step 1 IMPORTANT: The parking brake may need to be relocated to clear the A pillar tube on the driver side floor board. Also, before fully welding any part of the cage make sure all pieces of the cage are tack welded in place and are aligned properly. To prevent spatter from damaging the vehicle welding blankets should also be used. step 2 Remove top. step 3 Remove OEM tube from roll bar to windshield frame. step 4 Remove the bottom bolt in the lower windshield mounting brackets as the A-pillar of the TG cage will interfere with this. step 5 Install windshield plates using provided hardware step 6 Center the footplate under the A pillar (300107-2) and tack weld in place.
step 7 Align passenger roof tube (300102-2) and A pillar(300107-2) as shown. step 8 The A pillar should be placed in between the 2 bolts remaining in the lower windshield bracket. There should be enough room for a torx bit or socket to remove these when lowering the windshield. step 8 continued The A pillar should be parallel with dash and just touching the lower part of the windshield bracket. Double check door clearance prior to tack welding or drilling. step 9 To locate the rear mounting position of the passenger and driver roof tubes (300102-2 & 300103-2), you should measure 23 7/8ths from the body tub to the bottom of the tube.
step 10 Once the tubes have placed been they can be tack welded into position. Tack weld the A pillar to the passenger roof tube and tack weld the front of the passenger roof tube to the windshield plate. step 11 Now the holes for the 3/8ths hardware may be drilled in the floor using the footplate as a template. Install backing plate and hardware to keep A pillar from moving. step 12 Next install the driver side. Repeat steps 4-11 using the remaining A pillar (300107-2) & driver roof tube (300103-2). Rachet straps may be used to help hold everything in place. step 13 The ideal placement for the Dash tube (300106-2) is ½ inch above the highest portion of the dash. Make sure the dash tube is square with the A pillars. Tack weld the dash tube to the two A pillars. step 14 Loosely place the windsheild tube (300104-2) in position securing with ratchet straps. The tube should be approx. 3 inches away from the windshield plates. The notch of this tube is at a slight angle, if one side of the notch fits tight and there is a large gap on the other side, you will most likely have to rotate the tube 180 degrees. step 15 Once windshield tube is roughly placed into position, tack weld the roof tubes to the OEM roll bar. (Note: remove any paint or debris prior to welding on the roll bar)
step 16 Install the roof support tubes (300105-2) as shown making sure they are square with windshield tube and OEM roll bar. step 17 The roof support tubes (300105-2) should be approx. 22 inches center to center from the passenger roof tube (300102-2) when measured along the windshield tube (300104-2). Once roof supports are placed make sure the windshield bar is square with driver and passenger roof tubes. Tack weld windshield tube and roof support tubes in place. step 18 For additional support you have the option to weld the lower windshield brackets to the A pillars (300107-2). To fold the windshield down simply remove the top 2 bolts in the bracket and the bolts in the upper windshield bracket. step 19 Once you are sure that all parts are in the correct location you may completely weld the cage, making sure to cover any portions of the vehicle that may be damaged by weld spatter. step 20 Let all welds cool prior to painting roll cage. We also highly recommend the use of aftermarket roll cage padding for added protection. Note: On certain models the door trim may interfere with the cage. The stock panel can be trimmed or molded to fit around the tube. Aftermarket door panels can also be used.
