1. System Description Green Earth II XL, features the following attributes: Technological Advances Dispensing of chemicals by using Action Gap eductors greatly improves delivery performance. The unit will not spit and works well in troublesome hard water areas. Operates at lower water pressures than competing units. User-Friendly Controls Simply sliding an empty bottle onto the discharge tube and lifting up on the bottle fills the spray bottle, and lowering the bottle shuts off the supply of fluid. A durable and reliable gas-gun nozzle at the end of the 10-foot hiflow discharge hose enables the operator to quickly fill automatic floor scrubbers and/or buckets. Diverse Product Offering Super concentrated products meet all the cleaning needs of maintenance professionals with excellent end-use cost. Special additions include a series of Green Cleaning products. System Flexibility With its small, lightweight design, the Green Earth II XL is easy to install and fits in tight areas yet is capable of delivering eight different quality products with minimal effort. It is also flexible enough to deliver products in both bottle-fill and bucket-fill configuration. 2. Equipment Included with the Green Earth II XL System The Green Earth II XL contains two primary equipment setups: 4 x 4 Product Set Up (#91160-00) Capable of dispensing up to eight different products: Four products for bucketfill/automatic scrubbers and four for bottle-fill applications. 1 x 4 Product Set Up (#91161-00) Capable of delivering up to 4 products for mop bucket/automatic scrubbers. These units may be set up separately or in any combination depending upon your facility s needs. Both units are capable of dispensing tap water directly from the unit. No separate Y-connector is needed! I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 2 of 14

4. Pre-Installation Requirements Read this technical manual before beginning installation of equipment! Know what products are required for use in maintaining the facility. The Green Earth II XL 4 x 4 dispenser is capable of dispensing eight different products: four as spray bottle-fill (lo-flow) and four as automatic scrubber/bucket-fill (hi-flow). Water can also be dispensed on either side of the dispenser. Make sure all components outlined in Section 3 are in the carton. Use water supply lines from tap water outlets with a minimum pressure of 25 PSI, not to exceed 85 PSI, and water temperature of between 50 F and 100 F. Attach only to surfaces that can sustain a 90 pound load (for the eight-product unit) or 45 pound load (for the four product unit). Make sure there is enough space to properly dispense chemicals from the unit. The area should be large enough to accommodate the dispenser and the chemical storage rack. Locate the unit close to a floor drain or sink whenever possible. As with all chemicals, place system in an area that can be secured from unauthorized personnel. Wall rack should never be mounted more than 6 feet (1.8 meters) from the dispenser, or insufficient chemical draw could result. Never mount wall rack or place chemical packages ABOVE the dispenser! 5. Tools Required for Green Earth II XL Installation System Installation Phillips screwdriver Drill Drill bits Level Hammer Marker Knife or utility scissors I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 4 of 14

6. Green Earth II XL System Installation Review Section 4 of this Manual ( Pre-Installation Requirements ) Step 1: Mounting the Dispenser to the Wall 1. First unscrew the selector valve knobs. Remove the unit cover by pressing down on the upper cover snap-in lever and pulling forward on the cover. 2. Line up the dispenser on the wall. Mark the holes to be drilled. 3. Drill all of the holes using a 1/4" diameter bit for use with the included screw and anchor set. Install mounting anchors into the holes (a hammer may be required to get anchor properly seated in the drilled hole). Insert threaded screws into the anchors. Hang dispenser onto the screws. Tighten screws. 5. Connect water supply hose to the dispenser. Do not over-tighten. Slowly turn on the water and check for any leaks. 6. Replace the front cover. Screw the selector valve knobs onto front of the dispenser. Step 2: Mounting the Chemical Storage Rack REMEMBER! Never mount the chemical storage rack above the dispenser! 1. Use the back of the rack as the template for drilling holes. Level the rack and mark hole locations on the wall. 2. Drill holes with 9/32" drill where marked on the wall. 3. Insert anchors into holes, hold rack to wall and insert screws through the rack mounting holes and into the anchors. 4. Tighten hardware to secure the rack to the wall. Step 3: Finishing the Installation 1. Place chemical containers onto the rack. If required, the top of the rack swings down to reveal a second shelf into which additional chemical containers can be stored. NOTE: If using only four products, the rack can easily be locked. 2. Refer to the METERING TIP SELECTOR GUIDE, located in this manual, to select the properly colored metering tip for the products to be dispensed. NOTE: The METERING TIP SELECTOR GUIDE has tip recommendations for both the 1-gallon per minute (GPM) and the 3.5 GPM eductors. Check to be sure that the correct tip selected is placed and is in the proper eductor hose barb. Push tip into the hose barb. Please note: Always use the gray plugs for both unused hose barbs and/or to dispense tap water through the system. I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 5 of 14

3. Measure and cut the 1/4" I.D. tubing (part #22a) to fit between the hose barbs on the dispenser s eductor and the Chemical Storage Rack containing the products. (Use the 7" translucent polyethylene tubing for #320 TB Plus and/or #194 Extreme Ultra.) The best way to accomplish this is to first slide the end of the tube onto the hose barb end, then run the hose to the specific product as it is positioned on the Chemical Storage Rack. 4. Slide appropriate Twist Lock assembly (part #22e) onto the end of the tube and connect to the product by hand-tightening the black cap onto the pink colored fitment on the chemical bag. (If using one product for both the bottle and mop bucket/automatic scrubber applications, use one of the Twist Lock assemblies with the Y-connector to connect both the bucket and bottle lines.) 5. Open the box and remove the dust cover (translucent white) from the bag spout as shown on the top of the 4-liter box. 6. Screw a Twist Lock connector onto each box. Check to be sure the correct fitment is placed on the correct product. Use the cable ties, as needed, to arrange the tubing. 7. Replace front cover. Screw the selector valve knobs onto the front of the dispenser. 7. Operating the Green Earth II XL System 1. With the water inlet hose now connected to the water tap, turn on the water supply. Remember, operating temperatures should be between 50 F and 100 F. 2. There will be air in the lines of the system. To purge the air, lift an empty spray bottle up and down over the discharge tube (part #12) approximately 8-10 times. 3. To prime the system, activate individually the bottle fill and bucket fill devices and be sure to select all products installed to the unit, priming each individual product. Activate until the flow of chemical has reached the eductor (the chemical pickup tube will be full of product). 4. Each chemical box has a sight gauge that can be pushed out of the box front. Perform this step carefully. 8. Guidelines for Using Green Earth II XL System Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using any chemical. Always observe safety and handling instructions that are found on the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Always direct discharge away from you or other persons. I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 6 of 14

To dispense product, simply turn the selector valve to the desired product. For filling spray bottles, place an empty bottle up onto the spray bottle discharge tube and lift up on the bottle. To stop the flow of solution, lower the bottle. To dispense product for the automatic scrubber/bucket delivery system, once again select the product to be used by turning the selector valve to the proper position. To start the flow of fluid, squeeze the level on the gas-gun nozzle. To stop the flow of fluids, release the lever. The lever can be locked open by flipping the lever lock to hold the lever open. CAUTION: Lever must be manually unlocked to stop the flow REMEMBER TO COMPLETELY EMPTY THE WHITE DISCHARGE HOSE AFTER EACH USE! Use the plastic hook to reposition the discharge hose onto the unit. Use caution and care when handling the nozzle. Do not allow the discharge hose and nozzle to lie on the floor where it could be easily damaged. Always dispense cleaners and chemicals according to label directions. Keep equipment clean to maintain proper operation. Always reassemble equipment according to instruction procedures. Be sure all components are firmly screwed or latched into position. Use of any other products through the Green Earth II and Green Earth II XL Systems, other than products manufactured by Betco Corporation, will void all warranties and may prevent the system from operating properly. 9. Installation Review Is the equipment mounted securely to the wall? Is all tubing and equipment properly labeled? Are the products hooked up to the proper eductor? Are all lines purged, primed and operational? Have authorized personnel been fully trained on the system? Are all MSDS sheets on file? I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 7 of 14

10. Returns and Warranty RETURNS NO MERCHANDISE MAY BE RETURNED FOR CREDIT WITHOUT BETCO S WRITTEN PERMISSION. RETURN GOODS AUTHORIZATION NUMBER REQUIRED IN ADVANCE OF RETURN. WARRANTY BETCO products are warranted against defective material and workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the date of manufacture. This limited warranty does not apply to any products, which have a normal life shorter than one year or failure and damage caused by chemicals, corrosion, improper voltage supply, physical abuse, or misapplication. Rubber and synthetic rubber parts such as o-rings, diaphragms, squeeze tubing and gaskets are considered expendable and are not covered under warranty. This warranty is extended only to the original buyer of BETCO products. If products are altered or repaired without prior approval of BETCO, this warranty will be void. Defective units or parts should be returned to the factory with transportation prepaid. If inspection shows them to be defective, they will be repaired or replaced without charge, BETCO assumes no liability for damages. Return goods authorization number, to return units for repair or replacement, must be granted in advance of return. 9 I-892 Green Earth II XL Dispenser Technical Manual (12/05) Pg. 8 of 14
