Southside Public Art Mosaic Proposal compiled by Annemarie Zwack design looks like, Scale drawings:
the size: 3 panels that are 4 x 6, and 5 panels that are 3 x 6 All panels are vertical orientation. They are to be mounted in 3 separate frames, the first, from left to right will be 6 x 6 the second (middle) frame will be 9 x 6 and the further to the right will contain the 3 4 panels and measure 12 x 6 the weight: the 3 4 x 6 panels each weigh 400 lbs. the 5 3 x 6 panels each weigh 300 lbs Thus, the first section of the mosaic, at 6 x 6 will weigh 600lbs plus the frame. the second, at 9 x 6 will weigh 900lbs plus the frame. and the 3rd, at 12 x 6 will weigh 1,200lbs plus the frame. According to Mike at Accufab the weight of all 3 frames will be about 130-160lbs total. (This es?mate is based on the weight of one 5 x 10 sheet of 14 guage Stainless which will be used to make all 3 frames.) Accufab s estimate hardware and mounting sketch:
Please note: Instead of Plywood Primed MDO board was used in construction of the panels. the proposed anchoring method, Accufab proposes stainless anchors. where it will be attached to the building, It will be on the brick wall facing Plain St. to the right of
the front doors, near the ramp. whether it is permanent or temporary, The frames we plan to use, will be able to be removed safely (both for the sake of the building and the sake of the artwork), if needed. Southside will own the completed work. The mosaic will not need any regular maintenance.
