxiliary power connector. 4. Reach underneath through space where fuses and relays are mounted, pull cable through gently and attach it to the 3-pin rectangular connector of the cab cable. November 2002 5
5. Locate fuse panel. In the top left-hand corner of fuse panel, identify terminal #4 and insert 20 amp mini blade fuse. NOTE: This will provide full time unswitched power to the monitor. NOTE: If desired, a different size fuse can be used in terminal #4. The fuse can be 7 to 20 amps. If switched power is needed from the auxiliary connector, install another fuse in terminal #8. This is not needed for the PF Series monitor but may be needed for things such as an FM band radio. 6 November 2002
Installing Monitor in Cab Parts required for this procedure: Monitor Unit Monitor Mounting Bracket Post Bracket Monitor Bracket Installation Kit Anchor Bar (black aluminum bar with 3 holes in one end and 1 hole in the other. The monitor is installed on the upper-right side of the right front cab post as shown in Figure 3. This places the monitor within easy reach and in a convenient viewing position. Figure 3. Post bracket positioned on right front cab post November 2002 7
Step-by-Step Procedure For Mounting the Post Bracket 1. Locate the air vent on the right side of right-front cab post. Make a horizontal mark 10-5/8 in. above the top of the vent. 2. With the bottom edge of the post bracket aligned with the horizontal mark, align the post bracket on angle with the right side of the corner post. Drill three holes using the 13/64 in. drill bit supplied. 3. Install the bottom and middle 1/4 in. self tapping screws with flat washers to fasten the post bracket to the post. 4. Use the remaining 1/4 in. self tapping screw to fasten the end of the anchor bar (that has one hole) to top hole of post bracket. 5. Align end of the anchor bar with three vertical holes in post bracket (as shown in Figure 3). Step-by-Step Procedure For Mounting the PF3000 or PF3000 Pro 1. Use the 1/4 x 1 in. bolt to fasten anchor bar and monitor mounting bracket to the post bracket as shown in Figure 4. 2. Use the 1/4 x 5/8 in. bolt to fasten the other end of monitor mounting bracket to the post bracket as shown in Figure 4. Figure 4. PF3000 and PF3000 Pro monitor bracket assembly 3. Mount monitor bracket as far right as possible so monitor does not obstruct any gauges. 4. Attach monitor to the mounting bracket using plastic knobs provided. 8 November 2002
Step-by-Step Procedure For Mounting the PFadvantage 1. Use the two ¼ bolts and the second slot from the left and last slot on the right to attach the U-bracket to the post bracket as shown in Figure 5. Figure 5. PFadvantage monitor bracket assembly 2. Mount monitor bracket as far right as possible so monitor does not obstruct any gauges. 3. Attach monitor to the mounting bracket using plastic knobs provided. November 2002 9
