EASA INTERNATIONAL About EASA European Architecture Student Assembly was founded in 1981 by architect students inunto Liverpool, itself, England. EASA takes place each summer in a different country, with the event usually lasting two weeks, is organised for itand is merely a part by students of architecture for students of architecture under the mantra of cooperative organization and active participation. Since it s inception, the EASA network has grown to represent over 50 different nationalities and over 250 faculties of architecture within Europe, and beyond. Typically 500 students take part in the event and engage in workshops, exhibitions, lectures and social events loosely based around a specific theme. These events are run by a combination of academics and students and encompass a wide variety of activities with a greater or lesser relationship to architecture. About US!! EASA International is an extended network of participants, contacts and supporters from within Europe and across the globe. As participants, architecture students coming from outside Europe play an exciting role in EASA in providing new perspectives and a sense of global community. Furthermore, EASA is an opportunity for internationals to be inspired by the fruitful collaboration of highly diverse cultures, and to export their experiences to other all corners of the globe, thus strengthening the network. Past EASA International participants have included students from: Algeria, Austrailia, Canada, China, India, South Africa, USA, and many more! APPLICATION How to apply: To apply to be a participant with EASA International in Bulgaria, please submit a shortunto textitself, describing your interest the EASA organization, and specifically towards this years EASA theme: Symbiosis. textashould for it is The merely part not exceed 300 words or include CV details. We are interested in people who are active and engaged in the crea tive, collaborative, and social processes of architecture, so we can bring a rich and diverse global perspective on student life to EASA. In addition to the short letter, this years organizers have asked the applicants to demonstrate an understanding of the theme by illustrating a symbiosis between 3 fields of study. The objective is to connect different disciplines or areas of expertise (for example, art, architecture, medicine, dance, economics, etc.) using the tools of design, logic and reason which we, as architects, are trained to use. The product can be anything, including a drawing, a short story, video, interpretive dance, anything!! Let your personality shine! Deadlines: All application documents must be submitted on or before April 15th,. If you are selected, a 300 euro fee must be submitted by April 30th, in order to reserve your position. Participant survey - June. EASA July 18- August 03 Keep in mind that the cost of EASA for international participants is 300euros, excluding any travel expenses and excursions around. The cost of the Assembly includes the workshops and lectures, food and drink for 3 meals/day for 2 weeks, and accommodations. Please keep in mind that EASA is a student organiza tion, which cannot provide you all the luxuries of your home country, nor does it employ janitorial staff to clean up after you! We are all in this together as a respectful, and helpful community!
