SAUGATA ROY: SHRI RAMSINH RATHWA: LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2175 TO BE ANSWERED ON 22.08.2013 Automobile Exports Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND PUBLIC ENTERPRISES be pleased to state: (a) the status of present trend of automobile exports from the country; (b) the amount of foreign exchange earned through this sector during the last three years and the current year, year-wise; (c) whether the Government has provided any kind of incentives to boost the export during the said period; (d) if so, the details thereof; and (e) the target set and achieved by the auto industry during the said period? (C) & (d): The Government has provided incentives to various sectors including automobile sector under Focus Product Scheme. Incentive is granted in the form of duty credit scrip @ or 5% of FOB value of export. The detail is enclosed at Annexure-II. (e) The Automotive Mission Plan (AMP) 2006-2016 aims at doubling the contribution of the automotive sector in GDP by taking the turnover to 145 USD in 2016 with special emphasis on export of small cars, MUVs, two & three wheelers and auto components.
